냉각압연 가공용 자동 형상제어장치의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Automatic Flatness Control System for Cold Rolling)

  • Flatness of cold rolled strip is vital to the quality of the product and productivity of the mill. Therefore, in recent year requirement for flatness control in strip rolling have become increasingly severe. The necessity for more accurate automatic gauge control and automatic flatness control(AFC) has increased by customer's requirement for cold rolled steel sheets with thinner gauge and better flatness quality. In this paper, the performance and functions of AFC system installed on the 4 hi-reversing mill has been investigated under actual conditions. The test results are as follows : The more strip thickness is thick, the smaller the I-value. The I-value is a strain measured by stressometer. Complex distributions of strip tension are controlled to remove not only a quarter buckle but also a simple center wave and edge wave. The defects caused by poor flatness have been drastically decreased. And a proper coolant temperature for work roll cooling system on the AFC system is about $50~55^{\circ}C$.

오토인코더를 이용한 열간 조압연설비 상태모니터링과 진단 (Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis of a Hot Strip Roughing Mill Using an Autoencoder)

  • Purpose: It is essential for the steel industry to produce steel products without unexpected downtime to reduce costs and produce high quality products. A hot strip rolling mill consists of many mechanical and electrical units. In condition monitoring and diagnosis, various units could fail for unknown reasons. Methods: In this study, we propose an effective method to detect units with abnormal status early to minimize system downtime. The early warning problem with various units was first defined. An autoencoder was modeled to detect abnormal states. An application of the proposed method was also implemented in a simulated field-data analysis. Results: We can compare images of original data and reconstructed images, as well as visually identify differences between original and reconstruction images. We confirmed that normal and abnormal states can be distinguished by reconstruction error of autoencoder. Experimental results show the possibility of prediction due to the increase of reconstruction error from just before equipment failure. Conclusion: In this paper, hot strip roughing mill monitoring method using autoencoder is proposed and experiments are performed to study the benefit of the autoencoder.

  • The looper control of hot strip finishing mill is one of the most important control item In hot strip rolling mill process. Loopers are placed between finishing mill stands and control the mass flow of the two stands. Another important action of the looper is to control the strip tension which influences on the width of the strip. So it is very important to control both the looper angle and the strip tension simultaneously but the looper angle and the strip tension are strongly interacted by each other. The gain scheduling is to break the control design process into two steps. First, one designs local linear controllers based on linerizations of the nonlinear system at several different operating conditions. Second, a global nonlinear controller for the nonlinear system is obtained by interpolating.

  • In the face of global competitor the requirements flor the continuously increasing productivity, flexibility and quality(dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties and surface properties) have imposed a major change on steel manufacturing industries. Indeed, one of the keys to achieve this goal is the automation of the steel-making process using AI(Artificial Intelligence) techniques. The automation of hot rolling process requires the developments of several mathematical models fir simulation and quantitative description of the industrial operations involved. In this paper, a on-line training neural network for both long-term teaming and short-term teaming was developed in order to improve the prediction of rolling force in hot rolling mill. This analysis shows that the predicted rolling force is very closed to the actual rolling force, and the thickness error of the strip is considerably reduced.

  • In order to obtain the initial starting sample having a random texture and fine grains, aluminum alloy 3103 sheets were repeatedly deformed by CCSS up to six passages and subsequently annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ for 1h. These samples were cold rolled at room temperature and also warm rolled at $250^{\circ}C$. Changes in rolling temperature gave rise to the different texture evolution. Warm rolling led to the pronounced texture gradients comprising the shear texture at the surface and the rolling texture at the sheet center. The formation of the rolling texture components, i.e., the ${\beta}$-fiber, was promoted by cold rolling than warm rolling.

윤활성 및 압연기 청정성을 겸비한 냉간 압연유의 개발 (Development of a Cold Rolling Oil with Lubricity and Mill Cleanness Property)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a cold rolling oil with lubricity and mill cleanness property under the rolling conditions of high reduction ratio and high rolling speed. Six kinds of oil samples were blended. Evaluation of lubricity and anti-seizuro property of the samples were carried out with a laboratory scale rolling mill, where the contact conditions between work roll and strip are very close to actual cold rolling mill. Laboratory evaluation for dispersion, contamination, anti-oil stain property and residual carbon, etc. were carried out with several testers such as longterm circulation tester, Coulter counter and Conradson tester. A new high speed cold rolling oil with good lubricity and mill cleanness property was developed compared with the previously developed rolling oil.

  • Hydraulic Hot Strip Mill (HHSM) rolls materials whose size and stiffness are various. So a roll gap controller for HHSM was designed using TDC(Time Delay Control) method. The performance of the roll gap control was evaluated through computer simulations. The simulation results indicate that TDC method show excellent robustness and tracking properties against PID control method in various rolling conditions.

  • This study aims at the development of REC sensor causing the gauge error in the hot strip rolling process, and the improvement of the hydraulic AGC (Automatic Gauge Control) system. The gauge error outbreaks from the various reasons, however, mainly the roll eccentricity is considered to cause a such kind of error. In the study, the REC (Roll Eccentricity Control System) sensor is designed using sensor An On - line test of the system shows the comprehensive effects of controlling the gauge error of the hot strip. On - Line test shows the possibility of enhancing the accuracy for gauge.

  • This paper deals with on-Line detection of strip movement and real time positioning of brackets of EMD connected with it. Strip movement is detected by 4 line CCD camera and measured position correction value is inputted to motor position controller to control position of brackets.
