반고형제제의 유동특성에 관한 연구 (제2보) : 바셀린의 온도의존성 유동거동 (Studies on The Flow Properties of Semi-Solid Dosage Forms (II) : Temperature-Dependent Flow Behavior of Vaseline)

  • Using a concentric cylinder type, rheometer. the steady shear flow properties of vaseline were measured over the temperature range of 20~70${\circ}$C. In this paper, the shea rate and temperature dependencies of its flow behavior were investigated and the validity of some flow models was examined. In addition, the flow characteristics over a wide temperature range were quantitatively evaluated by calculating the various material parameters. Main findings obtained from this study can be summarized as follows: (1) At relatively lower temperature range, vaseline is a plastic fluid with a yield stress and its flow behavior shows shear-thinning characteristics. (2) As the temperature increases, the value of a yield stress and the degree of shear-thinning become smaller, consequently, the Newtonian flow behavior occurs at a lower shear rate range. (3) At temperature range lower than 45${\circ}$C, the flow behavior shows much stronger temperature dependence, and a larger activation energy is needed for flow. (4) The Herschel-Bulkley model is the most effective one g$^3$ to predict the flow behavior of vaseline having a yield stress. The validity of the Bingham and Casson models becomes more available with increasing temperature. The flow behavior of vaseline at temperature range higher than 45${\circ}$C can be perfectly described by the Newton model.

  • 연구목적 본 연구는 외상후 스트레스장애(Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD)를 비롯한 정신질환자의 기질과 성격의 변화 양상을 확인하고 한다 방 법 PTSD 환자 33명과 비PTSD 환자 69명을 대상으로 Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI)를 1, 2차에 걸쳐 측정하였고, 그 결과값에 대해 반복측정 ANOVA와 단순 주효과분석을 시행하였다. 결 과 비PTSD 집단에서는 1차와 2차 검사 결과의 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 반면, PTSD 집단에서는 위험회피, 사회적 민감성, 자율성, 연대감에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 또한 위험회피, 사회적 민감성, 자율성, 연대감에서 시간과 그룹 간의 상호작용과 시간에 따른 주효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 결 론 본 연구는 외상적 사건이 자율성, 연대감과 같은 성격적 특성은 물론, 위험회피와 사회적 민감성과 같은 기질적 특성의 변화에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Evaluation of electromechanical properties in REBCO CC tapes under transverse compression using anvil test method

  • One of the major applications of REBCO coated conductor (CC) tapes is in superconducting magnets or coils that are designed for high magnet fields. For such applications, the CC tapes were exposed to a high level of stresses which includes uniaxial tensile or transverse compressive stresses resulting from a large magnetic field. Thus, CC tapes should endure such mechanical load or deformation that can influence their electromechanical performance during manufacturing, cool-down, and operation. It has been reported that the main cause of critical current (Ic) degradation in CC tapes utilized in coil windings for superconducting magnets was the delamination due to transversely applied stresses. In most high-magnetic-field applications, the operating limits of the CC tapes will likely be imposed by the electromechanical properties together with its Ic dependence on temperature and magnetic field. In this study, we examined the influence of the transverse compressive stress on the Ic degradation behaviors in various commercially available CC tapes which is important for magnet design Four differently processed REBCO CC tapes were adopted to examine their Ic degradation behaviors under transverse compression using an anvil test method and a newly developed instantaneous Ic measurement system. As a result, all REBCO CC tapes adopted showed robustness against transverse compressive stresses for REBCO coils, notably at transverse compressive stresses until 250 MPa. When the applied stress further increased, different Ic degradation behaviors were observed depending on the sample. Among them, the one that was fabricated by the IBAD/MOCVD process showed the highest compressive stress tolerance.

Temperature dependence of Heteroeptaxial $Y_2O_3$ films grown on Si by ionized cluster beam deposition

  • Heteroepitaxial $Y_2O_3$ films were grown on a Si(111) substrate by ionized cluster beam deposition(ICBD) in ultra high vacuum, and its qualities such as crystllitnity, film stress, and morphological characteristics were investigated using the various measurement methods. The crystallinity was investigated by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED). Interface crystallinity was also examined by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy(RBS) channeling, transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The stress of the films was measured by RBS channeling and XRD. Surface and interface morphological characteristics were investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and x-ray scattering method. Comparing the interface with the surface characteristics, we can conclude that many defects at the interface region were generated by interface reaction between the yttrium metal and SiO2 layer and by ion beam characteristic such as shallow implantation, so that they influenced the film qualities. The film quality was dominantly depended on the characteristic temperature range. In the temperature range from $500^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$, the crystallinity was mainly improved and the surface roughness was drastically decreased. On the other hand, in the temperature range from $600^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$, the compressive stress and film density were dominantly increased, and the island size was more decreased. Also the surface morphological shape was transformed from elliptical shape to triangular. The film stress existed dominantly at the interface region due to the defects generation.

Stress Relaxation Behavior of Cold-worked and Annealed Zircaloy-4 Tubing

  • 질칼로이-4에 있어서 flow stress strain rate 의존성을 냉간가공 및 소둔된 시편에 대해 20$0^{\circ}C$-45$0^{\circ}C$ 온도 구간에서 응력이완 실험으로 조사하였다. 전체 실험온도에서 In-3-ln i 관계식은 $10^{-5}$-$10^{-3}$ sec$^{-1}$ strain rate의 구간에 걸쳐 선형관계를 보였다. 냉간 가공된 질칼로이 -4의 strain rate sensitivity, m값은 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 최소값을 보인 반면, 소둔된 시편의 경우 30$0^{\circ}C$와 45$0^{\circ}C$에서 최소값들을 보였다. 최소값의 m이 나타나는 온도는 가공시효값이 극대값을 보이는 온도와 일치한다는 사실이 확인되었다. m값의 감소는 활동자유전위들이 산소원자에 의해 pinning된 결과로 유발되는 가공 시효와 관련된 것으로 고려된다. 그리고 소둔된 시편이 45$0^{\circ}C$에서 가지는 최소 m값은 철 원자들로 인한 가공 시효에서 기인된 것으로 생각된다.

Production of Exopolysaccharides and İndole Acetic Acid (IAA) by Rhizobacteria and Their Potential against Drought Stress in Upland Rice

  • Peatlands are marginal agricultural lands due to highly acidic soil conditions and poor drainage systems. Drought stress is a big problem in peatlands as it can affect plants through poor root development, so technological innovations are needed to increase the productivity and sustainability of upland rice on peatlands. Rhizobacteria can overcome the effects of drought stress by altering root morphology, regulating stress-responsive genes, and producing exopolysaccharides and indole acetic acid (IAA). This study aimed to determine the ability of rhizobacteria in upland rice to produce exopolysaccharides and IAA, identify potential isolates using molecular markers, and prove the effect of rhizobacteria on viability and vigor index in upland rice. Rhizobacterial isolates were grown on yeast extract mannitol broth (YEMB) medium for exopolysaccharides production testing and Nutrient Broth (NB)+L-tryptophan medium for IAA production testing. The selected isolates identify using sequence 16S rRNA. The variables observed in testing the effect of rhizobacteria were germination ability, vigour index, and growth uniformity. EPS-1 isolate is the best production of exopolysaccharides (41.6 mg/ml) and IAA (60.83 ppm). The isolate EPS-1 was identified as Klebsiella variicola using 16S rRNA sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. The isolate EPS-1 can increase the viability and vigor of upland rice seeds. K. variicola is more adaptive and has several functional properties that can be developed as a potential bioagent or biofertilizer to improve soil nutrition, moisture and enhance plant growth. The use of rhizobacteria can reduce dependence on the use of synthetic materials with sustainable agriculture.

알코올 의존 환자에서 삼대립 세로토닌 수송체 유전자 다형성과 생활사건 스트레스가 우울증에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Triallelic Serotonin Transporter Gene Polymorphism and Stressful Life Event on Depression in Patients with Alcohol Dependence)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the triallelic serotonin transporter gene and stressful life events to determine their effect on depression with alcohol dependence. Methods : Ninety-five hospitalized patients with alcohol dependence (73 male, 22 female) were enrolled in this study. Thirty-two (33.7%) of the total patients were diagnosed with major depressive disorder and dysthymic disorder by Structured Clinical Interview for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV. The characteristics of stress were evaluated using the stressful life events scale, and depressive symptoms were assessed using the depression scale (Beck Depression Inventory, BDI). Alcoholism with depression (n = 32) and alcoholism without depression (n = 63) were genotyped for the triallelic serotonin transporter gene ($L_A$ : higher expressing allele, $L_G$/S : lower expressing allele). Results : There was no significant difference in the allele frequency between the depression group and the non-depression group (${\chi}^2$ = 0.345, p = 0.619). $L_G$/S alleles had more comorbid depression in the higher score of stressful life events scale [Mental-Haenszel (MH)-${\chi}^2$ = 4.477, p = 0.034]. But there was no significant difference in the comorbidity according to the scores from the stressful life event scale in the $L_A$ alleles (MH-${\chi}^2$ = 0.741, p = 0.399). In the results, alcohol-dependent individuals with $L_G$/S alleles had more comorbid depression than those with $L_A$ alleles when they had experienced severe stressful life events (MH-odds ratio = 2.699, p = 0.028). Conclusions : These results suggest that there is no direct relationship between triallelic serotonin transporter gene and depression in the alcohol dependent patients. But alcohol dependent individuals with the lower expressing alleles of the serotonin transporter gene were more susceptible to depression than those with the higher expressing alleles in response to stressful life events.

Prestressed concrete bridges with corrugated steel webs: Nonlinear analysis and experimental investigation

  • Concrete bridges with corrugated steel webs and prestressed by both internal and external tendons have emerged as one of the promising bridge forms. In view of the different behaviour of components and the large shear deformation of webs with negligible flexural stiffness, the assumption that plane sections remain plane may no longer be valid, and therefore the classical Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam models may not be applicable. In the design of this type of bridges, both the ultimate load and ductility should be examined, which requires the estimation of full-range behaviour. An analytical sandwich beam model and its corresponding beam finite element model for geometric and material nonlinear analysis are developed for this type of bridges considering the diaphragm effects. Different rotations are assigned to the flanges and corrugated steel webs to describe the displacements. The model accounts for the interaction between the axial and flexural deformations of the beam, and uses the actual stress-strain curves of materials considering their stress path-dependence. With a nonlinear kinematical theory, complete description of the nonlinear interaction between the external tendons and the beam is obtained. The numerical model proposed is verified by experiments.

비균일 조직에 따른 불균일 변형 해석을 위한 미시역학적 초소성 모텔 (Micromechanical Superplastic Model for the Analysis of Inhomogeneous Deformation in Heterogeneous Microstructure)

  • A micromechanical model is presented for superplasticity in which heterogeneous microstructures are coupled with deformation behavior. The effects of initial distributions of grain size, and their evolutions on the mechanical properties can be predicted by the model. Alternative stress rate models such as Jaumann rate and rotation incremental rate have been employed to analyze uniaxial loading and simple shear problems and the appropriate modeling was studied on the basis of hypoelasticity and elasto-viscoplasticity. The model has been implemented into finite element software so that full process simulation can be carried out. Tests have been conducted on Ti-6Al-4V alloy and the microstructural features such as grain size, distributions of grain size, and volume fraction of each phase were examined for the materials that were tested at different strain rates. The experimentally observed stress-strain behavior on a range of initial grain size distributions has been shown to be correctly predicted. In addition, the effect of volume fraction of the phases and concurrent grain growth were analyzed. The dependence of failure strain on strain rate has been explained in terms of the change in mechanism of grain growth that occurs with changing strain rate.

Comparison of the rheologies of laterite and goethite suspensions

  • Comparisons in shear behaviour are made between aqueous suspensions of a laterite ore and aqueous suspensions of pure goethite ($\alpha$-FeOOH), following prior papers in which the rheologies of the two mineral suspensions were characterized individually. Drawing comparisons is appropriate because the ore sample was about 65% goethite and it was originally thought that the pure goethite might serve as a model of the more complex laterite. Viscosity measurements of the two suspensions show that, at the same solids fraction, the goethite suspensions were more viscous by an order of magnitude, even though the goethite particles had much smaller aspect ratios. Similarly, yield stresses for the goethite suspensions were at least an order of magnitude higher. The most significant difference was in transient behaviour. Time-dependent effects were investigated by subjecting a fluid to a step change or a ramp sequence in shear rate, and measuring the resulting shear stress over time. In most cases, transient behaviour could not be detected in the goethite suspensions, whereas stresses in the laterite suspensions relaxed over periods of order 10 seconds. The disparate results indicate that a goethite suspension is a poor model of a laterite slurry.
