축인장하(軸引張下)의 평판(平板)의 단부(段部) Fillet 근처(近處)의 Relieving Groove가 응력집중(應力集中)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of the Semi-circular Relieving Groove on the Stress Concentration at the Fillet of the Stepped Bar under Axial Tension)

  • A stepped bar with seimi-circular stress relieving groove near the fillet was subjected by axial tension in a polarized light field. On the stress concentration factor, the effect of the ratios of the fillet radius, the distance between two relieving grooves and the groove radius to the breath of the narrower portion of the stepped bar have been investigate. Observing the stress concentration in 48 models with various proportions, the conclusion arrived at were as follow: 1) If the fillet radius of the stepped bar is larger than half breadth of the narrower portion, the reduction of the stress concentrations can not be expected. 2) If the fillet radius is smaller than half breadth of the narrower portion of the stepped bar, the stress concentration can be droped to the reasonable range. 3) When the groove radius is larger than a quarter of the difference between the distance of two relieving grooves and the breadth of the stepped bar and smaller than a half of that, the stress concentration factors can have their possible minimum value. 4) When the sun of the breadth of the narrower portion of the stepped bar and twice of the relieving groove radius is smaller than the distance between two relieving grooves, minimum stress concentration can be obtained.

  • For the purpose of studying the influence of stress relieving on microstructures and mechanical properties of weld metal, manual arc welding, onepole and twopole submerged arc welding were accomplished on $60kg/mm^2$ quenched and tempered high strength steel. After stress relieving, a lot of carbides were precipitated, developed and subsequently coarsened at the grain boundaries and within matrix due tn multiple tempering effect in manual arc welding, resulting in deterioated toughness. Meanwhile pearlite and cementite films were spheroidized and shortened in submerged arc welding, resulting in improved considerable toughness. It was observed that main effect of stress relieving was to reduce solut supersaturation by nucleation and growth of carbide precipitates, and stress relieving led to some reduction in the yield and tensile strenath but did not significantly affect elongation.

  • Residual stresses, which can be produced during the welding process, play an important role in an industrial field. Welding residual stresses are exerting negative effect on the fatigue behavior and integrity of structure. In this study, as a result of the thermal elasto-plastic finite element analysis for the welds of a nuclear component, the residual stress distributions are estimated for as-welded condition. Also, finite element techniques are developed to simulate the relaxation of the residual stresses according to the various mechanical stress relieving(MSR) loads such as hydrostatic pressure loading, tensile pipe-end loading, and mechanical stress improvement process(MSIP) loading. Finally, the results of residual stress redistributions for various loading conditions are compared and reviewed qualitatively and quantitatively to find an optimum loading condition.

  • The heat transfer and thermal stress-distribution were numerically determined by using the finite element method for a butt-welded pipe. A mechanical stress relieving(MSR) treatment which has been frequently used in the fabrication of pressure vessels instead of the post weld heat treatment (PWHT) was also simulated to investigate its effect of reducing the residual stress in the welded zone by a mechanical loading.

Comparison of Stress Relieving Effects of Horticultural Therapy Programs between Judging and Perceiving Personality Types among Female Undergraduate Students

  • Background and objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects and preferences of horticultural therapy programs for stress relief according to MBTI personality types (Judging and Perceiving types) of female undergraduate students. Methods: The participants were divided into 15 Judging and 15 Perceiving types based on lifestyle preferences of the MBTI personality test, and a total of 30 participants participated in the horticultural therapy programs for 6 sessions. Results: Both Judging and Perceiving types showed a significant decrease in stress after participating in the horticultural therapy programs. Among the 8 life stress subfactors, Judging types showed significant stress relieving effects in 5 subfactors (relationship with the opposite sex, relationship with family, economic problems, future problems, value problems), while Perceiving types showed stress relieving effects in only 3 subfactors (relationship with family, economic problems, future problems). However, the changes in stress relief of 8 subfactors were not significantly different between the two personality types. The most preferred program for the Judging types was 'Making a flower basket', while the most preferred ones for the Perceiving types were 'Planting monstera', and 'Making preserved lemons with marigold', suggesting that the preferences varied depending on personality types. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary to develop suitable horticultural therapy programs for different subjects based on their personality types to enhance the effect of the programs on the subjects.

동적 광탄성실험에 의한 응력이완 노치부근에서의 접촉특이응력 해석 (2) (Analysis of Contact Singular Stresses with Relief Notch by Using Dynamic Photoelasticity(II))

  • The dynamic photoelastic technique had been utilized to investigate the possibillity of relieving the large local singular stresses induced at the corner of a right- angle- indenter. The indenter compressed a semi-infinite body dynamically with an impact load applied on the top of the indenter. The effects of the geometric changes of the indenter in terms of the diameter (d) and the location (1) of the stress relieving notch on the behavior of the dynamic contact stresses were investigated. The influence of stress relieving notches positioned along the edge of the semi-infinite body on the dynamic contact stresses were also studied by changing the diameter (D) and the location (L) of the notch. A multi-speak-high speed camera with twelve sparks were used to take photographs of full field dynamic isochromatic fringe patterns. The contact singular stresses were found to be released significantly by the stress relief notches both along the indenter and the edge of the semi-infinite body. The optimal position and geometry of the stress relieving notches were obtained with the aid of limited experimental results.

사용자의 스트레스 완화를 위한 맞춤형 콘텐츠 서비스 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Customized Contents Service System for Relieving Users' Stress)

  • 사회가 점점 고도화 되면서 스트레스는 중요한 사회적 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스트레스의 완화를 위한 맞춤형 콘텐츠 서비스 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 본 제안 시스템에서는 생체신호 및 심리정보를 기반으로 스트레스 증상 및 지수를 계산하고 선호도 등의 사용자 정보를 기반으로 영상, 음향, 향기 및 조명 콘텐츠 조합을 추천하고 추천된 콘텐츠 서비스를 제공한다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 스트레스 증상을 분류하고, 심리정보 측정을 위한 자가평가도구 문항을 정의하였다. 정의된 스트레스 증상에 맞게 영상, 음향, 향기 및 조명 콘텐츠를 분류하였으며, 3단계 사용자 맞춤형 콘텐츠 추천 모델을 제안하였다. 또한 사용자 맞춤형 콘텐츠 서비스 모델을 제안하였으며, 이에 따라 서비스 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 기존의 시스템들과는 달리 사용자 맞춤형이며 다양한 콘텐츠 조합을 서비스할 수 있는 특징이 있다.

Korean Emotional Laborers' Job Stressors and Relievers: Focus on Work Conditions and Emotional Labor Properties

  • Background: The present study aims to investigate job stressors and stress relievers for Korean emotional laborers, specifically focusing on the effects of work conditions and emotional labor properties. Emotional laborers are asked to hide or distort their real emotions in their interaction with clients. They are exposed to high levels of stress in the emotional labor process, which leads to serious mental health risks including burnout, depression, and even suicide impulse. Exploring job stressors and relieving factors would be the first step in seeking alternatives to protect emotional laborers from those mental health risks. Methods: Using the third wave data of Korean Working Conditions Survey, logistic regression analysis was conducted for two purposes: to examine the relations of emotional labor and stress, and to find out job stressors and relievers for emotional laborers. Results: The chances of stress arousal are 3.5 times higher for emotional laborers; emotional laborers experience double risk-burden for stress arousal. In addition to general job stressors, emotional laborers need to bear burdens related to emotional labor properties. The effect of social support at the workplace is not significant for stress relief, unlike common assumptions, whereas subjective satisfaction (wage satisfaction and work-life balance) is proven to have relieving effects on emotional laborers' job stress. Conclusion: From the results, the importance of a balanced understanding of emotional labor for establishing effective policies for emotional laborer protection is stressed.
