완화 홈이 가공된 액슬구동축의 응력집중 및 피로수명 평가 (Investigation of Stress Concentration and Fatigue Life of Axle Drive Shaft with Relief Groove)

  • An axle drive shaft with double joint shaft, cross kit and yoke has an important role by transferring power and changing steering angle between axle and wheel in power train system. It has been used widely in the heavy machinery requiring a high reliability in the power train system. At fatigue failures of the axle drive shaft with the long span, a relatively high stress concentration at a snap ring groove on the drive shaft brings to significant fatigue damages under repeated loading condition. As Peterson's suggestions on this study, a relief groove in the vicinity of the snap ring groove is applied by decreasing the stress concentration and improving the fatigue life of axle drive shaft. By using FEM analysis, the decreasing effect of the stress concentration and extended fatigue life are due to the change of design parameters related with size and location of the relief groove. The relief groove with the design parameters such as d/b=2.0 and r/h=1.2 enables to decrease the stress concentration of 22.3% and increase the fatigue life more than 3 times by comparing with no relief groove application.

  • Self-Curing Self Compacting Concrete (SCSCC), is a special concrete in contemporary construction practice aimed at enhancing the performance of structural concrete. Its primary function is to ensure a sufficient moisture supply that facilitates hydration along with flow, particularly in the context of high-rise buildings and tall structures. This innovative concrete addresses the challenges of maintaining adequate curing conditions in large-scale projects, maintaining requisite workability, contributing to the overall durability and longevity of concrete structures. For implementing such a versatile material in construction, it is imperative to understand the stress-strain (S-S) behaviour. The primary aim of this study is to develop the S-S curves for TCSCSCC and compare through experimental results. Finite element (FE) analysis based ATENA-GiD was employed for the numerical simulation and develop the analytical stress-strain curves by introducing parameters viz., grade of concrete, tie diameter, tie spacing and yield strength. The stress ratio and the strain ratios are evaluated and compared with experimental values. The mean error is 1.2% with respect to stresses and 2.2% in case of strain. Finally, the stress block parameters for tie confined SCSCC are evaluated and equations are proposed for the same in terms of confinement index.

Three level constant stress accelerated life tests for Weibull distribution

  • In this paper, the maximum likelihood estimators and confidence intervals for parameters of Weibull distribution are derived under three level constant stress accelerated life tests and the assumption that a log quadratic relationship exits between stress and the scale parameter ${\theta}$. The compound linear plan proposed by Kim (2006) is used to allocate the test units at each stress level, which performed nearly as good as the optimum quadratic plan and had the advantage of simplicity. Some simulation studies are given.

  • Obesity could cause immune-physiological disorders in fish. Yet, little is known about the impact of obesity on stress and histological responses. This study aimed to determine histological and physiological changes in and vulnerability of overfeeding-induced obese rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss exposed to stress condition. Control, intermediate and overfed groups were fed at 1.5, 2.5 and 3.09% of their body weight per day, respectively, for eight weeks. Weight gain, body mass index, hepatosomatic index and serological parameters, and histology of liver were measured in five fish from each group at week 0, 2, 4, and 8. At week 8, 20 fish from each group were exposed to heat stress by increasing water temperature at a rate of 3℃ per day from 15 to 25℃ and maintaining the final temperature for 10 days. Overall, overfed fish showed significantly higher weight gain, body mass index, and serological parameters than those of fish in the other groups. Fish in the overfed and intermediate groups displayed multifocal infiltration of inflammatory cells in hepatic parenchyma. Mortality rate and serological parameters of fish in the overfed group exposed to heat stress were significantly higher than those of fish in the other groups, indicating increased vulnerability to environmental stress.

다문화가정 청소년들의 스트레스와 학교생활적응과의 관계에서 자아존중감, 사회적지원, 스트레스 대처의 매개효과 (The Mediated Effects of Self Esteem, Social Support, and Stress Coping on the Relationship between Stress and School Adjustment of Multi Cultural Youth)

  • 본 연구는 다문화 청소년의 스트레스와 학교생활 적응 상태를 파악하고 자아존중감, 사회적 지원, 스트레스 대처에 따라 어떠한 변화가 나타나는 지를 확인하여 향후 다문화 청소년을 위한 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 활용되고자 시도되었다. 이를 위해 구조방정식을 활용하여 다문화가정 청소년의 스트레스와 학교생활적응 간의 관계를 파악하고, 스트레스 대처, 사회적 지원, 자아존중감의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 다문화가정 청소년의 스트레스는 사회적 지원과 자아존중감에는 음(-)의 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 스트레스 대처는 통계적으로 유의한 영향이 발견되지 못했다. 이어서 분석한 스트레스 대처, 사회적 지원, 자아존중감은 모두 스트레스와 학교생활적응 간의 관계에서 정(+)의 매개효과가 있음이 나타났다.

SUH35/SUH3 마찰용접 접합계면에 대한 잔류응력 특이성의 해석 (Analysis of Residual Stress Singularities on Interfaces of Friction Welded SUH35/SUH3)

  • With increasing use of SUH35/SUH3 dissimilar materials for automotive engine valves, it is required that stress singularities under residual stress on an interface for friction welded dissimilar materials analyzed to establish strength evaluation. The stress singularity $index{\lambda}$ and stress singularities $factor{\Gamma}$ were calculated from using the results of stress analysis to consider residual stress and loads. The stress singularities on variations for shapes and thickness of welded flashes were analyzed and discussed. This paper suggested that the strength evaluation by using the stress singularity factors as fracture parameters, considering the stress singularity on an interface edge of friction welded dissimilar materials will be useful.

한반도 발생 지진의 지진원 상수 (Source parameters of earthquakes occurred in the Korean Peninsula)

  • Source parameters for forty nine recent earthquakes occurred in and around Korean Peninsula are determined and the relations among them are studied. The corner frequency and seismic moment are estimated from three different methods. The spectral fitting of the source displacement spectrum with the $\omega$-square source model of Brune(1970) and Snoke(1987)'s method are applied to all events and empirical Green's function method for two events are adopted. The source parameters determined in this study show different values depending on the adopted method and on the stations of which seismograms are recorded. It is interpreted that the disagreements principally originate from insufficient consideration of source radiation pattern and attenuation and amplification according to path direction. The corner frequencies and seismic moments are averaged to exclude the directional effects and other source parameters are estimated from the mean corner frequency and seismic moment. The static stress drops estimated in this study tend to be independent of seismic moment or magnitude for events above a certain size. For earthquakes with the size less than about 3.0$\times$10$^{21}$dyne-cm(nearly same as M$_{L}$=3.7), the stress drop tends to decrease with the decreasing moment. This fact suggests a breakdown of scaling law of source parameters below the threshold magnitude. The moment magnitudes calculated from source parameters appear to be slightly larger than the Richter's local magnitudes in the range above M$_{L}$=3.5.3.5.

마찰용접에 의한 이종재 접합계면에 대한 응력특이성의 해석 (Analysis of Stress Singularities on Interfaces of Friction Welded Dissimilar Materials)

  • In this paper, the stress singularity on interface of friction welded dissimilar materials was investigated by using 2-dimensional elastic boundary element method. It is required that stress distributions and stress singularities on an interface for friction welded dissimilar materials analize to establish strength evaluation. The stress singularity index ($\lambda$) and stress singularity factor ($\Gamma$) were calculated from the results of stress analysis. The stress singularities on variations for shapes and thickness of friction welded flashes were analized and discussed. This paper suggested that the strength evalution by using the stress singularity factors as fracture parameters, considering the stress singularity on an interface edge of friction welded dissimilar materials were very useful.

  • 콘크리트 구조물 설계에 사용되는 콘크리트 압축 응력블럭은 실제 응력분포를 등가의 삼각형, 직사각형, 사다리꼴 또는 포물선-직선 등 여러 형태로 나타낸 것이다. 이러한 콘크리트의 압축 응력블럭은 주요 선진국의 설계기준마다 그 형태가 조금씩 다르며, 각 나라 콘크리트의 재료적 특성을 반영하여 적용하고 있다. 현재, 우리나라 콘크리트 설계기준에 적용하고 있는 직사각형 압축 응력블럭은 ACI 설계기준과 동일한 형태이고, 이는 고강도 콘크리트의 재료적 특성을 반영하지 못하여 비합리적 이라는 여러 연구결과가 발표되어왔다. 본 연구는 주요 선진국의 설계기준에 적용되는 콘크리트 압축 응력블럭에 대해 검토하였으며, 우리나라 콘크리트의 재료적 특성을 알기 위해 콘크리트 압축 응력블럭 실험을 실시하였다. 실험을 통해 하중 및 변형률을 얻었으며, 실험 결과에 의한 응력블럭계수를 도출하였다. 실험에 의한 응력블럭계수와 주요 선진국의 설계기준에 적용하는 응력블럭계수 값들을 비교.분석하였다. 또한, 주요 설계기준의 응력블럭에 따른 공칭 축력-모멘트 상관도를 비교 분석하였다.

HRV를 통한 운전자 스트레스 정도 추정 가능성 연구 (A Study on the Estimation Possibility of Driver's Stress Degrees with the HRV Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 Healey 등(2005)의 데이터를 활용하여 스트레스 정도가 단시간에 변하는 운전상황에서 운전자의 심박변이도 분석을 통해 스트레스 정도에 대한 추정이 가능한지를 예비적으로 평가해 보았다. 단시간에 스트레스 정도가 변하는 운전의 경우 심박변이도 변화 양상은 기존 문헌에 나타난 장거리 운전의 양상과 다르며, meanRR, sdRR, HF, LF/HF, LFnorm, HFnorm의 6가지 심박변이도 파라미터가 스트레스 추정에 유의한 변수로 확인되었다. 정상인 운전자 5명에 대해 6가지 파라미터를 입력변수로, 운전 구간에 따라 변하는 스트레스 정도를 출력변수로 하여 개인별 선형회귀 모델($R^2=0.8604{\pm}0.0959$)을 도출하였으며, 이 선형회귀 모델의 적합성을 평가하기 위하여 심박변이도 데이터를 5분 길이의 16개 세그먼트로 나눈 뒤 실제 스트레스 정도와 추정된 스트레스 정도를 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 일부 세그먼트에서 부정확한 추정 결과가 관찰되기도 하였으나, 실제 스트레스 변화 패턴과 예측된 스트레스 변화 패턴 사이에 높은 상관성이 확인되었다($r=0.8560{\pm}0.0619$). 향후 운전자 구속을 최소화하면서 측정 가능한 심박변이도 분석 시스템을 개발하고, 이를 Healey 등의 연구에서와 유사한 운전 프로토콜을 통해 다수의 피험자에게 적용함으로써 본 연구결과가 유효한지 검증할 계획이다.
