We develop the performance improving agent of penetration reinforcing applied on concrete by which main components use compounds of metal alkoxide and silicate(Ti). Also, we investigate on the type and amount of organic solvent which need the hydrolysis and water condensation reaction of Ti. The penetration reinforcing agent developed this study can penetrate deeper than 50mm without relation to concrete strength. Also the performance improving agent composed of the combination of Ti and organic solvent A, improve performance in keeping out or removement of deterioration material. waterproof and strength.
This study aimed to investigate the suitability of some concrete components for producing "high-performance heavy density concrete" using different types of aggregates that could enhances the shielding efficiency against ${\gamma}$-rays. 15 mixes were prepared using barite, magnetite, goethite and serpentine aggregates along with 10% silica fume, 20% fly ash and 30% blast furnace slag to total OPC content for each mix. The mixes were subjected to compressive strength at 7, 28 and 90 days. In some mixes, compressive strengths were also tested up to 90 days upon replacing sand with the fine portions of magnetite, barite and goethite. The mixes containing magnetite along with 10% SF reaches the highest compressive strength exceeding over M60 requirement by 14% after 28 days. Whereas, the compressive strength of concrete containing barite was very close to M60 and exceeds upon continuing for 90 days. Also, the compressive strength of high-performance concrete incorporating magnetite fine aggregate was significantly higher than that containing sand by 23%. On the other hand, concrete made with magnetite fine aggregate had higher physico-mechanical properties than that containing barite and goethite. High-performance concrete incorporating magnetite fine aggregate enhances the shielding efficiency against ${\gamma}$-rays.
The current Concrete Structural Design Code (2007) prescribe the equivalent rectangular stress block of the ACI 318 Building Code as concrete compressive stress distribution for design of concrete structures. The rectangular stress block may be enough for flexural strength calculation, but realistic stress-strain relationship is required for performance verification at selected limit state in performance-based design. Moreover, the ACI rectangular stress block provides non-conservative flexural strength for high strength concrete columns. Therefore a new stress distribution model is required for development of performance-based design code. This paper proposes a concrete compressive stress-strain distribution model for design and performance verification. The proposed model has a parabolic-rectangular shape, which is adopted by Eurocode 2 and Japanese Code (JSCE). It was developed by investigation of experimental test results conducted by the authors and other researchers. The test results cover high strength concrete as well as normal strength concrete. The stress distribution parameters of the proposed models are compared to those of the ACI 318 Building Code, Eurocode 2, Japanese Code (JSCE) and Canadian Code (CSA) as well as the test results.
Reinforcement corrosion is one of the major problems in the durability of reinforced concrete structures exposed to aggressive environments. Deterioration caused by reinforcement corrosion reduces the durability and the safety margin of concrete structures, causing excessive costs in managing these structures safely. This paper aims to investigate the effects of reinforcement corrosion on the load bearing capacity deterioration of the corroded reinforced concrete structures. A new analytical method is proposed to predict the crack growth of cover concrete and evaluate the residual strength of concrete structures with corroded reinforcement failing in bond. The structural performance indicators, such as concrete crack growth and flexural strength deterioration rate, are assumed to be a stochastic process for lifetime distribution modelling of structural performance deterioration over time during the life cycle. The Weibull life evolution model is employed for analysing lifetime reliability and estimating remaining useful life of the corroded concrete structures. The results for the worked example show that the proposed approach can provide a reliable method for lifetime performance assessment of the corroded reinforced concrete structures.
Recently, as concrete structure becomes high rise and large scaled tendency, demands for high performance concrete such as high strength, high fluidity and high durability has been increased. Even though high performance concrete performs high strength, workability and durability, compared to with those of normal concrete, it is more brittle than normal concrete. Accordingly, this paper is intended to improve toughness and compressive strength through investigating the mechanical properties of the high performance concrete confined with metal lath, glass fiber and carbon fiber laterally in the case of 30% and 40% of W/B. According to the results, the compressive strength increases in order of metal lath, carbon fiber and glass fiber. Considering strain-stress curve with the kinds of material for lateral confinement, while brittleness failure occurs in plain concrete just after maximum load, it is improved in some degree in confined concrete due to increase of the strain by increase of toughness. Elastic modulus increases slightly in case of confined concrete, like the compressing strength.

Adding fibers improves concrete performance in respect of strength and plasticity. There are numerous fibers for use in concrete that have different mechanical properties, and their combination in concrete changes its behavior. So, to investigate the behavior of the fiber reinforced concrete, an in vitro study was conducted on concrete with different fiber compositions including different ratios of steel, polypropylene and glass fibers with the volume of 1%. Two forms of fibers including single-stranded and aggregated fibers have been used for testing, and the specimens were tested for compressive strength and dividable tensile strength (splitting tensile) to determine the optimal ratio of the composition of fibers in the concrete reinforced by hybrid fibers. The results show that the concrete with a composition of steel fibers has a better performance than other compounds. In addition, by adding glass and propylene fibers to the composition of steel fibers, the strength of the samples is reduced. Also, if using the combination of fibers is required, the use of a combination of glass fibers with steel fibers will provide a better compressive strength and tensile strength than the combination of steel fibers with propylene.

This study is to relate the bond characteristics of CFRP rebar in high strength concrete incorporated with silica fume(SF) and metakaolin(MK). An direct bond test were performed to evaluate the effect of SF and MK on bond properties of high-strength concrete and CFRP rebar. The high strength concrete mix included four SF and MK mixes with 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%. Results of bond performance experiment in relation to pullout vs slip behavior of FRP rebar and high strength showed better performance of SF than MK. Also, the results showed the improved bond strength as replacement ratio of SF and MK increased. The relative bond strength in which $1.3{\sim}3.2$ of estimated values were obtained.

Recently, it increases in use of CFT(Concrete filled steel tube, below CFT) that is an excellent internal force and deformation capacity because material and method are required to be diversification and High-Performance according to increase the super-high structure. And it is proposed to use high-strength Concrete Filled steel Tube Column. But it is difficult quantitative evaluation about fire-resist performance of CFT because steel tube bind concrete. Also, the case of high strength CFT is feared that spalling occur inside. Therefore, this study made CFT specimen that determine the factor(which is strength of concrete) and then CFT column was exposed to heating controlled as closely as possible the ISO-834 standard fire curve. Also, it tried to analyze internal temperature through nonlinear transient heat flow analysis.
Existing building structures can easily present material mechanical properties which can largely vary even within a single structure. The current European Technical Code, Eurocode 8, does not provide specific instructions to account for high variability in mechanical properties. As a consequence of the high strength variability, at the occurrence of seismic events, the structure may evidence unexpected phenomena, like torsional effects, with larger experienced deformations and, in turn, with reduced seismic performance. This work is focused on the reduction in seismic performance due to the concrete strength variability. The analysis has been performed on a case-study, i.e., a 3D RC framed 4 storey building. A Normal distribution, compatible to a large available database, has been taken to represent the concrete strength domain. Different plan layouts, representative of realistic strength distributions, have been considered, and a statistical analysis has been performed on the induced reduction in seismic performance. The obtained results have been compared to the standard analysis as provided by Eurocode 8 for existing buildings. The comparison has shown that the Eurocode 8 provisions are not conservative for existing buildings having a large variability in concrete strength.
