DASH 기반 자유시점 비디오 스트리밍 시스템 구현 (Implementation Method for DASH-based Free-viewpoint Video Streaming System)

  • Free-viewpoint video (FVV) service provides multi viewpoints of contents and synthesizes intermediate video files which are not captured on some view angles so that enables users to watch as they choose wherever they want. Synthesizing video is necessary technique to provide FVV video service, because every video of the FVV contents for different view angles cannot be stored to the content server physically. For the reason, fast view synthesis can improve the quality of video service and increase user's satisfaction. One of the studies for FVV service, a method was proposed to transmit FVV service based on DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP). There is big advantage on using DASH that it is commonly used to transport video service. However, the method was only a conceptual proposal, so it is difficult to implement the system using the proposal. In this paper, we propose an implementation method to provide real-time FVV service smoothly. We suggest a system structure and operation method on the server and client side in detail, which is to be applicable to synthesize video quickly. Also, we suggest generating FVV service map additionally which controls a FVV service overall. We manage real-time information of the whole service through the service map. The service can be controlled by reducing the possible delay from network situation.

The Study of Comparing Korean Consumers' Attitudes Toward Spotify and MelOn: Using Semantic Network Analysis

  • This study examines Korean users' attitudes and emotions toward Melon and Spotify, which lead the music streaming market. We used Text Mining, Semantic Network Analysis, TF-IDF, Centrality, CONCOR, and Word2Vec analysis. As a result of the study, MelOn was used in a user's daily life. Based on Melon's advantages of providing various contents, the advantage is judged to have considerable competitiveness beyond the limits of the streaming app. However, the MelOn users had negative emotions such as anger, repulsion, and pressure. On the contrary, in the case of Spotify, users were highly interested in the music content. In particular, interest in foreign music was high, and users were also interested in stock investment. In addition, positive emotions such as interest and pleasure were higher than MelOn users, which could be interpreted as providing attractive services to Korean users. While previous studies have mainly focused on technical or personal factors, this study focuses on consumer reactions (online reviews) according to corporate strategies, and this point is the differentiation from others.

  • In this paper, we explore the historical development and revolutionary impact of music in mass media across various forms, including radio, television, film, and digital platforms. The evolution of music in mass media reflects significant technological and cultural shifts over the past century. From the early days of radio to the advent of digital streaming, music has played a crucial role in shaping the types of mass media. Early radio broadcasts in the 1920s relied on live performances and recordings to captivate audiences, establishing music as a central element of media content. The rise of television in the 1950s brought new opportunities for music integration, with theme songs, variety shows, and music videos becoming staples of TV programming. The film industry further revolutionized the use of music, with iconic scores enhancing cinematic storytelling and emotional depth. The digital revolution of the late 20th century introduced new formats and services, expanding access to music and transforming consumption patterns. Recently, streaming platforms and social media allow for personalized music experiences and direct artist-fan interactions. Through an analysis of technological advancements, this study highlights the integral role of music in enhancing narrative, evoking emotions, and creating cultural identities. We present our understanding of this evolution to provide insights into future trends and potential innovations in the integration of music with mass media, including the use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality to create immersive auditory experiences.

P2P 통신 병용 DASH 시스템의 피어 부하 분산 방안 연구 (A Peer Load Balancing Method for P2P-assisted DASH Systems)

  • 현재 유무선 인터넷을 통한 미디어 소비는 대부분 ISO/IEC MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group)에 의해 표준화된 미디어 스트리밍 방식인 DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) 또는 이와 유사한 형태의 적응형 미디어 스트리밍(adaptive media streaming) 기술에 의해 시행되고 있다. 이들은 모두 ISP(Internet Service Provider)가 웹서비스를 원활하게 제공하기 위해 충분히 설치할 수밖에 없는 HTTP 캐시(cache)에 크게 의존한다. 결과적으로 미디어 스트리밍 사용자 증가에 따라 CDN(Contents Delivery Network) 사업자의 서버 증설 부담 대신 ISP의 HTTP 캐시 증설 부담이 커지게 되었다. 이로 인해, ISP들은 이러한 HTTP 증설 비용을 보전하기 위해 CDN 사업자에게 미디어 트래픽 비용을 부과하게 되었다. 최근 이러한 비용을 줄이고자 P2P(Peer-to-Peer) 통신을 함께 사용하는(P2P-assisted) DASH 방식이 제안되었다. 또한 이러한 P2P 통신 병용 DASH 시스템의 효율을 극대화하여 CDN 사업자의 비용을 최대한 절감시키는 피어 선택 알고리듬도 연구되었다. 그러나 이 알고리듬은 선택된 피어에게 부담을 집중시키는 경향이 있다. 본 논문에서는 피어의 부담을 여러 피어들에게 분산시키면서도 CDN 사업자의 비용 절감 수준을 적절하게 유지하는 새로운 피어 선택 알고리듬을 제안하고, 이를 WebRTC(Web Real-Time Communication) 표준 API를 활용한 웹기반 스트리밍 시스템에 구현한 후, 실험을 통해 제안한 알고리듬의 효용성을 검증하였다.

A Study about A Design Process of Interactive Multimedia Content Based on a Cultural Background (for an Indonesian Folktale)

  • As the computer becomes a trend, interactive multimedia design can be one media to communicate the cultural knowledge. A folktale can be a powerful material to show a country's culture. In this project, we try to make the folktale content to be understood easily by implementing some cultural information background. The main aim of this project is to give a vision of the richness culture through the interactive multimedia technology. In this paper, we would like to show a flow map content, a streaming of design process and a visual interface design prototype. Finally, interactive multimedia design content is very useful for a transferring the richness culture because people tend to like a multimedia content. In order to make an effective interactive multimedia design content based on a cultural background, a designer should need to understand about users, culture, technology and the whole design process.

방송 및 개인 콘텐츠 편집을 위한 온라인 콘텐츠 편집 시스템 (Online Content Editing System to Edit Broadcasting and Personal Contents)

  • 본 논문에서는 방송 콘텐츠와 개인 콘텐츠를 편집하기 위한 새로운 온라인 콘텐츠 편집 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 편집 시스템은 콘텐츠를 저장하고 관리하기 위한 콘텐츠 관리 서버와 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 콘텐츠 편집을 수행하는 콘텐츠 편집기로 구성된다. 편집 대상 콘텐츠를 다운로드 받아 편집을 수행하는 기존의 콘텐츠 편집 방법과는 달리, 제안하는 편집 시스템에서는 콘텐츠 관리 서버에 저장되어 있는 콘텐츠를 콘텐츠 편집기에서 스트리밍 기술을 이용하여 재생하며 편집을 수행한다. 그러나 콘텐츠 편집기가 스트리밍 기술을 이용하여 콘텐츠의 전체 구간을 재생하며 편집을 수행하는 것은 비효율적이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 제안하는 편집 시스템에서는 편집 대상 콘텐츠의 씬 검출을 수행한 후, 검출된 씬 정보를 콘텐츠 재생 및 편집에 사용한다. 콘텐츠 편집기를 통해 콘텐츠 편집이 완료되면, 편집 정보는 메타데이터 형태로 콘텐츠 관리서버에 업로드된다. 제안하는 편집 시스템에서는 콘텐츠의 씬 정보와 편집 정보가 메타데이터 형태로만 존재하며, 씬 단위 혹은 편집 분절 단위의 물리적인 콘텐츠 분할은 수행되지 않는다. 구현 결과는 제안한 편집 시스템이 편집 대상 콘텐츠를 다운로드한 후 편집하는 기존의 콘텐츠 편집 방법을 사용하지 않고서도 기존의 방법과 유사한 성능을 제공함을 보여준다.

  • Over the last few years, streaming audio and video content on Internet sites has increased at unprecedented rates. The predominant method of delivering video over the current Internet is video streaming such as SureStream or Intelligent Stream. Since each method provides the client with only one data stream from one server, it often suffers from poor qualify of pictures in the case of network link congestion. In this paper, we propose a novel method of delivering video stream based on wavelet to a client by utilizing multi-threaded parallel connections from the client to multiple servers and to provides a better way to address the scalability functionalities. The experimental results show that the video quality delivered by the proposed multithreaded stream could significantly be improved over the conventional single video stream methods.

  • In this paper, an adaptive algorithm is proposed in streaming MPEG-4 contents with fluctuating resource amount such as throughput of network conditions. MPEG-4 is the international standard for audiovisual presentation which is composed of object based media streams. The proposed technique provides the media stream corresponding an object with multiple media streams with different qualities and bit rate in order to support object based scalability to the MPEG-4 content. In addition, making the object streams adaptable, a feasible stream set selected from the multiple streams for transmission with optimal quality in the form of the current status.

Analysis of Aggregated HTTP-based Video Traffic

  • Increase of hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP)-based video popularity causes that broadband and Internet service providers' links transmit mainly multimedia content. Network planning, traffic engineering or congestion control requires understanding of the statistical properties of network traffic; therefore, it is desirable to investigate the characteristic of traffic traces generated, among others, by systems which employ adaptive bit-rate streaming. In our work, we investigate traffic originating from 120 client-server pairs, situated in an emulated laboratory environment, and multiplexed onto a single network link. We show that the structure of the traffic is distinct from the structure generated by first and second generation of HTTP video systems, and furthermore, not similar to the structure of general Internet traffic. The obtained traffic exhibits negative correlations, anti-persistence, and its distribution function is skewed to the right. Furthermore, we show that the traffic generated by clients employing the same or similar play-out strategies is positively correlated and synchronised (clustered), whereas traffic originated from different play-out strategies shows negative or no correlations.

합성절연유의 전기적 특성에 미치는 BTA의 영향 (The Influence of the BTA on Electrical Properties of Synthetic Fluids)

  • Synthetic fluid, class 7 group 2, as an insulating and cooling material is selected as. specimen, arid it is studied for the physical and electrical properties. Also, Benzotriazole(following as BT A) known as a suppressant of streaming electrification is added to it, and the change of physical and electrical properties by addition of BT A is investigated. From the spectrum of FT-IR, it is confirmed that the absorption peak in wavenumbers $3400{\sim}3450[cm^{-1}]$ is small or disappears when BTA is added. AC breakdown strength and volume resistivity of each specimen are investigated. It is considered that the effective content of BTA is about 10[ppm] for the suppression of electrification in this experiment.
