Due to rapid advances in science and technology and peoples life value, multi-dimensional functionality of the house has been possible and demanded. Among them, intellectual function and health support function appeared prominent and the former can support the later. The purpose of this study was to delineate health support planning features for smart home. Thirty six planning elements were extracted for initial pool for survey to find out what consumers demanded. Two hundred and nine data were collected through the web-survey. Important planning features were identified in relation to three different health dimensions that is physical/physiological, psychological, and social health. Generally consumers' responses were positive for all features. Major health friendly features highly demanded by consumers were found gas detect system, security system, and a call alarm system. The result of this study is expected to be used as a basic reference to develop strategies for smart home and to grasp current housing culture.

As the speed of technological changes increase with the investment requirements steadily expanding, private firms and government-funded research institutes experience similar pressures with respect to the necessity of risk reduction and technological alliances in R&D activities. This paper first attempts to review previous research in managing R&D projects with large, risky, and long-term investment requirements. Our primary focus is placed on the "fuzzy front-end" (FFE) projects with uncertainties at the investigation and planning stages. We analyze various elements that create FFE conditions, classify them into basic constructs, and suggest tools and methods to deal with FFE conditions. The findings suggest that both initial FFE conditions and the effectiveness of FFE management affect the performance of the project later on, and thus, especially for large projects, we must deal with FFE seriously in a comprehensive manner. We utilize in-depth panel interviews and case studies to approach the research questions.

This paper explores the features, patterns and strategies of innovation in knowledge intensive service (KIS) suppliers in Korea. It was found that characteristics of service innovation and manufacturing innovation tend to converge. Also, diverging elements were found particularly in organizational dimension in the innovation of the service sector. Investigation into the case of information and communication technology (ICT) services revealed that KIS suppliers are active in innovation. They obtained ideas required for their innovations from their knowledge activities inside firms and in the process of interaction with user firms. Large KIS suppliers are to a great extent interested in R&D for innovation, while small and medium suppliers are interested in developmental work. Weak knowledge flow was found between KIS suppliers and the public sector like universities and public research institutes.

There are plenty of optimization models for the signal-system of a single intersection and area traffic. Some of those models are adopted for the real traffic signal control system. The simulators for a single crossroad have been developed, so that we could evaluate optimization models and traffic control systems. However, the simulators for the area traffic are still being developed. Therefore, there are many limitations in the analysis and evaluation for area traffic control system. The area traffic is consisted of several intersections which are very complicated and many traffic strategies are adopted for the control system. This paper features an effective area traffic control system based on the High Lever Architecture(HLA). In this paper, we discuss the design of HLA-based area traffic control simulation. We describe technical motivations for the HLA, the key elements of the architecture and how they are minimum and essential to the goal of reuse and interoperability. A distributed simulation with HLA/RTI provides stable and satisfactory experimental results. Moreover, the prototype traffic control system provides reliable accomplishment compared to the NETSIM and TRANSYT-7F models.

This paper describes the new trends of fashion industry in the era of digital media and Internet paradigm, where fashion is no longer just static contents. Fashion becomes crucial and dynamic contents for infotainment, mobile Internet, and digital media. As therefore, the fashion industry could be positioned as fashion information industry and key elements of fashion communication. In the future, fashion education should be repositioned as dynamic Intermediary not only for traditional textile design, costume design, and merchandising, but also for dynamic fashion information provider, fashion communication and fashion-oriented media related to digital Information, and Internet. As a case study, we briefly describe the successful co-marketing strategies of world-class luxury fashion brands, fashion media, and Internet service provider.

The mam purpose of this study is to find out how perceived risk elements influence to customers' perceived value and repurchase intention in the electronic commerce environment. To achieve the goal, we set 6 sub-dimensions - privacy risk, social risk, time loss risk, economic risk, psychological risk, and performance risk - based on comprehensive consideration of related studies, and established a research model included 2 factors such as perceived value and repurchase intention to measure performance in internet shopping malls. From 174 customers of the electronic commerce shopping malls survey data have been collected and analyzed based on the covariance structural model method. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Firstly, five perceived risk characteristics of privacy risk, time loss risk, economic risk, psychological risk, and performance risk are significantly positive effect on perceived value. Secondly, perceived value IS very significantly related to repurchase intention in electronic commerce shopping malls. Consequently, we discussed the strategies to create perceived value and repurchase intention in electronic commerce environment. Also we suggested the implications and further research directions.

In Korea, livestock has grown into the most value-added business in the agricultural and forest industry. But due to the recent outbreak of deadly infectious diseases such as foot-and-mount disease and avian influenza (AI), the demand for IT-enabled cutting-edge management system is getting stronger. As for humans, pilot projects and researches concerning U-healthcare have been carried out since early 2000. So this study explored the current progress of U-healthcare introduction, and suggested the strategies to develop technologies of collecting, processing, and utilizing information; to apply elements for a service model development and prioritization; to provide policy and institutional support. Therefore it is expected to vitalize the livestock U-healthcare in the future through continuous study based on these results.

In this study, we focused on 'Adaptive Reuse', which has the concepts of space reconstitution and social and cultural regeneration, so that previously constructed highrise buildings can accommodate various changes in modern society, and new spatial design was developed based on the characteristics of adaptive reuse. We sought to present the concept and direction, detailed strategies, and architectural response elements of space reconstitution for the purpose of realizing the typical spatial reorganization required by modern society and seeking directions and methods of space reconstitution that can be applied to future society. The purpose is to do so.

This study examines the main elements, concepts, and directions of 'cultural accessibility' in the field of cultural arts education through the French case. Above all, 'cultural accessibility' is viewed from the perspective of the problems of 'social exclusion' and the corresponding 'participation'. We discuss strategies for applying 'cultural accessibility' through French policy discussions. France is implementing this consistent policy structure through the development of its local self-government system. We first look at the current status of French cultural policy and cultural accessibility, and the participation. Next, we will discuss separately into the cultural arts education of the central government and those of local governments. For application to Korea, we propose the application of education to apply 'culture of public values', the establishment of autonomy in cultural arts education, and the application of a dual strategy for public advocacy.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the more efficient system for management in urban park through the investigation of the managemental condition. Research sites for managemental condition were 9 municipal park managemental offices in Seoul, Pusan and Taegu. The degree of the managemental state in these parks was generally passive and low. So, each of them had to consider the ways how to buy private-owned sites, to standardize facility maintenance, to characterize the managemental objects, to enlarge managemental personnels and systems, to apply entrusting management, to plan user-service strategies and to shorten expenditures. Particularly the positive managemental improvement in user control was demanded to cope with the changing social needs. In long term, they had to develop basic elements for the reasonable park management, clear park maps, area of facilities, the event, citizen participation, budgets and etc., and had to prepare the middle-long term management plan and the precise analysis to the managemental criteria.
