  • Since the manufacturing machines containing information processing capacity by development of ME technology are developed and distributed from the advanced nations, manufacturing automation with manufacturing method which keeps flexibility and productivity is supplied broadly. An introduction of manufacturing automation technology is necessary to solve difficult domestic industry environment due to international competitiveness weakness of products. The aim of this is to search for the successful factors of the manufacturing business which uses too much technology of manufacturing automation and to observe the difference of the successful factors which influence to introduction performance according to the introduction type of automation technology and the strategic type through the empirical analysis.

  • In recent years, the number of public e-Marketplaces have grown according to the leap-frogging advancement of network technology based on open communication architecture named Internet. However, the transaction volume through public e-Marketplaces have been an immaterial increase, and some well-known sites closed their businesses. This study proposes the public e-Marketplace as an e-Business system which has been recognized the most strategic application of business information technologies (Barrett & Konsynski, 1982; Cash & Konsynski, 1985), and suggests some future strategic and technological direction which supports a firm's transaction infrastructure under internet architecture. For this purpose, it reviews evolution of business information technologies.

  • As Internet CIS technology keeps improving dramatically, its use on ordinary people is widely expanded. Informatization of local government is accelerated by the introduction of e-government policy with the purpose of providing public information to the citizen. According to this, construction of Internet homepage is increasing very rapidly by each department of local government. However, the public information service using Internet GIS is very limited. In this study, we propose how to provide the regional information by using Internet GIS by analyzing the following cases; 1) homepages using GIS technology in public and private sectors in case of Seoul, 2) homepages using GIS of foreign local governments, 3) the Seoul Metropolitan government' tasks and data which are important in terms of information service to the citizen. In results of the analysis, we propose a strategic plan of construction of Internet CIS homepage.

  • Purpose: Consumers can experience better service for distribution of products with payment technology such as QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) compared to conventional purchase methods. This research aims to determine the experience of QRIS service users in Indonesia. Perceived Usefulness, Ease of Use, and Perceived Security were independent factors. Behavioral Intention to Use is the dependent variable. Furthermore, Word of Mouth Attitude is an intervening variable. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: Involving active QRIS users in a survey-based quantitative study in Indonesia. A survey sample of 400 people was taken from data records of 30.87 million QRIS users in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS. Results: Show that Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use significantly impact Attitudes Word of Mouth, and Behavioral Intention to Use. This research also found that Behavioral Intention to Use does not significantly impact Perceived Security. Conclusion: QRIS, as a revolutionary innovation, offers faster payments than previous methods, with a payment time of no more than one minute. QRIS is seen as valuable, simple, and safe, disseminating information to the public and continuing to use QRIS. The implications of this research are very significant in accelerating the flow of distribution of goods and services and facilitating transactions.

  • This paper posits that arm's length buyer-supplier relationship as the intermediate type between market exchange relations and strategic partnership might be advisable, and information technology may have a role as a mechanism actualizing the effects of such arm's length relationship by strategic supply-line diversification. Based on the theoretical analysis on interactive feedback relationships among IT level, buyer-supplier relationships, and supply chain structure, we suggest a set of advisable buyer-supplier relationship type for efficient supply chain management. Also, doing so would be helpful in suggesting a dynamic IT investment and adoption model appropriate for the establishment of productive buyer-supplier relationship, and further in providing theoretical foundations and practical guidelines on the role and function of B-to-B E-commerce for efficient SC integration.

  • Recently, many organizations in various industries have introduced e-businesses for the purpose of adding value to their businesses. However, due to no comparable business models to e-business in the past, there are no reliable yardsticks to predict the performance of an e-business. This paper considers an environmental change analysis as a means to resolve this difficulty. System Dynamics (SD) could be a useful tool to generate effective results by examining the e-business model. SD model is developed to analyze the effects of an e-sales channel which was appended to the existing sales channels in the steel manufacturing industry. The results show an increase in average price and sales volume through the use of an auction process on the e-marketplace. Stocking expenses are reduced as well by the increase of the sales turnover. A possible scenario was adopted to the developed simulation model and investigated strategic issues to draw desirable strategies with market changes.

  • The brand name is considered as an essential part of the brand and the foundation for any marketing communication efforts. The tremendous and ever in creasing cost associated with new brand introductions has prompted companies to take great care in the creation, pretesting, developing, and managing of new brands. Creating new brand name is not an easy task. A brand name should appeal to the customer while at the same time clear trademark registration - two goals that can sometimes be conflicting. This study is on the strategic establishment with success e-brand for e-business.

  • The characteristics of the intellectual property right(IPR) conflict with standardization. This is because standardization aims to achieve the common use of technology while IPRs aim to protect the proprietary right on technology. The license to use IPR should be granted so that standards can be used without an infringement. IPR policies have common characteristics in most parts of their contents and also different application methodologies. The ultimate object of IPR policy is to receive license grant. In this paper, significant typical IPR policies of main standardization organizations are comparatively analyzed. The overall objective of the IPR policy is to make strategic environment for license grant. IPR disclosure becomes the best practice to acquire license grant. With this practice, the action to licensing refusal becomes one of the main strategic factors of IPR policies.

  • In today's competitive environment, Information Technology is a resource of primary importance to most organizations. This paper compares Korea's IT maturity levels with respect to those of other major nations. For this research, we used an empirical approach, based on experts surveys. IT classification framework proposed by ETRI is adopted to organize the responses. The results of this study can be used for strategic IT planning by the government.

  • Recently, the importance of ISP(Information System Planning) has been increased because of rapid change and severe competition in business environments. Furthermore, the role of IS in the organization has included not only the supportive activities but also the strategic activities. Organizations can get the competitive advantages through the strategic use of IT by establishing effective and systematic ISP implementation. The main focus of this study is investigate the relationship among three subunits(organizational factors, the role of IS and effective ISP) based on the contingent settings which the process of ISP is implemented. The reasons that conceptual framework of this study is based on the contingent theory are as follow: First, ISP process itself has a series of complicated work which various elements in a company are involved. ISP externally must have the process to evaluate information technology (technology related with IS). Internally ISP process has a serious of works including determining information requirements to develop successful IS for other functional departments and identifying strategic opportunity of IS aligned with business strategy. Secondly, the activity of ISP is occurring on the continual basis. Business environments in which ISP process has implemented are changing continuously. Specific ISP methodology which was appropriate in a certain period of time does not work any more because of the rapid changes in business environments. For this reason managers can hardly expect successful ISP without considering external environments or internal environments such as organizational or management side. For this study, 240 survey questionnaires were mailed and 71 questionnaires were returned. 57 samples were used for the final analysis and 14 samples were excluded from analysis in that they didn't exercise official and systematic ISP. As the result of analysis, among the internal factors(organizational size, time frame of decision making, budget, management style, organizational culture) organizational culture, management style and time frame of decision making are identified as contingent factors on the effective ISP. The result of this study may have meaning in suggesting the way to develop effective ISP through the formalization of business process, more favorable users attitude toward IS and selection of an appropriate ISP methodology.
