고정도 엔진 지압계에 관한 연구 (1) <온도 특성에 의한 영점이동의 보상> (A Study on the Precision Engine Indicatior(I) (Zero-shift Compensation of the Engine Indicator with a Electronic Device))

  • Development of modern internal combustion engine requires more precise indicator. In the case of strain gage-strain tube type indicator, thermal expansion of the indicator's fixed part makes zero-shift in spite of water cooling. Therefore, the authors analyzed the cause of zero-shift phenomenon on strain gage-strain tube type indicator and proposed a new device to compensate the zero-shift of indicator by electrical method without detoriorating the dynamic charcteristic. As the results, we found that the zero-shift is varied linearlly according to temperature variation of the indicator's fixed part and appling a new device, we can improve the zero-shift of indicator about 0.63% (0.63 kg/$cm^2$) of full scale, though we got 10% of it without the device at the cylinder head operating temperature (c.a. $200^{\circ}C$).

세라믹코팅재의 잔류응력 해석 (Residual Stresses Analysis of Ceramic Coating Materials)

  • In the present work, the measurement method of residual stresses in thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) which are received the thermal shock is performed numerically. For this, the internal residual stresses are predicted by commercial FEM software ABAQUS because the hole drilling strain gage method measures residual stresses only near the surface of a material. As the results of this study, the residual stresses are linearly increased when the surface temperatures are over $1,200^{\circ}C$. It is also found that the values of residual stress are increased as the coating thickness is thin.

  • In order to examine the effect of anisotropy and stress ratio on fatigue crack propagation rate and opening-closing behavior and also arrest behavior by single tension peak overload, the fatigue tests of constant amplitude atress and single tension peak overload adding to cycle of constant amplitude were carried out in stress ratio of -0.4, -0.2, and 0.4 with materials of T-L and L-T directions in 2024-T3 aluminum alloy plate. Crack opening-closing begavior were measured by the compliance method using COD gage and strain gage. In case of the crack opening-closing behavior was measured by strain gage, the effect of stress ratio is unchangeable. But in the case of COD gage, that is remarkably decreased. Fictitious effective stress intensity factor(U sub(f)) and effective stress intensity factor ratio(U) in L-T direction was higher than those in T-L direction and also threshold arrest overload ratio incrased as stress ratio decreased and that of T-L direction was higher than that in L-T direction.

  • The importance of sensing the force and torque with arbitrary direction and magnitude is becoming more crucial for robotic applications and manufacturing automations. Recently, several designs of a multi-axis force-torque sensor have been tried to sense this force and torque. This paper deals mainly with the signal processing of a six-axis force-torque sensor using cross-shaped elastic structures with circular holes. In this paper, we show principle of sensing force and torque, the signal processing methodology, and efficient methods of seeking strain gage positions in the sensor structure. The validity of the proposed method is shown via experiments.

  • 인버터로 구동되는 측정을 일반적인 상용전원에서 널리 이용되고 있는 T형 등가회로를 이용하여 고정자 저항 실험, 무부하 및 구속 실험 등을 통하여 산정하였으며, 토크 특성 및 전류 측정은 스트레인 게이지(strain gage) 및 홀 센서(hall sensor)블 이용하였다. 1마력 3상농형 유도전동기를 실험에 이용하였으며 실험 측정값의 유효성을 입증하기 위하여 공장 설계값과 비교하였다.

  • Shape memory is physical phenomenon which a platically metal is restored to its original shape by a solid state phase change by heating. TiNi alloy the most effective material in the shape memory alloy(SMA). To study(measure) recovery stress of intelligent composite. Ti50-Ni50 shape memory matrix with prestrain SMA fiber. When SMA fiber of the intelligent composite is heated over austenite starting temperature(As) by electric heating. a recovery stress are generated. The recovery stress of the intelligent composite was measured by strain gage or photoelastic experiment. Measuring method of recovery stress by photoelastic experiment was developed in this research. It was certified that photoelastic experiment was more effective and more precise than strain gage method in the measurement of recovery stress.

현장계측을 통한 교량상 분기기 축력 분석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of the axial force in CWR connected with turnout by means of the field measurement)

  • The demand on a turnout layed on a bridge is rising owing to the increasing number of stations on the viaduct. And also the demand on a turnout with CWR is rising to upgrade running speed of the passing train. A CWR connected with turnout is subjected to additional axial force induced by the actions due to change in temperature, braking and starting force, and bending of the deck. But magnitude and distribution of the axial force in rails of turnout is not clear yet. So, in this study, a field measurement was conducted to know them. The strain gage method was adopted for field test. The FBG sensor for the strain measurement was used to ensure stability of test value and durability of gage for long term. It is expected that we can get data on the axial force in rail connected with turnout with respect to seasonal temperature change by the established field test system.

  • A new method was investigated to measure the high current in resistance welding processes. A measuring unit was developed by using a strain gage attached on the outer surface of a steel ring. The steel ring was placed around a section of the secondary loop of the welding machine, and was deformed by electro-magnetic forces induced by the high welding current. The circumferential constituent of the ring deformation was then used to obtain a signal voltage proportional to the secondary welding current. The strain gage signal of ring deformation is enough to determine the welding current in resistance spot welding, especially when welded with direct current.

파이프 원주방향 용접부의 잔류응력 연구 (A study on the residual stresses in circumferential welds of the pipes)

  • The existence of residual stress in the circumferential butt welded pipes is one of the most important problems concerning stress corrosion cracking in service. In this paper, the residual stress distributions in three kinds of circumferential butt welded pipes were measured by the hole drilling strain gage method and calculation using finite element method is performed and its results are compared with the experiments. At the inner surface of the pipe region near the center line of welding is under high tensile residual stress. However, as the distance from the center line of welding increases, the tensile component decreases and finally becomes compressive residual stress at region far away from the center line of welding. The longitudinal residual stress at the outer surface is compressive regardless of the diameter of pipe and the circumferential stress is changed rom compressive to tensile as pipe diameter increases. The results also demonstrate that the residual stress is mainly caused by self restraint bending force in the pipe welding.
