A study of animation story-telling technique based on the archtype myth - Focus on " Oneuli" directed by Lee Sung-gang- (원형신화를 모티브로 한 애니메이션 스토리텔링 기법 연구 -이성강 감독의 "오늘이"를 중심으로-)

  • Fairy tales starting with the phrase 'Once upon a time' have been told throughout generations to generations. These stories of the past started with the history of mankind, and are constantly recreated under the names of legends, fables and myths. Through understanding the archetypes frequently occurring in legends and story telling techniques used to visualize them, the possibility of better recreation of stories and animations are sought. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the original form of archetypical Jeju epic dance lyrics are adjusted accordingly to meet the author's intention as it transforms into the modern animation 'Oneuli' By this comparative analysis, the utilization of archetypes and mythic motifs in the creation of animation are expected to enhance the interactions with the audiences beyond the border and age.

  • The various kinds of consumption belong to a general category and at the same time the expression of most basic aspiration in the human life. Since the ancient times, the consuming activities have lasted with the other basic activities and the consuming space conducting consumption has developed as physical devices along with the human history. Those companies that have been given attention and getting favorable impression currently being selected by the consumers are now concentrated on the storytelling marketing. The storytelling marketing is that the emotion-oriented marketing activities give consumers the opportunities to enjoy the product contained stories to put the stories to marketing activities. It approaches to consumer with human story emotionally rather than rationally and heart rather than mind. Recently, the architecture has become artistic either it was linked and contacted media or part of marketing. We think that the story telling marketing is the eternal triangle among art, architecture and marketing that is a propensity or movement to interior at this time. I found out that the storytelling marketing methodology is able to touch the consumer's heart and stimulate consumption aspiration that makes new circumstances and experience expressing space. And for that, effective marketing methodology is to give the consumers a more exciting and enjoyable motivation in accord with the modern society to give companies positive image to customers and accordingly for the companies to gain profits. The story telling space that is filled with ideas which produce new circumstance and experience using the established narrative and theme will be required continuously and able to develop in the future.

An Edutainment Mon-E Robot for Young Children (유아용 에듀테인먼트 Mon-E로봇)

  • This paper presents an edutainment robot for young children. The edutainment robot called 'Mon-e' has developed by the Central R&D Laboratory at KT. The main services of the Mon-E robot are autonomous moving service, object card and story book telling service and videophone service. The RFID technology was introduced for easy interface to young children. The face of Mon-E robot is mounted with an RFID reader. The RFID tag is pasted on story book and object card. If you approach a book or an object card to the face of Mon-E, the Mon-E robot recognizes the identified code and plays its service. In autonomous moving, if the Mon-E robot meets obstacles, it moves back and turns left or right or half rotation. In videophone service, if young children approach an RFID card to the Mon-E, the Mon-E can make a call to the specific number, which is contained in the RFID card. The developed Mon-E robot has tested in real world environment and is evaluated young children and their parents. In the result of evaluation, the feeling of satisfaction was high to main services of Mon-E robot.

Entertainment Tourist's Pursuit Values -Focus on Perfomance Arts- (엔터테인먼트관광자의 가치추구 -공연예술을 중심으로-)

  • This study seeks to identify the Entertainment tourist's pursuit values using means-ends chain theory. Data collection for this study is from July to October, 2012 in Jeju island. The procedure, Soft Laddering involves a series of one-on-one deep interviews with tourists who enjoyed performance arts. To carry out this study, first of all, contents analysis was employed to interview results. Second, Implication Matrix was made by contents analysis which showed direct and indirect relations. Finally, HVM was mapped for value systems. The results showed that Entertainment tourist's pursuit values were classified resulting in three values: Aesthetics, Communication with others, Pleasure. Especially in entertainment tourism, the major attributes was fun; the consequences was sensorial pleasure; the ultimate pursuit values was pleasure. These results support that entertainment tourists is homo ludens and entertainment tourism's marketer should concentrate on story-watching than story-telling.

Historiography of TV Documentary (TV의 젠더 역사쓰기의 가능성과 한계: 역사다큐멘터리를 중심으로)

  • This study analysed the narrative of and , two history documentary broadcasted on KBS, in terms of story-telling and discourse. And it also examined whether TV as mass media could provide an alternative interpretation against the dominant historical awareness. As a result, both programmes showed limitations on representing subversive point of view to the dominant ideology. At the story-telling level, firstly, they represented in a way of male-hero narrative though they were describing the history of woman, and while representing woman as a public figure they eliminated her feminity and individuality. Secondly, before evaluating woman as a historic figure they previously appreciated her appearance in a male-point of view. Thirdly, although they were telling the story of woman in a political view, they focused on love triangle, therefore failed to make her as a public figure. The discourses of both programmes were anchoring the existing historical interpretation instead of offering an alternative historical imagination. The narrator who were telling history at the studio in a omniscient viewpoint took a role as a meaning definer, placed at the highest rank in the hierarchy of discourse structure. Especially in , the dramatized images to cover lack of visual data helped anchor the patriarchal narrative and reduced the possibility of subversive interpretation on historic figure.

A Case Study on the Application of Creative Story Writing Project on Elementary Pre service Teachers (지구과학 창의적 이야기 쓰기 프로젝트 : 초등 예비교사들의 적용 사례 연구)

  • This study was conducted among 52 elementary pre service teachers not majoring in the natural sciences, who were taking Earth Science as an elective course at the University of Education located in central Korea. These elementary pre service teachers participated in story writing on the subject of earth system cycles over eight occasions. Changes in their understanding of the Earth's cycles were verified by comparing mind mapping exercises performed before and after the story writing. Afterwards, 43 out of the 52 subjects volunteered for structured interviews, in which they performed story-telling exercises. This study presents examples of story analysis that uses a variation of the wheel-shaped story map, and proposes story mapping as a preferred method of analysis. Before and after creative story writing activities, pre service teachers' mind mapping is analyzed to study possible positive changes. This study identified a gap between the instructional contents of the Earth system unit included in the 7th and current revised school curriculums on the one hand, and the conceptions expressed by the pre service teachers who studied these contents on the other.

  • There has been a big need of Safety Education for the power plants with a high risk due to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and the tragic accident of Sewol Ferry. The object of this research is for studying ways of developing contents for customized Power Plants Safety Education applied with 'Story Viewing' technology in order to improve the present format of Power Plant Safety Education based on hard copied documents so as to prevent human mistakes because of lack of system and ability of initial response which come from safety frigidity shown in the case of Sewol Accident. 'Story-viewing' applied to Power Plant Safety Education is the methodology to enhance information communicability utilizing IT/Visualization technology combined with Story Telling that is an effective propagation way.

  • This study is for making new story contents in animation fields through recent theater's animation trends. It is the Anti-Disney which is totally different from the attribute of Disney animation. It has three results as following. The first, Anti-Disneymation reveals the realistic America's problems such as violence, adolescent's loneliness, the slums of black people, etc. Next, animation's main target changed from just for child to for adults using various story themes. Also, the main characters are no longer beautiful and charming one like Disney animation's one and it makes we look at the matter woman another angle and makes totally different story telling. By the results above, we might to making an effort in creating Korean style animation with lyrical expression and cultural assets.

  • This study aims to figure out the first-class geomorphic resources included in Yeongyang map sheet. The fieldwork shows that the first-class geomorphic resources are found mainly along the Banbyeoncheon(incised meander) and The Soojungsa(temple) valley that retain beautiful landscapes such as river cliff(including river bluff), water fall, pot hole. tafoni, canyon Such geomorphic resources are highly concerned with Bulguksa intrusive rocks (Cretaceous). Especially The Seonbawi and The Namipo(Yeongyang county), The Punghojung and its vicinities (Cheongsong county), and The Soojungsa(temple) valley are important in viewpoint of story telling tour marketing.

Story telling means that the explanation or interpretation of tour guide or guide book of the tourist spots, they role as important pull factor which can determine the image of tourism destination.
