New Seniors' Information Sources, Store Selection Criteria, and Sales Associates' Attributes for Clothing: Based on Their Clothing Involvement

  • This study examines female new seniors' clothing consumption behaviors, such as their information sources, clothing store selection criteria, and perceived importance of sales associates' attributes, based on their level of clothing involvement. A face-to-face survey was conducted through a market research firm. The subjects of this study were female adults in their 50s and 60s residing in the Seoul metro area (N=197). Significant differences were found in the clothing consuming behaviors of new seniors depending on their clothing involvement(CI). High-CI new seniors tended to place more importance on both personal and non-personal information sources than low-CI new seniors. High-CI new seniors place importance both "merchandise assortment and store atmosphere" and "sales associates and service" when they select stores for clothing than low-CI new seniors. In terms of sales associates' attributes, high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on customer-orientation than medium- and low-CI groups. Medium- and high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on appearance than low-CI groups. However, there were no significant statistical differences for professional expertise among the three different CI groups.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare clothing attitude and clothing purchase behavior of two age groups of adult men,- college students and middle aged. Four aspects of clothing attitude (fashion interest, status symbol, conformity, practicality/comfort) were assessed with 20 Likert type questionnaires adapted from the previous researches. Four aspects of purchase behavior(information sources used, store patronage, importance of store attributes, clothing selection creteria for occasions) were measured with forced choice questionnaire developed or adapted from previous researches. The questionnaire were administrated to 512 male college students and middle aged men. The data were analysed using frequency, percentage, and t-test. The major findings drawn from this study were as follows : 1. Clothing comfort among four aspects of clothing attitude according to the age group was that middle-aged men showed higher conformity than college students. 2. For the information source for apparel purchase, college students used consumer dominated information source while middle-aged men used market dominated information source. 3. For apparel purchase, students preferred brand franchise store, and factory outlet/off-price store, while middle-aged preferred department store and custom-made. Among six store attributes, convenience and price were the most important attributes to the students, while convenience and high quality to the middle aged. 4. The most important clothing selection creteria for formal occasion (job interview, wedding ceremony) was dignity. Comfort/practicality were important creteria for both of leisure occasion and daily attendance (office, school).

The Effect of Convenience Store Dessert on Consumers Value and Satisfaction

  • This study aims to investigate what selection attributes of customer value are more crucial when consumers choose the dessert at convenience store, which is the fastest growing retail format in Korea recently. Factors considered to be important when customers buy dessert, such as economics, diversity, convenience, and safety were examined and also relationship between customer value and satisfaction was analyzed. The survey was conducted through online (including SNS) from April 6, 2019 to April 30, 2019. A total of 303 questionnaires were used for empirical analysis. Factor analysis was performed to verify the validity and reliability of the measured variables. And the structural equation model (SEM) was used as a statistical method for hypothesis testing. As a result, factors as 'diversity', 'safety' were revealed to significantly affect hedonic customer value, while 'convenience' was shown to affect utilitarian customer value significantly. In addition, the path that customer value leads to satisfaction was also found to be significant. The result of the study suggests that selection attributes of convenience store dessert and providing meaningful implications of related hedonic and utilitarian values when customers purchase dessert at convenience store. This study provided practical implications for managers of the fiercely competitive dessert industry.

상품진열이 중간의 상품선택에 미치는 영향 -다단계 판매회사의 생필품 매장들 중심으로- (The Effects of Merchandise Display on Distributor's Merchandise Selection -Focused on Multi-Level Marketing Company-)

  • 다원적 회원조직으로 운영되는 다단계판매회사의 주고객은 다단제판매회사로부터 구입한 상품들 다른 회원에게 재판매하는 독립적인 사업주체인 중간상(IBO)인데 이들은 일반 중간상과는 달리 정쟁제품이 없는 자사 매장에서 자사 상품만을 배타적으로 구입해야하고 취급상품의 종류, 가격, 기능 등에 대해서 상세한 정보를 가지고 있다는 특징이 있다. 일종의 도매상 기능을 수행하는 이들을 대상으로 상품을 판매하는 다단계판매회사가 그들 상품의 진열방법 예컨대 진열량, 진열높이, 진열위치, 관련상품진열 등을 달리함에 따라 매출액에 변화를 줄 수 있는지에 대한 연구나 관심은 거의 없었다. 본 연구는 매장규모가 다른 대규모 증간규모 소규모 점포 각각에 대해 진일방법에 차이를 두었을 때 다단계판매회사의 매출액에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 실험을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 점포규모와 상품진열방식 두 변수의 상호작용에 의한 매출 변화를 살펴 본 결과 매출액에 변화가 없었다. 둘째, 이에 따라 주효과만를 분석한 결과 점포규모는 매출에 영향을 주고 셋째, 상품진일방식 중 진열량, 진열높이, 진열위치는 매출에 영향을 주지 않지만 관련상품진열은 매출에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 파악되었다. 넷째, 상품진열만을 독립변수로 하여 추가 분석을 실시한 결과 대규모 매장의 경우 진열량을 제외한 진열위치와 진열높이, 관련상품진열 모두가 매출에 유의한 영향를 주는 것으로 나타났다.

라이프스타일에 따른 점포선택과 추천의사에 미치는 영향 - 안경원을 중심으로 - (Influences on Store Selection and Recommendation Intention According to Lifestyles - Centered on Optical Shops -)

  • 목적: 안경원을 방문하는 고객들의 라이프스타일이 "안경원 선택"에 미치는 영향과 "추천의사"에 미치는 영향, 그리고 "안경원 선택 속성"이 "추천의사"에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 안경원의 효과적인 마케팅 전략을 제공하고자 한다. 방법: 2014년 1월 1일부터 6월 30일 사이에 서울 및 경기북부지역의 안경원을 방문한 고객을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, SPSS v.20.0 통계 패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과: 고객들의 안경원 선택에 영향을 미치는 라이프스타일 요인들의 순서는 "안정추구 지향", "목표 지향", "문화활동 지향"등의 순으로 나타났으며, 추천의사에 영향을 미치는 가치관 요인의 순서는 "안정추구 지향", "건강추구 지향" 등의 순으로 나타났고, "안경원 선택" 요인들 중에서는 "고객응대"의 항목이 "추천의사"에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 다양해진 고객의 라이프스타일 유형별 마케팅 활동을 전개해야 한다. "안정추구 지향", "목표지향", "문화활동 지향" 등의 라이프스타일을 가진 고객이 안경원을 선택할 때 21개 안경원 선택항목을 고려하여 안경원을 선택하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 "안정추구 지향", "건강추구 지향" 등의 라이프스타일을 가진 고객들이 "안경원 추천의사"에 긍정적 영향관계를 나타냈다. 또한 "고객응대"를 잘하면 안경원을 타인에게 추천할 의사가 높아질 것으로 기대할 수 있다.

의류 소매업태별 애고소비자의 특성 비교에 관한 연구 - 대학생을 대상으로 - (A Study on Purchase Behaviors of Patrons for Different Types of Clothing Retail Stores)

  • The purposes o this study were to investigate buying behaviors of patrons of six retail store types for clothing and the satisfaction levels of the six store types (department stores, specialty stores, chain store, discount stores, bonded goods stores and traditional market), and to test the differences in purchase behaviors and store satisfaction levels among the groups determined by demographic characteristics. A questionnaire survey was administered to male and female university students living in the Seoul metropolitan area from April 27 to May 11, 1999 ; 443 were collected and 391 were used for the data analysis. Data were analyzed by SPSS statistical package. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Chi-square analysis and Duncan's multiple range test were employed for the data analysis. In terms of the store usage, most of the subjects tended to choose the store types they patronized for buying coats, suits, blouses, T-shirts, slacks/skirts and jeans items ; but, they used department store and specialty store for coat, suit, blouse, T-shirt, slacks/skirt and jeans for purchasing selected clothing items. Regarding criteria used for store selection, the most important criterion was the diversity of products offered and other store types. In terms of the store satisfaction levels of the six store types, the patrons of all store types were most satisfied with the stores they patronaged.

남성 소비자의 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도와 의복 및 화장품 구매행동 연구 - 2030대와 4050대의 비교분석을 중심으로 - (A Study on Sociocultural Attitudes toward Appearance and Clothing and Cosmetics Purchasing Behaviors of Male Consumers - Focused on Comparative Analysis between 20s~30s and 40s~50s -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of sociocultural attitudes toward appearance, clothing and cosmetics purchasing behaviors according to male consumer's age group. The research method was survey and subjects were 656 male consumers. The results were as follows. First, three factors (appearance importance awareness, appearance internalization, and slimness importance awareness) were emerged on sociocultural attitudes toward appearance. Young age group showed higher level of appearance importance awareness and internalization than middle age group. Second, there were many differences on clothing purchasing behaviors by age variable. Young age group more importantly considered psycho-social purchasing motives, aesthetic selection criteria, and the internet as information source and purchasing place than middle age group. Whereas middle age group more importantly considered practical purchasing motives, practical selection criteria, and store display & salesman as information sources, and fashion outlet as purchasing place than young age group. Third, there were also many differences on cosmetics purchasing behaviors by age variable. Young age group used more and various cosmetics, and they more importantly considered skin improvement as purchasing motive, skin suitability and price as selection criteria, the internet as information source and purchasing place than middle age group. On the other hand, middle age group generally used fundamental cosmetics, and they more importantly considered skin protection as purchasing motive, quality as selection criterion, TV and store display & salesman as information sources, and discount store and cosmetics speciality store as purchasing places than young age group.

패밀리레스토랑의 선택속성이 브랜드이미지와 재방문의도에 미치는 영향 (Family restaurant's selection attributes are brand image, Effect on revisit intention)

  • 본 연구에서는 패밀리레스토랑에 대한 고객들의 선택속성 요인과 브랜드 이미지와 재방문의도에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였다. 구체적으로는 패밀리레스토랑의 하위요인인 브랜드, 매장, 가격이 고객들의 재방문의도에 미치는 가격, 매장/서비스가치, 브랜드가치, 음식이 미치는 영향과 재방문의도에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서 도출한 브랜드 이미지와 패밀리레스토랑 선택속성 4가지(가격 속성,매장/서비스 속성, 브랜드 속성 음식 속성)중 중요도에 가장 유의한 관계에 있는 선택속성은 패밀리레스토랑 매장의 청결 및 위생 상태와 패밀리레스토랑 매장의 음식의 메뉴와 질로 나타났고, 패밀리레스토랑 선택속성 4가지 중 필요도에 가장 유의한 관계에 있는 선택속성은 패밀리레스토랑 매장의 영양이 풍부한 음식의 인식, 패밀리레스토랑 매장의 음식의 맛과 영양성, 패밀리레스토랑 매장의 음식의 메뉴와 질로 나왔다. 따라서 패밀리레스토랑을 선택속성 중 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 가격속성과 매장/서비스 속성이라 할 수 있다. 이를 통해 향후 패밀리레스토랑 경영의 전략적인 방안을 통한 발전방안을 모색하는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

소비자의 가격태도와 위험지각에 따른 의류할인점 선택행동에 관한 연구 (The Study of Consumer's Clothing Discount Store Selection Behavior by Their Price Attitude and Risk Perception)

  • The purpose of this study is examine how price attitude and risk perception affect6 consumer's attitude to clothing discount stores. As for the methods of the research 313 female consumers who just finished shopping at discount stores were interviewed and questioned. The result is as the following. 1. The factors such as discount price inclination effective value inclination price-quality association and price-social grade association in the price attitude as well as social psychological risk and the risk of losing opportunity in the risk perception affected consumer's attitude to clothing discount store. 2. The domestic national brand discount store acquired the highest scores in all factors but discount inclination factor and low price inclination factor. No difference was seen between stores in terms of the risk perception. 3. The determining factors for repurchase intention were found to be store satisfaction and the attitude to clothing discount store. 4. The convenience of transportation the availability of exchange or repair the payment option the quality of the product and the attributes of the store e, g, good quality with relatively low price affected the store satisfaction. 5. Domestic national brand discount store showed higher score in 'good quality with relatively low price' than domestic casual brand discount store did. And difference between groups was found in repurchase intention, Conclusively most consumers using clothing discount stores are effective value-oriented.

패션 유통업태간 소비자가 요구하는 판매원의 서비스 차원 비교(I) - 백화점, 할인점, 아울렛몰을 중심으로 - (Comparison of the Salesperson's Service on Fashion Retailing Formats - Focused on Department Store, Discount Store, and Outlet Store -)

  • This paper was to examine the salesperson's service that the consumer demands in different types of fashion retailing formats including department store, discount store and outlet store. Data has been collected from June to August in 2005 in Pusan and Seoul on subject of 1000 adult over18 years old and 979 pieces were used to analyze. Data analysis was conducted by factor analysis, regression using the SPSS statistics package program. Services in common in 3 fashion retailing formats were "individual concerning", "kindness, courtesy/customer respect", "quick correspondence/convenience", and "product knowledge". Unique services that consumer demanded for the department store were professional and polite attitude; for the discount store, honesty and convenience for refund and exchange; for the outlet store, wide range of product selection. The results has shown that the part of salesperson's service dimensions influenced the consumer's purchase, repurchasing intention and the level of satisfaction. Therefore fashion marketers need to carefully implicate operation and service management depending on the retailing formats.
