천음속 날개꼴의 Multi-point 수치최적화 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study of Multi-point Numerical Optimization Design for Transonic Airfoils)

  • 천음속 날개꼴의 수치최적화 설계에 있어서, 하나의 흐름조건에 의해 설계된 날개꼴의 공력특성은 다른 흐름조건에서 나쁜 특성을 나타낼 수 있다. 따라서, 실용적인 날개꼴의 설계를 위해서 multi-point 수치최적화 설계능력은 필수적인 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 Navier-Stokes 방정식 흐름해석 코드와 feasible direction 최적화 알고리즘을 이용하여 two-point 수치최적화 설계를 수행하였으며, 가중치가 수치최적화 설계에 주는 영향을 분석하고 비교하였다. 그 결과로서 two-point수치최적화 설계된 날개꼴이 두 흐름조건의 주변영역에서 동시에 요구 공력특성을 만족시키며, 가중치가 큰 방향으로 최적화 설계됨을 확인하였다.

Buckling analysis of perforated nano/microbeams with deformable boundary conditions via nonlocal strain gradient elasticity

  • This work aims to present a solution for the buckling behavior of perforated nano/microbeams with deformable boundary conditions using nonlocal strain gradient theory (NLSGT). For the first time, a solution that can provide buckling loads based on the non-local and strain gradient effects of perforated nanostructures on an elastic foundation, while taking into account both deformable and rigid boundary conditions. Stokes' transformation and Fourier series are used to realize this aim and determine the buckling loads under various boundary conditions. We employ the NLSGT to account for size-dependent effects and utilize the Winkler model to formulate the elastic foundation. The buckling behavior of the perforated nano/microbeams restrained with lateral springs at both ends is studied for various parameters such as the number of holes, the length and filling ratio of the perforated beam, the internal length, the nonlocal parameter and the dimensionless foundation parameter. Our results indicate that the number of holes and filling ratio significantly affect the buckling response of perforated nano/microbeams. Increasing the filling ratio increases buckling loads, while increasing the number of holes decreases buckling loads. The effects of the non-local and internal length parameters on the buckling behavior of the perforated nano/microbeams are also discussed. These material length parameters have opposite effects on the variation of buckling loads. This study presents an effective eigenvalue solution based on Stokes' transformation and Fourier series of the restrained nano/microbeams under the effects of elastic medium, perforation parameters, deformable boundaries and nonlocal strain gradient elasticity for the first time.

Myrinet과 Fast-Ethernet PC Cluster에서 예조건화 Navier-Stokes코드의 병렬처리 (Parallel lProcessing of Pre-conditioned Navier-Stokes Code on the Myrinet and Fast-Ethernet PC Cluster)

  • 본 연구에서는 영역분할기법에 의하여 예조건화 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 병렬화 하였으며, 병렬화 된 코드의 정확도는 순차 코드의 결과 및 실험 데이터와의 비교를 통하여 확인하였다. 코드의 병렬효율은 Myrinet을 기반의 PC 클러스터와 Fast-Ethernet PC 클러스터에서 살펴보았다. 주된 성능 지표로는 프로세서 수와 네트웍 통신 구성에 따른 속도 향상 비를 살펴보았다. 이 시험에서 Myrinet 환경의 PC 클러스터는 기대한 바와 같이 Fast-Ethernet에 비하여 우수한 성능을 보여 주었다. 문제의 크기에 대한 의존도 시험에서 네트웍 통신 속도는 병렬처리 성능에 중요한 요소이며, Myrinet 기반의 PC 클러스터가 고성능 병렬처리 시스템의 한 가지 대안임을 보여 주었다.

Estimation of Ground and Excited State Dipole Moments of Coumarin 450 by Solvatochromic Shift Method

  • The ground and excited state dipole moments of Coumarin 450 (C 450) laser dye were measured at room temperature in several solvents of varying dipole moments. The ground state dipole moment (${\mu}_g$) is estimated by using the modified Onsagar model and the excited state dipole moments (${\mu}_e$) were estimated by the method of solvatochromism as well as by utilizing the microscopic solvent polarity parameter ($E^N_T$). Further, the deviation of some of the points from the linearity of the $E^N_T$ versus Stokes shift indicates the existence of specific type of solute-solvent interaction. The excited state dipole moment of C 450 were found to be higher than those of the ground state and is interpreted in terms of the resonance structure of the molecule. A reasonable agreement has been observed between the values obtained by the method of solvatochromism and modified Onsagar model. It is observed that, corresponding to cyclohexane solution, the fluorescence maxima shift towards the red region with increasing the polarity of the solvents, hence the transition involved are of ${\pi}-{\pi}^*$ type.

충격파-와동 간섭의 파라메터 연구 (Parametric Study on Shock-Vortex Interaction)

  • In the idealized model problem of the interaction between a planar travelling shock and a symmetric vortex, the physics of shock distortion and quadrupole sound generation are well known to many researchers. However, the authors have distinguished the weak waves reflected and transmitted by the complicated photograph images obtained from a shock tube experiment. In this paper, we introduces a parametric study based on Navier-Stokes simulation and Rankin vortex model to see the difference of shock deformation shapes. Four combination of the strength of shock and vortex are respectively selected from a parameter plane of shock and vortex strength extended to the strong vortex region. The result shows clearly discernable wave morphology for the main parameters, which is not yet explicitly mentioned by other researchers.

신발형 리브의 형상변화가 열전달 및 압력 강하에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Geometry of a Boot-Shaped Rib on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop)

  • This paper deals with a parametric study on boot-shaped ribs in a rectangular cooling channel. Numerical analysis of the flow and heat transfer was performed using three-dimensional Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the Speziale, Sarkar and Gatski turbulence model. The parametric study was performed for the parameters, tip width-to rib width, tip height-to-rib height, rib height-to-channel height, and rib height-to-width ratios. To assess the cooling performance and friction loss, Numsselt number and friction factor were defined as the performance parameter, respectively. The results showed that the cooling performance and friction loss were seriously affected by the four geometric parameters.

  • 가스터빈에 적용되는 천음속 원심압축기에 대한 공력설계 및 수치해석을 수행하였다. 평균유선법과 준삼차원 해석을 기반으로 공력설계를 수행하고, 레이놀즈 평균 나비어-스톡스 해석을 통해 압축기 내부 유동장을 해석하였다. 천음속 압축기에서 정압계수, 스월 파라미터 및 블레이드 공력하중 등 주요 공력파라미터들에 대한 분석과 임펠러와 디퓨저 내부 유동장에 대한 고찰이 이루어졌다.

Polarization Ellipticity of Micro-photoluminescence in a Single GaAs/AlGaAs Quantum Ring

  • The polarized micro-photoluminescence spectrum was analyzed to investigate the anisotropic localized states in a single GaAs quantum ring. An energy difference of ~0.1 meV was observed from the perpendicularly polarized spectrum measured by a pair of linear analyzers. Spectral dependence of the polarized emission was also characterized in terms of rotation and ellipticity angles using four Stokes parameters. While the rotation angle indicates the symmetric axis of an anisotropic quantum ring with a small variation (± 2°), the ellipticity angle varies from 7.4° down to -2.5°. We conclude that optical anisotropy and birefringence are induced by the crescent-like lateral shape of localized states.

  • For obtaining estimates of a total magnetic flux, we propose to use measurements of ${\partial}I/{\partial}{\lambda}$. obtained by a modulation method which is formally identical to Stokes V-parameter measurements. In this case the polarization is not analyzed. It is advisable to use in measurements two parts of the spectral line wing.

  • 초음속 유동이 덕트와 같은 내부를 지날 때 의사충격파라는 유동 구조가 생성된다. 의사충격파는 충격파-경계층 상호작용의 결과이며 이를 정확히 모사하기 위해서는 충격파 구조 뿐만 아니라 경계층 거동 역시 정확히 예측해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 유동의 정확한 입구조건을 알아내고 이를 이용하여 사각 덕트 내부에서 발생하는 의사충격파를 2차원 전산유동해석으로 해석한다.
