넙치 종묘방류사업의 경제적 효과분석 (Economic Effectiveness of the Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) Fry Releasing Program in Korea)

  • Since 2000 fry releasing programs in Korea have significantly expanded in order to support the commercial fishing industry through recruitment enhancement of targeted species. Here we investigate the economic effectiveness of the Olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) fry releasing program in Korean waters. The market survey method was used in our analyses. Results show that the B/C ratio, as an indicator of economic evaluation, is 2.56 in the East Sea region, 9.45 in the South Sea region, and 1.34 in the West Sea region, which indicates that the fry releasing program is economically feasible but the economic effectiveness varies from region to region.

  • 철도신호시스템에서 열차위치 검지기능은 선로의 레일을 전기회로의 일부분으로 사용하여 차륜에 의해 단락되어 열차의 유무를 검지하는 궤도회로, RFID와 차륜센서, GPS 등과 같은 여러 가지 방식으로 구현 연구가 되고 있다. 하이브리드 궤도회로는 안테나와 리더기를 차량에 설치하고, 태그를 침목위에 설치하여, 안테나에서 태그에 저장된 절대위치정보를 제어장치에 전송하여 열차위치를 인식하는 RFID 방식의 궤도회로이다. 열차위치검지기능에서 태그의 인식율은 열차운행의 안전에 직접적인 영향을 주게 되므로 고신뢰도를 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 방향각을 갖는 태그를 이용한 태그인식율의 향상에 관한 연구를 하였다.

재고투자와 경기변동: 재고투자 동학의 경기국면별 비대칭성 (Inventory Investment and Business Cycle: Asymmetric Dynamics of Inventory Investment over the Business Cycle Phases)

  • 재고투자와 경기변동의 관계를 설명하는데 있어 생산평활(production smoothing) 가설과 재고소진 회피(stock-out avoidance) 가설은 서로 상반된 입장을 취하고 있다. 기업의 재고 투자에 관한 의사결정은 두 가지 동기 모두에 의해 영향받을 것으로 생각되지만 경기국면에 따라 각각의 영향력의 상대적 크기 혹은 방향성이 다르게 나타날 수 있다. 이에 본고는 재고투자 동학에서 생산평활 동기와 재고소진 회피동기의 상대적 유의성을 실증적으로 검증하되 경기국면별 비대칭성의 존재와 형태를 규명하는 데 분석의 초점을 둔 점에서 기존 연구와 차별성을 지닌다. 이를 위해 기존의 선형 재고투자 모형을 확장한 비선형 모형을 설정하였으며 이러한 방식이 기존 방식에 비해 우수한 지를 모형의 예측력을 비교 평가하여 확인하였다. 분석 결과, 재고투자 동학의 경기국면별 비대칭적 특성을 확인하였다. 경기 호황기에는 재고소진 회피동기가 나타나지만 생산평활 동기는 유의하지 않았다. 반대로 경기 불황기에는 재고소진 회피동기는 유의하지 않지만 Ramey (1991)에서 제시된 생산비용의 비볼록성에 의하여 재고변화가 경기침체를 심화시키는 경기 의존적 특성을 발견하였다. 경기국면별 비대칭성을 모형에 고려함으로써 그렇지 않은 모형에 비해 예측력을 향상시킬 수 있음을 표본 내 및 표본 외 예측, 다양한 예측력 검정을 통해 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 재고투자의 동학과 경기 불안정화 특성에 대한 이해를 제고하여 경제전망 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

자율관리 마을어업의 생태계 기반 자원관리시스템 연구 (A study on the ecosystem-based resource management system of self-regulatory community fisheries)

  • A self-regulatory community fisheries management program in Korea is designed to enhance fisheries resources, to protect fishing grounds of self-regulatory communities, and to manage their fisheries resources by their own regulations and knowledge. This study explored an applicable ecosystem-based management plan based on the scientific investigation and analysis. This study suggested objectives, indicators and reference points of the ecosystem-based resource management system which are applicable to selfregulatory community fisheries. The objectives of the management system are to maintain sustainable fisheries production, to maintain optimum fishing intensity, to reduce by-catch, to conserve spawning ground and habitat, to maintain optimum habitat environment, to increase/maintain abundance of prey species, to increase/maintain stock biomass, and to conduct stock enhancement on the basis of scientific assessment. The improved methods for the assessment and management are introduced by demonstrating a self-regulatory fishery which targets on hen clam in Dong-li fishing village in Busan.

  • Hydraulic transport of fines up to the surface of flotation cell was supposed to be a mechanism of fines fractionation through the froth-flotation. Efficient fractionation of fines means efficient skimming out of flotation rejects as much as possible with least long fiber loss. The selectivity of fines fractionation was found to be mainly affected by long fibers flocculation degree in this study. Lack of sufficient flocculation of long fibers could lead to extensive loss of long fibers. It was also found that higher flotation flux caused higher flotation reject as well as the increase of long fiber loss, but did not affect the fine content ratio in the flotation reject. We controlled the flotation flux and the stock consistency, and chose a cationic polymer to maximize the flocculation of long fibers and to increase the amount of flotation reject. The highest efficiency of fines fractionation was obtained at 1.3% of stock consistency and at 100L/min of flotation flux in our experimental set up. The cationaic polymer we chose was found to be very effective in fiber flocculation and flotation froth stabilization. New definitions of fractionation efficiency were introduced in this study to compare the results more clearly.

  • The leading-cab (high energy absorption area) of rolling stock directly is impacted on the frontal crash unlike other cabs. Thus, leading-cab has a structurally complex shape to solve getting concentrated loads. However, in order to enhance structural performance and to achieve the weight reduction of cab, changing the sizes and adjusting the distance of members do not take an effective result. Therefore, in design phase, to find the material arrangement which helps structural capacity be better should be done. This research applies the topology optimization to concept design of protective shell frame on strategy of crush energy absorption with considering pressure and vertical loads acting on the principal part of leading-cab. In this research, topology optimization method focuses on structural design, and which yields optimal material arrangement under given loads and boundary conditions using density method which has the density of material as design variables. Finally, this research presents optimal material arrangement and structure of protective shell frame on given loads with applying topology optimization.

내수면 어로어업의 동향과 재편과제에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reorganization of the Management System in Korean Inland Fisheries)

  • This study analyses the management and utilization of Korean inland fisheries and suggests directions for reorganizing the fisheries in order to achieve qualitative growth. Inland fisheries developing into a unique fishery according to various aquatic systems in different areas have played various roles such as the efficient use of aquatic resources, development of local areas and economy vitalization in under-developed local areas. However, recently Korean inland fisheries are facing a lot of difficulties due to the circumstantial changes surrounding the fisheries. Even though it is difficult to expect the external expansion of the Korean inland fisheries, we could expect qualitative internal growth by achieving the sustainable management and aquatic ecosystem health. Therefore, this study suggests the followings in order to achieve the qualitative growth of the Korean inland fisheries : first, construction of integrated management system according the aquatic systems ; second, organization of fishermen's interest groups such as cooperatives or associations in order to increase the competitive advantage and spread voluntary fisheries management ; third, boosting stock enhancement through systematic stock assessment and stocking ; fourth, expansion and activation of administrative system and research organizations.

참전복(Haliotis discus hannai) 방류효과 향상을 위한 연구 (Enhancement of settlement of artificially released abalone, Haliotis discus hannai)

  • Settlement of artificially released abalone, Haliotis discus hannai at the marine farming area in Jeollanam-do in 2007 was very efficient by showing the recapture of 2.0-5.2 ind./m2 and the survival rate of 60-67%. The growth of shell after 1 year was highest in Hwoenggando by 75.9 mm and the lowest in Hwasan by 64.6 mm. Our result especially showed that the effect of the stock recruitment was the most efficient when abalone was released. The shell growth of the released abalone was better when sea mustard (Undaria sp.) was provided as food (shell length was up to 23.9 mm) or predators were periodically removed (shell length was up to 23.8 mm) in order to enhance the effect of the artificial release than the control group. The recapture rate was also higher than the control. However due to the difficulty of managing the release areas, it will be more efficient to release the recruited stocks after considering various biological and ecological factors such as survey of suitable release areas, stock size, release density, and health of stocks.

  • 현재 국내선로에서 운전규정에 따른 곡선반경별 속도제한을 실행하고 있으나 기존선 속도 향상과 관련하여 실제로 탈선 발생 없이 운행 가능한 곡선부 최대 통과속도에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 또한, 철도차량의 주행안전성에 영향을 미치는 요인으로서는 차량측면과 궤도측면으로 나눠질 수 있는데, 본 연구에서는 탈선 안전도 향상에 영향을 미치는 매개변수 중 레일 경좌 변화에 따른 주행안전성을 해석하고자 하였다. 탈선의 위험도가 높은 곡선부 통과하는 열차의 고속향상을 도모하기 위하여 실제 선로조건인 남성현${\leftrightarrow}$청도 상 하행 구간의 곡선부 구간별 통과시 레일 경좌와 주행속도 변화에 따른 주행안전성 해석을 수행하였다.

국내 주식과 미 달러를 이용한 투자전략에 관한 연구 (An Investigation of Trading Strategies using Korean Stocks and U.S. Dollar)

  • Purpose - This study compares the performances of dynamic asset allocation strategies using Korean stocks and U.S. dollar, which have been negatively correlated for a long time, to examine the diversification effects in the portfolios of them. Design/methodology/approach - In the current study, we use KOSPI200 index, as a proxy of the aggregated portfolio of Korean stocks, and USDKRW foreign exchange rate to implement various portfolio management strategies. We consider the equally-weighted, risk-parity, minimum variance, most diversified, and growth optimal portfolios for comparison. Findings - We first find the enhancement of risk adjusted returns due to risk reduction rather than return increasement for all the portfolios of consideration. Second, the enhancement is more pronounced for the trading strategies using correlations as well as volatilities compared to those using volatilities only. Third, the diversification effect has become stronger after the global financial crisis in 2008. Lastly, we find that the performance of the growth optimal portfolio can be improved by utilizing the well-known momentum phenomenon in stock markets to select the length of the sample period to estimate the expected return. Research implications or Originality - This study shows the potential benefits of adding the U.S. dollar to the portfolios of Korean stocks. The current study is the first to investigate the portfolio of Korean stocks and U.S. dollar from investment perspective.
