Preparation and Application of Polyurethane-urea Microcapsules Containing Phase Change Materials

  • For thermal adaptable fabrics, the polyurethane-urea microcapsules containing phase-change materials (PCMs: hexadecane, octadecane and eicosane) were successfully synthesized by interfacial polycondensation using 2,4-toluene diisocyanate (TDI)/poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG400)/ethylene diamine (EDA) as shell monomers and nonionic surfactant NP-12 in an emulsion system under stirring rates of $3,000{\sim}13,000$ rpm. The mean particle size of microcapsule decreased significantly with increasing the stirring rate up to 11,000 rpm, and then leveled off. The mean particle size increased with increasing the content and molecular weight (eicosane > octadecane > hexadecane) of PCMs at the same stirring rate. The mean particle sizes of microcapsules were found to decrease with increasing the NP-12 content up to 1.5 wt%, and thereafter increased a little. It was found that the melting temperature ($T_m$) and crystallization temperature ($T_c$) of three kinds of encapsulated PCMs and their enthalpy changes (${\Delta}H_m,{\Delta}H_c$) increased with increasing PCM contents. The encapsulation efficiencies (Ee) of hexadecane microcapsule linearly increased with increasing the content of hexadecane. It was found that the stable microcapsule containing 50 wt% of hexadecane could be obtained in this study. However, Ee of octadecane and eicosane microcapsules increased with increasing PCM's contents up to 40 wt%, and then decreased a little. By considering the encapsulation efficiency, it was found that the maximum/optimum contents of octadecane and eicosane microcapsules were about 40 wt%. By the dynamic thermal performance test, it was found that the maximum buffering levels of Nylon fabrics coated with hexadecane, octadecane, and eicosane microcapsules were about $-2.4/+2.9^{\circ}C,\;-3.6/+3.6^{\circ}C\;and\;-4.0/+4.7^{\circ}C$, respectively.

시멘트 바이패스 더스트에 존재하는 염화칼륨의 용해 및 수득 특성 (Solubility and Yield Characteristics of KCl in Cement By-Pass Dust)

  • 시멘트 공장에서는 폐기물 재활용 측면에서 다양한 산업부산물 및 생활폐기물을 사용한다. 이들 폐기물에는 다량의 칼륨과 염소 및 소량의 중금속 등도 함유되어 있으며, 이들 성분을 유가자원으로 활용하기 위한 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 칼륨과 염소를 용해 결정화하여 염화칼륨을 수득하기 위한 다양한 방안을 검토하였다. 특히 혼합수 함량, 슬러리 온도 및 교반시간 등을 제어하였다. 또한 수득 염화칼륨 중에 존재하는 중금속 종류 함량 등도 분석하였다. 염화칼륨 수득량은 혼합수 함량 증가에 따라 증가하였으나, 1 : 2 (더스트:혼합수) 이상에서는 소폭 증가하였다. 슬러리 온도에 따른 수득량은 일정온도 이상에서 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 교반시간 10분 이상에서는 수득량 변화가 관찰되지 않았다. 교반시간 증가에 따라 수득된 염화칼륨의 중금속 종류 함량도 다양하였으며, 주요 중금속은 Pb, Cu 및 $Cr^{6+}$ 등으로 확인되었다.

  • 금속 에멀젼(metal emulsion)은 제강 공정의 효율성을 높이는 방법으로 수십 년 동안 연구되어 왔습니다. 본 연구는 육안으로 관찰하기 어려운 고온 실험의 단점을 보완하기 위해 상온에서 관찰 가능한 수모델을 이용하여 수행하였다. 슬래그 내 금속 에멀젼의 대신하여 증류수를 실리콘 오일에 적하하여 운동량 균형 방정식에 의한 계산 결과와 비교하는 실험을 하였다. 물방울의 하강 속도는 물방울의 직경과 유체(실리콘 오일)의 점도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 교반 조건에서 실리콘 오일에서 물방울의 하강 속도를 시뮬레이션하기 위해 유체(실리콘 오일)의 유속을 입자 이미지 속도계(PIV) 방법으로 측정하였다. 물방울의 하강 속도 계산은 점성 실리콘 오일을 교반하거나 교반하지 않고 측정된 값과 잘 일치하였다.

Thixoforming을 위한 입자강화형 금속복합재료의 Reheating 공정 (Reheating Process of Particulates Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites for Thixoforming)

  • A both mixing process of electro-magnetic stirring and mechanical process technique were used to fabricate particulate metal matrix composites(PMMCs) for variation of particle size. The PMMCs were tested for their tensile test for with and without heat treatment with T6. PMMCs fabrication processing conditions for both electrical and mechanical process are also suggested. In order to thixoforming of PMMCs, fabricated billet are reheated by using the optimal coil designed as a function of length between PMMC billet and coil surface, coil diameter and billet length. The effect of reinforcement distribution on billet temperature variation are investigated with calculated solid fraction theory proposed as a function of matrix alloy and volume fraction of reinforcement.

반용융 압연을 이용한 박판제조공정에 관한 연구( I ) (A Study on Strip Fabrication Processes Using Mushy State Rolling(I))

  • In the direct rolling processes for the mushy state alloy, a mushy state material which simultaneously contains liquid-solid phase is obtained from the exit port of stirring apparatus with a given solid fraction. This solid fraction is dependent on the temperature of within the solid-liquid range which shows to be controlled accurately by the experimental conditions for a given stirring apparatus. Rolling conditions for fabrication the fine surface strip were obtained from direct rolling experiment with mushy state alloys of Sn-75%Pb and aluminum alloy. Influence of solid fraction, rolling speed and initial roller gap on the state of strip surface and solidified structure was observed. We proposed theoretical model for prediction of rolling force, and we compared calculation result and experimental value measured with load cell.

추출조건에 따른 도깨비부채 뿌리의 멜라닌 억제효과 (Extraction Conditions Affect Melanin Inhibitory Activity in Rodgersia podophylla Root)

  • Background: The inhibitory effect of Rodgersia podophylla root extract on melanin production has been reported, however, the study on the optimal extraction conditions that increase melanin inhibitory activity has not yet been performed. Methods and Results: In this study, we compared the melanin inhibitory activity of R. podophylla root extract obtained through different preprocessing and extraction methods. The melanin inhibitory activity was examined using Melan-A melanocytes. The results indicated that the inhibitory activity of R. podophylla roots collected in August was higher than that of the roots collected in May and November. Additionally, non-dried R. podophylla roots exhibited higher activity than dried roots, and the stirring extract was more active than the ultrasonic extract. Conclusions: Collection of R. podophylla root when the temperature is high, without drying, and stirring extraction are considered to be the optimal extraction conditions for increased melanin inhibitory effect.

금속복합재료의 열간압출공정에 있어서 압출비가 섬유의 파단 및 배향에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Extrusion Ratios on Fiber Breakage and Orientation in Hot Extrusion Process in Metal Matrix Composites)

  • The aluminar short fiber reinforced composite materials for hot extrusion were fabricated by semi-solid stirring method, and extruded at extrusion temperature $400^{\circ}C$ with various extrusion ratio. The hot extrusion load of volume fraction 15% metal matrix composites and base alloy Al7075 has been compared. The fiber length distribution, fiber breakage and fiber orientation are investiged to know the fiber behaviour in before and after hot extrusion. The tensile strength of the hot extruded billet are experimentally determined for different of extrusion ratios, and compared with theorically calculated strength.

  • In this paper, volume resistivity is studied so that the electrical properties for transformer oil due to the stirring temperature of BTA is investigated. A measurement of volume resistivity using the VMG-1000 highmegohm meter is recorded after 10 minutes when the each voltage, and DC 100[V], 250[V], 500[V] and 1000[V] is applied, according to the step voltage appliaction method. A coaxial cylindrical liquid electrode to measure volume resistivity of specimen is used, and its geometric capacitance is 16[pF].

  • A semi-solid forming has a lot of advantages compared to the die casting. squeeze casting and conventional forging. therefore, semi-solid forming process is now becoming industrial interest for the production of metal components and metal matrix composites. However the material behaviour in the semi-solid temperature range is not sufficiently known although it controls the whole process through forces and geometry evolutions because the behaviour of metal slurries is complex. The semi-solid materials(SSMs) fabricated under electric-magnetic stirring condition is necessary to be applicated in forming process. A reheating conditions were studied with the reheating time holding time and reheating temperatures. The microstructure of SSM(specimen size : d39${\times}$h85) at the condition of heating time 10min and heating temperature 590${\circ}C$ is the most globular and finest one. The microstructure of SSM(specimen size : d76${\times}$h60) reheated under the three step reheating conditions is most globular and finest.

TSSG 법에 의한 KTP 단결정 성장의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of KTP Crystal Growing by TSSG Method)

  • K6P4Ol3 응제를 사용하여 TSSG법에 의해 KTP(K Tiop04) 단결정을 성장시켰다. 가열로의 내부에 heatpipe와 복사방열판을 설치하여 도가니 내의 온도 안정성 및 균일도를 향상시켰다. 크고 양질의 단결정을 얻기 위한 목적으로 조업온도 구간,초기 냉각속도, 강제교반, 융제의 재사용과 같은 몇 가지 조업변수들에 따른 영향을 비교 고찰하였다. 본 융제의 조건하에서(0.6g KTP/lg flux), 초기 냉각속도가 0.1℃/hr 이하까지 느릴수록, 적절한 결정 회전이 수반될수록 양질의 단결정성장에 유리하였다. 최대 44 × 39 ×17체 크기의 KTP단결정을 얻을 수 있었으며, 단순가공 상태하에서도 21.3% SHG 변환효율을 나타내었다.
