Among the visual sensibility studies, many studies of color or movement have been done, but not much have been done about whether it can evoke sensibility in static form itself. Therefore, in this study, visual attention by AOIs(Area of Interests) combined with color based on three basic forms was analyzed using eye tracking, and the results were visually expressed through Heat Map and Gaze Plot. In addition, A Paired t-test was performed on the mean difference between the two groups to verify the statistical significance of each color and form. As a result of the experiment, the chromatic color form was more visual attention than the achromatic color form and warm color form was higher mean than cool color, so the visual attention was greater. In this study, it is meaningful to suggest a quantitative method which is easy to interpret objectively the design element that is easily interpreted subjectively. Based on the results of this study, if more further studies and quantitative analysis methods are presented that can identify differences in visual attention from various colors and forms, it can be used to provide guidelines for basic design.

In modern society, due to various accidents and crime threats committed to an unspecified number of people, individual security awareness is increasing throughout society and various surveillance techniques are being actively studied. Still, there is a decline in robustness due to many problems, requiring higher reliability monitoring techniques. Thus, this paper suggests a real-time change detection technique to complement the low robustness problem in various environments and dynamic/static change detection and to solve the cost efficiency problem. We used the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) applied as a data clustering technique to implement change detection, and we were able to confirm the superiority of noise robustness and abnormal detection judgment compared to the detection technique applied to the existing image surveillance system through simulation in the indoor office environment.

In this paper, we propose a graph-based user route control for rapidly conducting virus inspections in emergency situations (eg, COVID-19) and a framework that can simulate this on a city map. A* and navigation mesh data structures, which are widely used pathfinding algorithms in virtual environments, are effective when applied to CS(Computer science) problems that control Agents in virtual environments because they guide only a fixed static movement path. However, it is not enough to solve the problem by applying it to the real COVID-19 environment. In particular, there are many situations to consider, such as the actual road traffic situation, the size of the hospital, the number of patients moved, and the patient processing time, rather than using only a short distance to receive a fast virus inspection.

In this paper, we present a method that utilizes geometry-based sound generation techniques to efficiently handle multiple sound sources, wind turbulence, and temperature-dependent interactions. Recently, a method based on reduced raytracing has been proposed to update the sound position and efficiently calculate sound propagation and diffraction without recursive reflection/refraction of many rays, but this approach only considers the propagation characteristics of sound and does not consider the interaction of multiple sound sources, wind currents, and temperature. These limitations make it difficult to create sound scenes in a variety of virtual environments because they only generate static sounds. In this paper, we propose a method for efficiently constructing a sound map in a situation where multiple sounds are placed, and a method for efficiently controlling the movement of an agent through it. In addition, we propose a method for controlling sound propagation by considering wind currents and temperature. The method proposed in this paper can be utilized in various fields such as metaverse environment design and crowd simulation, as well as games that can improve content immersion based on sound.

Visual SLAM(Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) has been used widely to estimate a mobile robot's location. Visual SLAM estimates relative motions with static visual features over image sequence. Because visual SLAM methods assume generally static features in the environment, we cannot obtain precise results in dynamic situation including many moving objects: cars and human beings. This paper presents a stereo vision based SLAM method in dynamic environment. First, we extract disparity map with stereo vision and compute optical flow. We then compute disparity change that is the estimated flow field between stereo views. After examining the disparity change value, we detect ROIs(Region Of Interest) in disparity space to determine dynamic scene objects. In indoor environment, many structural planes like walls may be determined as false dynamic elements. To solve this problem, we segment the scene into planar structure. More specifically, disparity values by the stereo vision are projected to X-Z plane and we employ Hough transform to determine planes. In final step, we remove ROIs nearby the walls and discriminate static scene elements in indoor environment. The experimental results show that the proposed method can obtain stable performance in dynamic environment.

When acquiring a product having an OS, it is very important to identify the exact kernel version of the OS. This is because the product's administrator needs to keep checking whether a new vulnerability is found in the kernel version. Also, if there is an acquisition requirement for exclusion or inclusion of a specific kernel version, the kernel identification becomes critical to the acquisition decision. In the case of the Linux kernel used in various equipment, sometimes it becomes difficult to pinpoint the device's exact version. The reason is that many manufacturers often modify the kernel to produce their own firmware optimized for their device. Furthermore, if a kernel patch is applied to the modified kernel, it will be very different from its base kernel. Therefore, it is hard to identify the Linux kernel accurately by simple methods such as a specific file existence test. In this paper, we propose a static method to classify a specific kernel version by analyzing function names stored in the symbol table. In an experiment with 100 Linux devices, we correctly identified the Linux kernel version with 99% accuracy.

This study investigated the environmental factors and fish assemblage in 42 wetlands between spring and autumn of 2017 to evaluate the fish distribution and deduce the management strategy for improving biodiversity in created wetlands located at the Nakdong River basin. The investigation identified a total of 30 fish species and found that the most of wetlands were dominated by exotic fishes such as Micropterus salmoides and Lepomis macrochirus. Fish species such as Rhinogobius brunneus, Opsariichthys uncirostris amurensis, Zacco platypus were less abundant in the area with high density of Micropterus salmoides (static area) because they preferred the environment with active water flow. The pattern analysis of fish distribution in each wetland using the self-organizing map (SOM) showed a total of 24 variables (14 fish species and 10 environmental variables). The comparison of variables indicated that the distribution of fish species varied according to water depth and plant cover rate and was less affected by water temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen. The plant cover rate was strongly associated with high fish density and species diversity. However, wetlands with low plant biomass had diversity and density of fish species. The results showed that the microhabitat structure, created by macrophytes, was an important factor in determining the diversity and abundance of fish communities because the different species compositions of macrophytes supported diverse fish species in these habitats. Based on the results of this study, we conclude that macrophytes are the key components of lentic freshwater ecosystem heterogeneity, and the inclusion of diverse plant species in wetland construction or restoration schemes will result in ecologically healthy food webs.
In this study the stress analysis of orthotropic thin plate with arbitrary shapes for different boundary conditionsis investigated. Meshfreemethod is applied to static analysis of thin plates with various geometries based on the Kirchhoff classical plate theory. According to the meshfree method the domain of the plates are expressed through a set of nodes without using mesh. In this method, a set of nodes are defined in a standard rectangular domain, then via a third order map, these nodes are transferred to the main domain of the original geometry; therefore the analysis of the plates can be done. Herein, Meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) as a meshfree numerical method is utilized. The MLS function in MLPG does not satisfy essential boundary conditions using Delta Kronecker. In the MLPG method, direct interpolation of the boundary conditions can be applied due to constructing node by node of the system equations. The detailed parametric study is conducted, focusing on the arbitrary geometries of the thin plates. Results show that the meshfree method provides better accuracy rather than finite element method. Also, it is found that trend of the figures have good agreement with relevant published papers.

This paper studies the effect of pad at initial stage and wear during braking on the dynamic contact pressure distribution. Wear is influenced by variable factor (contact pressure, sliding speed, radius, temperature) during dynamic braking and variation in contact pressure distribution. Many researchers have conducted complex eigenvalue analysis considering wear characteristic with Lim and Ashby wear map. The conventional analysis method is assumed the pad has smooth and flat surfaces. The purpose of this paper is to validate that wear rate induced by braking is considered for the precise squeal prediction. After obtaining pad wear from experiment, it is incorporated with FE model of brake system. Finally, the comparisons in fugitive nature of squeal will be carried out between the complex eigenvalue analysis and noise dynamometer experiment.

Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) have become ubiquitous and continued to gain popularity. Since PDAs have some special contexts such as mobility and limited screen size, icons are utilized frequently because icons allow us to do tasks more rapidly and effectively on PDAs like another information appliances. The study presents a cognitive approach to study human factors affecting icon design with multidimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis. In the experiment, a real PDA was used to investigate 29 attributes and2 preference ratings for 22 PDA icons by 20 Korean subjects. As a result, cognitive positioning about icons, attributes, and preference data were arranged on the two dimensional perceptual map. Attributes were grouped by simplicity, universality, activity, complexity, abstraction, static, and alphanumeric time. Subjects preferences were highly related with simplicity attributes group and positive to universality and activity attributes groups. It was also confirmed that there are some icons unfitted to the mental model of Korean. However, when icons are designed for PDAs or similar information appliances to Korean, it should be designed simply and actively with universal image fitted on target users mental model.
