PLANE EMBEDDING PROBLEMS AND A THEOREM FOR INFINITE MAXIMAL PLANAR GRAPHS

  • In the first part of this paper we investigate several statements concerning infinite maximal planar graphs which are equivalent in finite case. In the second one, for a given induced $\theta$-path (a finite induced path whose endvertices are adjacent to a vertex of infinite degree) in a 4-connected VAP-free maximal planar graph containing a vertex of infinite degree, a new $\theta$-path is constructed such that the resulting fan is tight.

  • The Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) outbreak in South Korea in 2015 has drawn public attention regarding the legal regulation of infectious disease control in Korea. This paper discusses the interpretive and legislative concerns regarding the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, its ordinance and enforcement regulations, as well as public statements from the relevant administrative agency. Future improvements are also proposed.

  • A method for generation of design verification tests from behavior-level VHDL program is presented. Behavioral VHDL programs contain multiple communicating processes, signal assignment statements. So for large, complex system, it is difficult problem to test or simulation. In this paper, we proposed a new hardware design verification method. For this method generates control flow graph(CFG.) and process modeling graph(PMG) in the given under the testing VHDL program. And this method proved very effective that all the assumed design errors could be detected.

  • This paper is designed to bring to the attention of the reader the situation that may constitute a threat to the safety of RC structures designed and constructed in Korea. This threat stems from the inadequate rules of the acceptance strength control of concrete. As a result in some cases probability of brittle failure can be very high and reliability becomes very low. The paper substantiates the above statements. Further investigations aimed at finding the measures to remedy the situatuion are recommended.

The Meaning of the Parallel Postulate in the Middle School Mathematics (중학교 수학에서 평행공리의 의미)

  • The purpose of this note is to give insights into the role of parallelism to the middle school mathematics. According to NCTM(1998), the middle grades mathematics classroom should be a place in which students regularly engage in thoughtful activity that relates to their emerging capabilities of finding and imposing structure, conjecturing and verifying, and engaging in abstraction and generalization. In this aspect it is desirable to reinvestigate Euclidean Parallel Postulate in the axiomatic point of view in the level of the middle school mathematics. Reconstructing the contents Greenberg(1993), and we explain the statements which are logically equivalent to the Parallel Postulate for mathematics teachers in the middle school.

  • In this study, I investigated a domestic situation of Internet Shopping Mall, its elements and steps for construction. A domestic Internet Shopping Mall have some faults that a consumer cannot look at or touch directly a goods and have some bottlenecks such as a decisive way of a large amount of money, and so forth. On the other hand, it is consisted of 7 elements and its construction is consisted of 5 steps. Accordingly, I investigated the above statements.

  • W. Park [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 376 (2011) 193-202] proved the Hyers-Ulam stability of the Cauchy functional equation, the Jensen functional equation and the quadratic functional equation in 2-Banach spaces. But there are serious problems in the control functions given in all theorems of the paper. In this paper, we correct the statements of these results and prove the corrected theorems. Moreover, we prove the superstability of the Cauchy functional equation, the Jensen functional equation and the quadratic functional equation in 2-Banach spaces under the original given conditions.

  • Let $C(X)(C_{K}(X))$ denote the hyperspace of all nonempty closed connected subsets (subcontinua) of a locally compact Haus-dorff space X with the Fell topology. We prove that the following statements are equivalent: (1) X is locally connected. (2) C(X) is locally connected,. (3) C(X) is locally connected at each $E{\in}C_{k}(X).(4) C_{k}(X)$ is locally connected.

  • This paper defines an algorithmic description language in cycle-accurate level which can be used to design hardware components. The proposed language is less complex and more flexible than VHDL language. In that the language includes C-like control flow descriptions and brief timing information(i.e. clock cycle boundaries) indicated by 'wait_edge' statements. We generate RTL VHDL codes from the descriptions. The proposed language requires only 10~30% of the # of lines to describe the same functionality compared with RTL VHDL.

  • This report is intended to document beliefs that engineers working as senior high school teachers have in Mexico. Documents come from the analysis of answers provided for two tasks contained in a questionnaire: one of them is marking statements as true or false in relation to the derivative function; the second one is about solving different problems: calculation of derivative of piecewise functions and the calculation of maximum and minimum of a polynomial function. Results show the strengths, quasi-logical relations and grouping which are verified in their system of beliefs and knowledge.
