An Expert system On Local load shedding With priority (우선도를 고려한 지역 부하차단에 관한 전문가 시스템)

  • In operation of power systems, operators must solve overloads in abnormal conditions instantaneously for restoring the power system to normal state. Earlier works proposed the power flow distribution and the load shedding decision, developed by the expert system, for settling overloads. This paper presents a method for solving special conditions in the earlier works which requires less amount of loads than that of the load shedding, in particular, of the load shedding considering the priority. This paper uses the effort system to improve the ability of a beginner as well as of trained operators for operating the power system during emergency operation. To prove efficiency of the proposed method, this paper has adopted the model system with 13 bus for obtaining simulation results and used the prolog language to implement the system.

  • In this paper, we propose a establishment of system level environment to exploit PC system with SSD (Solid State Disk) by using TLM (Transaction Level Modeling) method with SystemC language. The reason why we choose this modeling method is that it eases RTL (Register Transfer Level) modeling burdens and we can accurately estimate the performance about different architectural changes. Also, it provides simulation speed which is relatively faster than RTL modeling method. The baseline architectural platform we implemented showed that SSD's internal transfer time is a dominant factor, so we need to improve that part and it is expected to be a good simulator to measure the system's overall performance by exploiting SSD's internal architectures.

  • In recent years, deep learning techniques have achieved tremendous successes in natural language processing, speech recognition and image processing. Collaborative filtering(CF) recommendation is one of widely used methods and has significant effects in implementing the new recommendation function, but it also has limitations in dealing with the problem of poor scalability, cold start and data sparsity, etc. Combining the traditional recommendation algorithm with the deep learning model has brought great opportunity for the construction of a new recommender system. In this paper, we propose a novel collaborative recommendation model based on auxiliary stacked denoising autoencoder(ASDAE), the model learns effective the preferences of users from auxiliary information. Firstly, we integrate auxiliary information with rating information. Then, we design a stacked denoising autoencoder based collaborative recommendation model to learn the preferences of users from auxiliary information and rating information. Finally, we conduct comprehensive experiments on three real datasets to compare our proposed model with state-of-the-art methods. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed model is superior to other recommendation methods.

  • 우리는 C++를 이용하여 음성인식기를 구현하여 기존의 C를 이용한 경우에 비하여 30% 수준의 소스로 표현하였고 인식기의 공동개발, 확장 및 개선, 기술 전수 등이 용이하게 되었으며 이를 음성인식 엔진 및 음성인식 연구를 위한 툴로 사용할 수 있게 되었다. 이 인식기의 특징으로는 연속 음성 및 대화체 음성을 인식할 수 있으며 trigram 언어 모델을 사용하였고 문맥 종속 음소 모델링에서는 기존의 triphone 보다 넓은 문맥을 고려한 n-phone context modeling을 사용하였으며 모델의 선정에는 음성학적 지식을 기반으로 한 질문을 사용한 decision tree를 사용하여 훈련에 나타나지 않은 단어나 문맥인 경우라도 가장 가까운 모델을 선정할 수 있게 하였다. 또, tree lexicon을 사용하여 속도를 개선하였으며 state 단위의 모델 공유를 통해 제한된 데이터를 이용하여 더 많은 모델을 훈련할 수 있어 성능을 개선하였다. 상용화를 염두에 두고 pc에서 구현하였다.

Student Experiences in a Multimodal Composition Class

  • Despite the social turn in literacy studies, few empirical studies have investigated the practical applications and learning experiences of multimodal composition pedagogy. Using a qualitative research approach, this study examines undergraduates' experiences in producing multimodal texts. Findings report that students' experiences in a multimodal composition class epitomize enjoyable learning. Students enjoyed their learning process because (a) the multimodal literacy curriculum filled the pedagogical gap between the conventional school-sponsored alphabetic literacy pedagogy and widespread out-of-school multimodal literacy practices and (b) the usefulness of the curriculum helped students enhance their intrinsic motivation to learn and compose. By questioning fundamental assumptions about what counts as knowledge in the current ecology of literacies, the authors argue for a dynamic view of literacy into practice.

Novelistic Mimesis; or, Modalities of Cultural Modernity

  • This essay is an attempt to give a theoretical articulation of novelistic mimesis as the narrative form of modernity. With the passage to modernity, what assumes the locus of the symbolic authority is no longer God, Father, or tradition, but the cultural gaze or the ego-ideal. At the same time, this gaze paradoxically coalesces with the "spectacle of the world," on the side of the reified "other": the gaze is both the desexualized ego-ideal and its instantaneous transmogrification and resexualization in the opaque world of objects. The imaginary ego or the eye on the side of the subject of representation is held at abeyance in a state of perpetual fascination and desperation in relation to the gaze as the world of "others," which lies always at one remove from the purview of the imaginary ego. This understanding of the inadequation of the ego to the cultural gaze of the reified world provides a critical fulcrum upon which I base my theory of the modern narrative mimesis as the "perverse" field of spatial arrangement, in which the split of the subjectivity into the imaginary ego and the ego-ideal is suspended over the phantasmatic world of bodies and territories.

  • By considering decoupling between loops as a kind of measurable disturbance, a steady-state decoupling method based on feedforward compensation is proposed for a three-tank liquid level system often encountered in practical process control. In addition, the three-tank liquid level system's dynamic model with structure of two-input and two-output is presented according to its working principle. Finally simulation experiments given in C++Builder language demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A Study on Consumer Behavior of the Oriental Students Regarding Clothing purchase at Texas State of The United States (재미 동 남부 아시아계 유학생의 의류구매 행동에 관한 연구)

  • The Purpose of the study is to identify some factors affecting the consumer behavior of the Oriental students in the United States and provide some basic information for desirable consumer skills. The ninety subjects ere collected form the Oriental groups who were studying in Denton, Texas, U.S.A. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, X2-test. The results are as follows: 1) There are significant similarities in the consumer behavior of the Oriental students regarding the information source, the preferred type of clothing, the factors affecting the choice of retail store, and the satisfaction after the clothing purchase. 2) There are some differences in the consumer behavior among three groups regarding expenditures of the purchase of clothing and the preferred choice of retail store. This study concludes that the Oriental students tend to: 1) adjust their life style to new situation ; 2) avoid their conflicts dur to the language barrier; 3) have a limited income to stay in the USA; and 4) have their own social acceptability based on their nationality.

  • The Semantic Web technology, purporting to share, to reuse and to process by machines data stored in the Web environment, incessantly evolves to help human decision making; in particular, decision making based on data, or quantitative decision making. This trend drives researchers to fill the gap with strenuous efforts between the current state of the technology and the terminus of this evolution. The Semantic Web Constraint Language (SWCL) together with SWRL is one of these endeavors to achieve the goal. This paper focuses particularly on how to express the piecewise linear form in the context of SWCL. The importance of this ingredient can be fortified by the fact that any nonlinear expression can be approximated in the piecewise linear form. This paper will also provide the information of how it will work in the decision making process through an example of the Internet shopping mall problem.

  • The enumeration of various classes of paths in the real plane has an important implications in the area of combinatorics wit statistical applications. In 1887, D. Andre [3, pp. 21] first solved the famous ballot problem, formulated by Berttand [2], by using the well-known reflection principle which contributed tremendously to resolve the problems of enumeration of various classes of lattice paths in the plane. First, it is necessary to state the definition of NSEW-paths in the palne which will be employed throughout the paper. From [3, 10, 11], we can find results concerning many of the basics discussed in section 1 and 2.
