This study was designed to identity the degree of burden felt by mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome. Also, relations between the subject characteristics and burden were investigated to provide basis data for their family health and nursing intervention. The study subjects were composed of 70 mothers of nephrotic syndrome patients whose children were hospitalized in 2 Pediatric wards of University Hospital in Seoul and 1 in Pusan from Mar. 2nd, 1998 to May. 30th in the same year The questionnaires were used which dealt with burden of mothers. the questionnaires for this study designed and used by researcher placed their basis in Burden Measurement Instrument developed by Montgomery et. al (1985) and the reliability of the used instrument was .78. The data analysis was done by SPSS, t-test, ANOVA and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results of were as follows. 1. Mean score of burden of subjects was 60.82(Maximum 86, standard deviation 1.244). 2. Of the mothers characteristics, the score of burden was high in case of no religion and low income. 3. Of the patients characteristics, the score of burden ranked as high in MCNS, doing oral therapy and injection therapy at the same time, and negative perceived patients' condition. 4. The degree of burden felt by mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome was significantly predicted by the level of pt's diagnosis(11%), pt's condition(8%), economic state (6%) and pt's sex (5%), respectively. In conclusion to above study, the researcher suggests that the development of instrument for measurement of burden is in much need. Relations between burden and social support should be studied to lessen burden of mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome.
Objectives The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy for shoulder pain in hemiplegic patients after stroke. Methods For a systematic review and meta-analysis, we set a key question in accordance with participants, intervention, comparison, outcome, study design (PICO-SD). we searched for clinical studies that conducted chuna manual therapy for shoulder pain in hemiplegic patients after stroke 7 databases until September 2019. Only randomized controlled trials were chosen. Results Total 14 randomized controlled trials were chosen for systematic review and meta-analysis. 9 studies used efficacy rate as evaluation tool, and 8 used visual analogue scale. Pressure method (壓力型) was used in 11 studies, followed by osteopathy method (整骨型) and wave motion method (波動型) in 9 studies. Chuna manual therapy showed statistically significant pain reduction effect. Through meta analysis, Chuna manual therapy showed significant pain reducing effect except the study with Chuna manual therapy and electroacupuncture compared to electroacupuncture only. Conclusion As a result, Chuna manual therapy showed statistically significant effect in pain reduction. However, almost studies were evaluated in a state of having probable high risk of bias. This suggests that it requires attention to make an interpretation in this study. Furthermore, more clinical research need to be accomplished in the future.

This study analyzed the state of battered women who drink at a dangerously high level and the factors that influence their hazardous drinking in order to promote their safety and their healthy adjustments. The researchers utilized the data from "Analysis of the Effectiveness of Intimate Partner Violence Offenders Correction and Treatment Program" funded by Ministry of Gender Equality, and thereby, sampled 124 battered women for interview over phone. The results of applying the WHO's standard for hazardous drinking based on frequency and quantity calculations showed that 15.7% of survey participants were classified as hazardous drinkers, either currently experiencing or having the risk of experiencing problems related to drinking. The result of carrying out a logistic regression analysis to identify the factors that influence hazardous drinking showed that household income and self-blame were factors that exerted statistically significant influence. Based on these results, clinical and practical intervention plans for helping battered women who drink hazardously were discussed.
This study aims to suggest the methodology for conservation of excavated costumes especially repair and restoration process. Early excavated costumes had not attracted attention from the field of academia and the public. So not many scholars, organization and society participated in the excavations but as its value has gotten more recognition, there has been a reversal in trend. And so many organizations have taken part in it. Excavating includes conservation processes such as washing, repair and restoring, and then it is published by reports or books after the process is complete. However the method of conservation has varied depending on the institution. In particular, repair and restore methods do not include anything specific details, and often times, only has descriptions of the before and after state, and so a more unified method needs to be suggested and shared. This study defined 'Conservation', 'Repair' and 'Restoration' and then applied it to the short history of Korean excavated-costumes. Then it suggested ways to repair and restore excavated-costumes in terms of construction, textile, and damage by the unpublished cases of excavated-costumes of Noh Su-ham(1516~1573)'s Family. It was also referred to repair and restoration process such as shaping correction, dyeing, supporting, sewing and after treatment by texts and pictures. Other contents such as a list of relics and its details, will be published through a report or a book. The whole process of conservation was in progress based on the ethical guidelines of conservation, 'Minimum intervention' and 'Reversibility'.
Posttranplantations lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) is a common and life-threatening complication for soid organ transplantation associated with the use of chronic immunosuppression and Epstein-Barr virus. There is no standardized treatment algorithm, but numerous management strategies are vaiable. Partial splenic embolization (PSE) had been demonstrated to be an effetive alternatie to splenectomy for patients hypersplenism and portal hypertension. PSE has the advantages of non-invasive intervention and resolution of the complications of hypersplenism. We report the effect of the PSE in a 6-year old male liver transplantation recepient with PTLD who has undergone persistent hypersplenism post-transplant. We reduced immunosuppression agent, started antiviral agent. We started with interferon and IV globulin one month after admission. Hepatosplenomegaly and cervical lymphadenopathy were improved. But fever was not subside. We selectively embolized the lower pole of the spleen to achieve a 50~60% reduction in flow as determined by angiography. After embolization, fever subside and peripheral blood findings were improved. Follow up abdominal CT revealed reduced volume of spleen due to ischemic change and there was no multiple enlarged mesenteric lymphnode compared to preembolization state. We thick that PSE is a safe an effetive treatment modality of PTLD with persistent hypersplenism in patients twho failed to medical treatment.

PURPOSE : This study attempts to find the effects of water perturbation exercise performed on stroke patients in their physiological cost index and gait ability tests. METHOD : The subjects were 30 stroke patients, water perturbation exercise group was performed 3 day per week, for 40 minutes a day, for a period of eight weeks. The physiological cost index and gait of all subjects were assessed by using the polar, 6 Minute Walk Test (6MWT), and 10 meter Walk Test(10mWT) at pre training and post training. Paired t-test was used to analyze change before and after intervention in group. Pearson's correlation was used to analyze correlation of all variables. RESULT : Water perturbation exercise group showed increased physiological cost index. Water perturbation exercise increased gait ability, showing a significant difference. Showing the correlation between the relatively high amount between physiological cost index and 6 minutes walking test. CONCLUSION : From the result of the study, we found that water perturbation exercise was effective in improving physiological cost index and gait ability. The patient is considered to be used by itself to involve the treatment and the risk of falling from the lowered state into the treatment method for the intensive treatment of stroke patients to be useful in improving the cardiovascular system and ability to walk. Through underwater training for stroke patients in the future on the basis of this study it is considered to require additional clinical studies on the impact on daily living and quality of life of stroke patients.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate health management state during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum of immigrant women. Methods: A descriptive research design was employed. Data were collected from 182 immigrant women who lived in four provinces and D city. Subjects were completed the following questionnaires: demographic, medical service use, pregnancy and childbirth, and health management during the ante-postpartum. Results: The average age of subjects was 28.96 and 83 subjects (45.6%) were coming from Vietnam. 55 Subjects (30.2%) were within the low-income group with less than 4 million won per month. So, 62 subjects were uninsured women because of the expensive costs. Subjects mainly visited a health care center with their husband. On the using a health care center, subjects complained about communication difficulties and transportation problems. 42 Subjects were pregnant but 21.4% of pregnant subjects did not receive ante-natal care. Subjects got information about pregnancy and childbirth through their husbands and husband's family. Conclusion: Nursing intervention to manage the pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum of immigrant women need to be developed and should include strategies to take care of themselves after delivery and provide knowledge and information about ante-postpartum.
Background: This study was conducted with the purpose of evaluating the effect of skin cancer training provided to maritime high school students on their knowledge and behaviour. Materials and Methods: The study had a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test intervention and control groups. Two maritime high schools located in the city of Antalya were included within the scope of the study between March and June 2013, covering a total of 567 students. Results: While the knowledge mean scores of students regarding skin cancer and sun protection did not vary in the pre-test ($6.2{\pm}1.9$) and post-test ($6.8{\pm}1.9$) control group, the knowledge mean scores of students in the experimental group increased from $6.0{\pm}2.3$ to $10.6{\pm}1.2$ after the provided training. Some 25.4% of students in the experimental group had low knowledge level and 62.2% had medium knowledge level in the pre-test; whereas no students had low knowledge level and 94.3% had high knowledge level in the post-test. It was determined that tenth grade students, those who had previous knowledge on the subject, who considered themselves to be protecting from the sun better, had higher knowledge levels and their knowledge levels increased as the risk level increased. It was found that the provided training was effective and increased positively the knowledge, attitude and behaviour levels of students in the experimental group in terms of skin cancer and sun protection. Conclusions: Along with the provided training which started to form a lifestyle, appropriate attitudes and behaviours concerning skin cancer and sun protection could be brought to students who will work in outdoor spaces and are members of the maritime profession within the risk group.

The adsorption and decomposition of trimethylene oxide ($C_3H_6O$) molecule on the Al(111) surface were investigated by the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) of density functional theory (DFT). The calculations employed a supercell ($6{\times}6{\times}3$) slab model and three-dimensional periodic boundary conditions. The strong attractive forces between $C_3H_6O$ molecule and Al atoms induce the C-O bond breaking of the ring $C_3H_6O$ molecule. Subsequently, the dissociated radical fragments of $C_3H_6O$ molecule oxidize the Al surface. The largest adsorption energy is about -260.0 kJ/mol in V3, V4 and P2, resulting a ring break at the C-O bond. We also investigated the decomposition mechanism of $C_3H_6O$ molecules on the Al(111) surface. The activation energies ($E_a$) for the dissociations V3, V4 and P2 are 133.3, 166.8 and 174.0 kJ/mol, respectively. The hcp site is the most reactive position for $C_3H_6O$ decomposing.
Purpose: The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of horticultural therapy on cognitive function, self-esteem, depression and activities of daily living of elderly with dementia. Method: The research design was an one group pre and post-test study design. The subjects of this study were 7 elderly with dementia in K elderly institution in Daegu. Instruments used in this research were MMSE-K(Mini-mental state Examination Korean Version) developed by Kwon & Park, SES(Self-Esteem Scale) developed by Rosenberg. SDS(Self-Rating Depression Scale) developed by Zung and BADL(Bathel Activity Daily Living) developed by Bethel. One-hour horticultural therapy was offered to the study participants weekly for 12 weeks. Results: The results showed that self-esteem was significantly increased after the horticultural therapy. However, in terms of cognitive function. depression and ADL, there was no significant change after the horticultural therapy among these elderly. Conclusion: In this research. there were no obvious change in cognitive function. depression, and ADL after the horticultural therapy among participants. Although the difference was not statistically significant. descriptive statistics showed some difference in scores on these variables after the intervention. So, it is suggested to conduct a further research with larger samples and pre and post-test design with control group.
