  • This paper discusses algorithmic properties of a class of complementarity programs involving strictly diagonally isotone and off-diagonally isotone functions, i. e., functions whose Jacobian matrices have positive diagonal elements and nonnegative off-diagonal elements, A typical traffic equilibrium under elastic demands is cast into this class. Algorithmic properties of these complementarity problems, when a Jacobi-type iteration is applied, are investigated. It is shown that with a properly chosen starting point the generated sequence are decomposed into two converging monotonic subsequences. This and related will be useful in developing solution procedures for this class of complementarity problems.

  • The Boubaker polynomials arose from the discretization of the equations of heat transfer in pyrolysis starting from an assumed solution of the form $$\frac{1}{N}e^{\frac{A}{H/z+1}}\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}{\xi}_kJ_k(t),$$ where $J_k$ is the k-th order Bessel function of the first kind. In this paper, we investigate the distribution of zeros of the Boubaker polynomials.

  • It is often the case with the durability design to use diffusion coefficient obtained from experimental test. From the analytic solution considering the starting time of exposure, it is confirmed that the diffusion coefficient from NT BUILD 443 underestimates real reference value.

  • This paper handles main automation facilities and important control issues for hot rolling mill processes. Starting from the general procedures of production cycle, detailed tension control applications are handled based on field experiences and published research papers. Nowadays, quality control and delivery time control for products is becoming more and more important as the client demand is tighter than any other period. In this respect, control technology in steel making process takes very important position. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to share control problems with the people in academic field and by doing so, to get new and striking solution for the problems.

  • We have obtained the solution of van der Pol's equation characterized by an arctangent nonlinearity, using the perturbation method by writing periodicity conditions: $$X^{(n)}(2{\pi})-X^{(n)}(0)=0$$ $$X^{(n)'}(2{\pi})-X^{(n)'}(0)=0 (n=0,1,2......)$$ together with the starting condition: $$X^{(n)}(\frac{\pi}{2})=0,\;X^{(n)}'(\frac{\pi}{2})=-R^{(n)}$$. Our results agree with Liapunov's theorem and our calculated value is more similar to Murata's measured value than Murata's calculated value.

  • In the paper, one focuses on the problem of duality in non-linear programming, applied to the solution of no-tension problems by means of Limit Analysis (LA) theorems for Not Resisting Tension (NRT) models. In details, one demonstrates that, starting from the application of the duality theory to the non-linear program defined by the static theorem approach for a discrete NRT model, this procedure results in the definition of a dual problem that has a significant physical meaning: the formulation of the kinematic theorem.

  • Silicon, titanium, zirconium phosphates were synthesized by starting with appropriate chemical precursors in a solution. The synthetic procedure, chemical and physical structures were examined by FT-IR, liquid and solid state NMR, TGA, SEM, XRD, etc. The phosphates were examined for thermal and electrical properties. Advantages of the synthesis technique and the data on unique structures and thermal properties are reported.

  • The preparation of $PbTiO_3$ powder was carried out using the oxide starting material by hydrothermal method. The powder of a crystalline phase with perovskite structure was synthesized. The optimum conditions for the preparation of powder were as follows; hydrothermal solvent; 8M-KOH or 8M-NaOH, reaction temperature; 250~$270^{\circ}C$, run time; 10 h. The ,shape of synthesized powders were well developed crystalline faces with specific surface area of about 2.3 $\textrm m^2$/g in KOH solution and about 5.0 $\textrm m^2$/g in NaOH solution. The cell parameters of powder were a = 3.90$\AA$, c = 4.14 $\AA$ and cell volume was 57.30 $\AA^3$. The cell ratio (c/a) of powder was the same as the theoretical ratio with c/a = 1.06 and the phase transition temperature(Tc) of the powders was about $470^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper considers a single machine nonpreemptive scheduling problem with a given common due date. In the problem, the optimal job sequence is sought to minimize the sum of earliness/tardiness and flow time measures in the situation where all jobs are available at time zero, and weights per unit length of earliness/tardiness and flow time are V and W, respectively. Some dominant solution properties are characterized to deriva both an optimal starting time for an arbitrary sequence and sequence improvement rules. The optimal schedule is found to the case W .geq. V/. By the way, it is difficult to find the optimal schedule for the case W < V. Therefore, the derived properties are put on together to construct a heuristic solution algorithm for the case W < V, and its effectiveness is rated at the mean relative error of about 3% on randomly generated numerical problems.

  • Iron oxide powders were prepared under high temperature (up to $175^{\circ}C$) and pressure conditions( up to 129 pasi) by precipitation from metal nitrates with aqueous potassium hydroxide. Various types of iron oxide powders were obtained at different conditions. The size and the shape of the particles can be controlled as afunction of starting solution pH. The average particles size of the synthesized iron oxide powders increased, the particle shapes of the powders became fibrous, and the crystalline phase of the powder changes from iron oxide to iron hydroxide with increasing solution pH. The effects of synthesis parameters are discussed.
