Purpose - The present study aims to examine the relationship between small enterprise start-up preparatory factors and increases in sales and operating profits, which are business performances utilizing the National Survey of Actual Conditions of Small Enterprises conducted by the Small Enterprise, Market Service. Research design, data, and methodology - Start-up preparatory factors were divided into six types; business type, start-up history, start-up motives, preparatory periods, and start-up funds to figure out the relationship between sales and operating profits with regression analyses. Regression analyses were conducted based on the foregoing with a view to identifying the effects of start-up preparatory factors on business performance. Results - Since start-up preparatory factors generally affect business performance, it was identified that start-up preparatory factors importantly affect operating profits and sales, which are business performances. However, start-up preparatory periods and the implementation of education among preparatory activities were shown to have no effect on business performances, and the effect of the ratio of start-up fund provided by the founder on operating profits was shown to be not significant. Conclusions - The present study comprehensively examined those start-up preparatory factors that have positive effects on business performances after start-up. The present study is meaningful in that it can provide positive implications for efficient start-up of small enterprises hereafter.

This study investigated students' perception of a starting up business in the fashion design related departments of two year colleges to present the basic data for designing a start up business education and examined the opening status of the start up business subjects. Only 4.4% of respondents answered that they had an experience in a start up. And 76.2% of respondents answered that they would like to start up a business after graduation. The initial start up types were "online shopping mall" and "blog market" in that order. Nearly 86.7% of respondents answered that they needed "start up" education in college. To the question of whether they would participate if there is a start up extracurricular program, and the subject they would choose, 40.9% answered "I want to get a start up related certification", showing the highest rate of interest in the course. The status of introducing start up business subjects in the regular courses in fashion design related departments in 25 two year colleges related that there were 11 start up related courses begun in the last semester, that is, the 2nd semester of the 2nd year. Since the proportion of clothing in online shopping malls is high, start up education based on the demands of students in fashion design majors can be used as another employment exit strategy.
It was only 2010 when start-up education spread to undergraduate education in South Korea. Start-up education was conducted so late that there are insufficient studies of evaluation and feedback on the effectiveness of start-up education. Education is a complex concept of teaching people in a desirable direction and developing their inherent abilities. Based on this, start-up education can be defined as cultivating students' entrepreneurial spirit internally and making them exhibit start-up competence externally by teaching them the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for business start-up and developing abilities such as creativity, challenge spirit and problem-solving skills. This study conducted pre and post survey to check if the education camp for the technology start-up, which is a practice-oriented start-up education, has an effect on the change of the participating students' perceptions about the business start-up. This study would analyze various factors of college students' business start-up through a factorial analysis so that the quantitative accumulation of start-up education can lead to a qualitative change and propose measures for the management of the quality of the education.

This study examined which influence the pre-entrepreneurs' individual norm and start-up preparation level have upon a start-up intention, and analyzed a moderating effect in start-up education as for a relationship of individual norm and start-up preparation level with a start-up intention. For the purpose of offering useful data so that the pre-entrepreneurs of planning start-up can do more successful start-up through this, it carried out questionnaire from September 13, 2017 to November 14, 2017 targeting pre-entrepreneurs who received start-up education at an educational institution and a university that are located in K region. As a result, excluding 11 copies with a difficulty in the application to statistics among totally 211 copies, 200 copies were chosen as the final samples. Data were conducted reliability analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis by using SPSS 20.0. The results are as follows. First, the individual norm had a significant impact on a start-up intention. Second, the start-up preparation level had a significant effect on a start-up intention. Third, the start-up education had a moderating impact in the relationship between the individual norm and the start-up intention. Fourth, the start-up education had a moderating influence in the relationship between the start-up preparation level and the start-up intention. However, this study limited the sampling region to K area, thereby having a limitation in generalizing the findings all over the country. Moreover, there is a suggestion that a continuous research will need to be performed in terms of an influential factor in pre-entrepreneurs' start-up intention as well as in individual norm and start-up preparation level.

This study aimed to verify those start-up mentoring educational factors in this society where any systematic and practical start-up educational contents as well as experts in the start-up education are being asked for in order to meet the demand for the start-up. Not only to build up a theoretical foundation for how to make the best use of the start-up mentoring education as in the start-up educational programs but also to understand any possibilities of that education, the study divided the start-up mentoring educational factors into features of the start-up mentoring educational contents, a start-up mentoring educational system and an ability of a mentor in charge of start-up mentoring education as independent variables, and regarding the satisfaction with the start-up education and the start-up intention, the study determined them as dependent variables. The study, then, designed a research model and formulated hypotheses. In order to verify those hypotheses, the study conducted an empirical analysis on those who have finished the start-up educational course in JST, Incheon, which has been actively engaging in the start-up mentoring education. According to the results from the empirical analysis, first, of all the start-up mentoring educational factors, the features of the contents and the mentor's ability were observed to improve the satisfaction with the education as the features of the start-up mentoring educational contents and the system appeared to have a positive influence on the start-up intention.
This study analyzed the effects of start-up preparations for start-ups, start-up support for start-ups, and accelerator support on business satisfaction for start-ups. For this purpose, an empirical analysis was conducted on 308 founders. The main empirical study results are as follows. Start-up preparation, start-up support, and accelerator support have positive(+) significance in the start-up satisfaction of start-up companies. Among the variables that had a significant effect, the preparation of the start-up team was found to have the greatest influence. These results are considered to be consistent with the view that the importance of the private start-up support system is gradually increasing in the start-up ecosystem, and that the composition of the start-up team is the most important factor in start-up.

This study looked into entrepreneur-like psychological characteristics such as achievement needs and entrepreneurship including start-up motivation in order to discover factors that would affect start-up intention which can be referred to as an origin of start-up vitalization and to discuss causal relations among the factors. In other words, the study took a look into how both achievement needs and entrepreneurship would influence start-up intention as focusing on mediating roles of start-up motivation. To achieve the research goal, the study conducted an empirical analysis on a total of 181 samples of survey gathered from founders of these companies that had moved into a start-up support center. Findings of the analysis reported that first of all, achievement needs and entrepreneurship have positive effects on start-up motivation, and the study confirmed that the two variables work as antecedent variables of start-up motivation. Second of all, start-up motivation is significantly connected to start-up intention, and that definitely proved precedence relation following relation between the two variables. Third of all, mediating effects of start-up motivation on relations among start-up needs, entrepreneurship and start-up intention which are said to be cores of this study were observed. To sum up, the study learned that start-up motivation as a mediator contributes to how achievement needs and entrepreneurship would strengthen start-up intention. In conclusion, the study suggests that these entrepreneur-like psychological characteristics such as achievement needs, entrepreneurship and especially start-up motivation should be improved if anyone would like to increase start-up intention. Based on results presented above, the study offers theoretical and practical implications in relation to start-up intention.
Start-up is a very important task for the development of the country as well as individuals for entrepreneurs with novel ideas, experiences, and know-how. Most of the new start-ups often have no start-up experience, and the government and universities operate start-up incubator centers so that start-up companies can grow and develop. The goal is to improve the success rate of technology-based start-ups. It supports various needs of start-up companies and supports start-up companies to succeed by enabling them to maximize their potential. The expected effect of the start-up incubator center can be said to be a contribution to the development of the national economy through the revitalization of start-ups. This study aims to consider ways to achieve performance through the efficient operation of domestic start-up incubator centers.

This study was proceeded to empirically identify the start-up support policy as an element that affects the performance of the early start-ups and measure the effectiveness of the current start-up support policy, in order to suggest the direction future policies according to the study. To accomplish this the influence of the start-up support policy on the early start-ups was analyzed, and the differences according to the industry and growth stage of the start-ups, as the characteristics of the start-ups, were identified. The research subjects collected real data of 297 start-ups of the past three years that were selected for the Initial Start-Up Package project, and performed multiple regression analysis on the influence between variables, and hierarchical regression analysis on moderating effects. The summary of the study is as follows. First, as a result of identifying the influential relationship between the start-up support policy and the performance of the start-up, sales had made a significant impact on the start-up fund, start-up mentoring, and start-up infrastructure(space), while start-up education failed to show a significant effect on the increase in sales. In terms of employment, start-up mentoring was the only field that showed a significant influential relationship. Second, as a result of identifying the moderating effect of the start-up's industry and growth stage, the industry did not have a statistically significant influence, but the interactive effect was seen in start-up education. To be more specific in terms of the sales relationship of each industry, knowledge services turned out to be helpful in improving sales, while manufacturing turned out to be effective in improving sales regardless of being supported with start-up mentoring and start-up infrastructure (space). The sales relationship regarding the start-up growth stage was identified to be statistically significant. The preliminary stage was not statistically significant, while providing start-up mentoring and start-up funding were effective for start-up stage and growing stage, respectively. On the other hand, employment did not perform a significant influence on the start-up growth stage. This study analyzes the effectiveness the start-up support policy for early start-ups, identifies the need in differentiated support policies according to the characteristics of the start-ups, and suggests implications for the direction in which future policies should be made towards.

The purpose of this study is, first, to empirically verify the relationship between the influences of the start-up performance and the inherent fear factor of failure on the start-up performance through the preparation of the start-up. Second, this study aims to prove the influence of the moderating effect of social support on the relationship between start-up preparation and the burden of start-up failure. The research subjects were sampled and analyzed by 298 start-ups who are currently starting their own businesses. This study founds that preparation of start-up items, which is a subordinate theory of start-up preparation, had a significant effect on start-up performance, and that anxiety about failure had a significant effect on start-up performance. Using the SPSS statistical program, the hierarchical regression analysis proved the moderating effect of social support in the relationship between star-tup preparation, start-up failure burden and startup performance. Furthermore, the moderating effect of social support among start-up preparation, start-up failure burden and start-up achievement was analyzed, but no significant results were found for start-up failure burden. Besides, the effect of the opposite concept of independent variables on the dependent variables at the same time is to be analysed.
