스프링클러설비의 화재안전기준 요소의 성능분석 및 개선방안 (Performance Analysis and Improvement of National Fire Safety Code elements of Sprinkler System)

  • 본 논문에서는 스프링클러설비가 설치된 대상물에서의 화재발생 시 인명피해 발생통계를 통하여 화재안전기준 요소의 성능을 분석하고 국내 화재안전기준 요소와 미국의 NFPA 13의 기준과의 비교를 통하여 성능을 분석함으로써 합리적이고 공학적인 화재안전기준 제정으로 인명 및 재산피해를 감소시킬 수 있는 개선방안에 대하여 연구하였다. 미국의 경우 스프링클러설비가 설치된 경우가 설치되지 않은 경우에 비하여 화재 당 사망률이 83 % 정도 낮았으나 국내의 경우 280 % 정도로 미국의 경우보다 3.37 배 높았다. 이와 같은 소화성능의 결여는 일률적인 용도분류, 화재하중을 고려하지 않은 수원의 양, 살수밀도를 고려하지 않은 기준개수 및 수평거리에 따른 스프링클러설비의 설치가 그 원인으로 분석되었다.

  • Perception of the public to structural fires is very important because there are only a number of tall timber buildings constructed in the world. People are hesitating to accept tall timber buildings, so it is essential to ensure the first generation of tall timber buildings to a very high standard, especially fire safety. Right now, there are no specific design standards or regulations for fire design of tall timber buildings in Europe. Even though heavy timber members have better fire resistance than steel components, many conditions still need to be verified before considering the use of timber materials, e.g. fire spread, post-fire collapse, etc. This research numerically explores the structural behaviours of a tall Glulam building when one of its internal Glulam (Glued laminated timber) columns fails after sustaining a full 120-min standard fire and is removed from the established finite element building model created in SAP2000. The numerical results demonstrate that the failure and removal of the selected internal Glulam column may lead to the local failure of the adjacent CLT (Cross laminated timber) floor slabs, but will not lead to large disproportionate damage and collapse of the whole building. Here, the building is assumed to be located in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

아파트 지하주차장 소화기의 유지관리 효율화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effective Method of Fire Extinguisher Maintenance In the Underground Parking Lot of the Apartment)

  • The definition of an apartment is a building more than 5 stories high and which is the standard law. Currently, the number of apartments is increasing much faster than detached houses. Owning an apartment is a normal trend these days. However, the increasing number of apartments has been increasing the number of apartment fires which also has been making social problems. Therefore, this study was conducted for the fire extinguisher among other fire facilities because it is important for initial fire suppression. The research subject is on the fire extinguisher that is in the underground parking lot of 40 apartment complexes which are more than 10 stories. Survey and analysis were conducted for 80 fire extinguishers. There are two fire extinguishers for each apartment. The result of this study is that all installed fire extinguishers are ABC dry chemical type, 92% of them is 3.3kg and that meet the legal height(less than 1.5m). However, the condition such as appearance, inspection, manufactured year, appearance of signs, material of signs, size of signs, etc. was insufficiency. So improvement of law and system that are fire facility construction, maintenance implementation and additional designation of type approval about sign will be needed in my opinion.

제천스포츠센터의 수직 화재확산 해석을 위한 화재시뮬레이션 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Simulation for Vertical Fire Diffusion Analysis of Jecheon Sports Center)

  • In December 2017, a fire at the Jecheon Sports Center caused 29 deaths and 40 injuries, and about 2 billion won in property damage. It is a facility used by unspecified people as a publicly used establishment with a piloti structure. The damage was expanded due to the ignition of combustible exterior materials, Lack of fire protection in horizontal and vertical penetrations. Although legislation has improved since the fire, it is not retroactively applied, increasing the risk of fire in existing buildings. Accordingly, it is necessary to examine the case of the Jecheon Sports Center fire and draw out the problems. In this study, the fire simulation results and the Jecheon Sports Center fire are comparatively analyzed and used as basic data for fire reduction measures in publicly used establishment. As a result of the fire simulation drive, in the case of the second floor, the room temperature exceeded the human life safety standard of 60 ℃ after about 700 seconds had passed. In the case of three floor, it is predicted that the indoor temperature will exceed about 350 ℃. and temporary complexation will occur in the indoor combustibles.

이산화탄소 소화설비 현장 방출시험 방법론에 관한 고찰 (A Study on On-site Discharge Testing for Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishing Systems)

  • 이산화탄소 소화설비는 질식소화가 주된 소화작용이므로 제한된 시간 내에 소화약제를 방출하여 방호구역의 산소농도를 기준치 이하로 유지시키는 능력이 확보되어야 한다. 국내에서 이산화탄소 소화설비는 국민안전처 고시에 따라 인증된 설계프로그램을 사용하여 소화설비를 설계하고 있다. 그러나 소화설비가 설치된 방호구역의 기하학적 구조는 성능인증 단계의 모의실험장치와 차이가 있기 때문에 설계프로그램 적용 범위를 벗어난 소화설비 설계가 이루어질 수 있다. 특히, 저압식 이산화탄소 소화설비는 배관 내 유동현상에 따라 소화약제 방출량이 변하므로 소화설비 설치 후에 현장 방출시험을 통하여 성능을 확인할 필요가 있다. 현재까지 국내 외 기술기준에는 방출시험에 대한 방법론이 구체적으로 명시되어 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 국내외 기술기준을 비교 분석하고, 방출시험 사례분석을 통하여 현장 방출시험 방법론을 제시하였다.

강섬유보강콘크리트의 내화성에 관한일실험 (Fire Resistance Test of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete)

  • In this study, fire resistance of steel fiber reinforced concrete was investigated Cylindrical and prismatic specimens made of Ordinary Portland Cement plain concrete and steel fiber reinforced concrete were exposed to heating in accordance with a standard time-temperature curve as specified in KS·F22 57, method of fire resistance test for structural parts of buildings, the period of heating was 1 hour and 2 hours. After the fire resistance test, mechanical properties of specimens such as compressive and bending strength, stress-strain curve, static and dynamic modulus of elasticity and bending toughness were investigated. Also the cracks and spallings of the specimens were observed. From the test results, it was confirmed that steel fiber reinforced concrete has a excellent fire resistance than plain concrete in the view of higher residual strength of concrete and smaller crackings because of steel fibers in concrete.

중소형화재실험을 이용한 외단열 시스템(EIFS) 화재위험성평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Risk Assessment of EIFS by Cone Calorimeter Test & Single Burning Item Test)

  • Recently, in circumstantial situation it is recommended positively to utilize of EIFS(Exterior Insulating and Finishing System) as energy policy for economizing energy. But internal EPS insulators of EIFS are exterior panel of high fire risk, because of constituting of flammable materials to be fragile in fire. In this study, fire risk is assessed by experiment Con Calorimeter test and SBI(Single Burning Item) test. As the result of experiment, Con Calorimeter tests do not reach to capability standard of internal incombustible grade, and are assessed as low grade in SBI incombustible grade. Because EIPS is exterior material in buildings with high fire risk in spite of good efficiency, it is required rapidly to take measures to meet situation through various studies(for instance, adjusting law regulation, etc.) in the future.

  • Gypsum is an important building material used to provide fire resistance to constructions by reducing their temperature rises. As the hardened gypsum is exposed to fire, evaporation of both the free water and the chemical bond water is easier than that in the cement extruding panel. The purpose of this study is to investigate the utilizability of alpha-hemihydrate gypsum to prevent spalling failure of cement extruding panel exposed to fire. This paper reports the fire-resistance property of a controled general cement extruding panel(C100), and gypsum-cement extruding panels(C50A50, A100) according to replacement ratio of alpha-hemihydrate gypsum. As a results, it is found that A100 and C50A50 are more effective to prevent the explosive spalling failure under standard fire condition than C100.

  • A case study of fire risk analysis was conducted for train coach which has no gangway doors between coaches. The analysis boundary was limited to the time of outgoing from the coaches for it was train fire risk analysis. ASET(available safe egress time) and RSET(required safe egress time) methodology was used for calculating the dead. 4 liters of gasoline and cable fire at the electric cabinet and the standard fire of EN 45545 were selected for the fire sources. The fire were considered to be occurred at 3 different locations in the car. The train had 3 cases of driving scenarios. The result of all event was summarized for remained tunnel and station egress step.

  • 최근 건축물의 초고층화에 따른 커튼월 시공에 따라 유리의 비중이 증가하고 있다. 커튼월 구조는 바람, 지진 등에 취약하며, 화재 안전성에 있어서도 취약할 것이라 판단되므로, 국내외 건축용 유리 및 커튼월의 안전기준에 대한 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 국내의 유리 기준은 단열 및 내풍압 성능에만 집중되어있으며, 화재 및 지진, 안전성능에 대한 기준이 미비하며, 커튼월에 대한 안전대책은 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 외국의 사례와 같이 초고층에서 커튼월의 안전성능을 고려한 설계프로세스나 안전 기준의 세부화가 필요하다고 판단된다.
