  • This paper addresses the issues of the parameter error detection and identification in power system. The parameter error identification is carried out as part of the state estimation procedure. The weighted least absolute value(WLAV) estimation method is used for this procedure. The standard formulation of the state estimation problem is modified to include the effects of the parameter errors as well. A two step procedure for the detection and identification of faulted parameters is proposed. Supporting examples are given using IEEE 14 bus system.

A Robust Subset Selection Procedure for Location Parameter Based on Hodges-Lehmann Estimators

  • This paper deals with a robust subset selection procedure based on Hodges-Lehmann estimators of location parameters. An improved formula for the estimated standard error of Hodges-Lehmann estimators is considered. Also, the degrees of freedom of the studentized Hodges-Lehmann estimators are investigated and it is suggested to use 0.8n instead of n-1. The proposed procedure is compared with the other subset selection procedures and it is shown to have good effciency for heavy-tailed distributions.

  • This research developes a microcomputer program for MSD which is one of the most widely llsed predetermined time standards. The program is written in BASIC and designed mainly for desk-top or portable microcomputer to facilitate the development of standard times for time study analysis. A simple case is illustrated to show the program running procedure.

  • The goal of this paper is to develop the speech recognition system which can control the ship's auto pilot. The feature parameters predicting the speaker's intention was extracted from the sample wheel orders written in SMCP(IMO Standard Marine Communication Phrases). And we designed the post-recognition procedure based on the parameters which could make a final decision from the list of candidate words. To evaluate the effectiveness of these parameters and the procedure, the basic experiment was conducted with total 525 wheel orders. From the experimental results, the proposed pattern recognition procedure has enhanced about 42.3% over the pre-recognition procedure.

  • To boost the IPTV industry, it has being considered to provide terminal portability from one service provider to another for users. If the terminal portability is guaranteed, then a service user can purchase an IPTV terminal in a market and select an IPTV service provider. For this, the IPTV terminal should process a series of pre-configuration, so called provisioning procedure. Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) established the standard of IPTV terminal provisioning procedure, TTAK.KO-08.0026. In this paper, we explain the revised standard TTAK.KO-08.0026/R2, and introduce the architecture, functions, operating procedures and parameters of the IPTV terminal provisioning system that we implemented based on it. Finally, we discuss the future issues of the standard of the IPTV terminal provisioning procedure.

  • This paper has theoretically and practically reviewed the ISO (International Standard Organization) 17123-8 standard not only to raise the appropriateness for introducing performance criteria of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) surveying equipment based on RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) accuracy but also to derive its proper test procedure by introducing the international standard. Field experiments have been performed to appreciate the GNSS-RTK accuracy of five selected receivers via the full testing procedure of the ISO standard, which statistically compares the so-called experimental standard deviations with themselves and with the reference accuracy. A series of statistical tests have revealed that the RTK accuracy of the same class receivers is not identical, whereas that of the different classes can be equivalent. Such a result evidences the urgency of adopting an RTK accuracy-based specification of the GNSS equipment to the performance standard, currently referenced to the static observation technique only. It is believed that this transition helps the maximization of a new generation of cost-effective receivers to legal surveying applications. Finally, this study proposes the ISO full test, comparing an experimental standard deviation with its referenced value, for a potential field verification procedure of the new performance standard.

  • Purpose: This study intends to review the risk assessment procedures specified in the corporate disaster management standard. Method: The requirements for each stage of risk assessment stipulated in the corporate disaster management standard were identified, the case of application of the organization'A' and the partner companies were reviewed, and the risk assessment procedure in line with the requirements was reviewed. Result: It was reviewed that it was necessary to clearly define the method and procedure for deriving risk scenarios, which are the requirements of the corporate disaster management standard, and to introduce a standardized procedure for deriving risk scenarios. Conclusion: A method of deriving risk scenarios was implemented by applying the STPA technique based on the system theory for power generation fuel supply and demand, and it was suggested that the STPA technique be reflected in corporate disaster management standards as a risk scenario derivation technique for the establishment of a disaster reduction activity plan.

  • In general, Digital Photogrammetry is based on independent workstation system, which is costly and has complex process. In this research, a new approach method regarding Digital Photogrammetry procedure is suggested using Web Processing Service, which is a GIS standard proposed by Open Geospatial Consortium. For the experiment, many Generic Processes were defined through WPS profiling procedure which defines standard unit for Photogrammetry, and with the defined process each server and client S/W module was implemented based on WPS standards. In this paper, many users can be expected to share and reuse unit process in WPS server through the web.

  • Shore hardness test was developed in 1906 to overcome the limit of Brinell hardness test. However, the detailed requirements on the tester was not clearly specified except the scale, i.e., 100 HS for high carbon steel and 10 HS for soft brass. As a result, the shore hardness was used for quite long time without well established standards. For the establishment of hardness standards, standard tester, standard procedure, and standard hardness block must be provided. So far the standard of Shore hardness was maintained by correlating Shore hardness scale to Vickers hardness through converting equation. This is the so called converted Shore hardness and it is not the true Shore hardness standard strictly. In this paper, the possibility of establishing Shore hardness standard based on the Shore standard hardness tester is reported.

  • We followed the below procedure to establish the development strategy of CITIS standard. At first, we investigated Military CITIS and Commercial CITIS to establish the concept of CITIS and examined several implemented examples. And using the previous analysis, We analyzed the structure of the functions, the technologies and the standards. To establish the development strategy of CITIS standard, we divided CITIS standards into three category, These are infrastrucure standard, data standard and process standard. In the process standard, we analyzed how we develop a formulated process and which item we select to make formulated official documents. And finally, We explained the implementation plan and extension strategy of government-enterprise and inter-enterprise CITIS respectively.
