멀티미디어 분야에서는 오늘날의 시스템의 요구사항을 만족할 뿐만 아니라 미래의 데이터 공유 필요성을 만족할 수 있도록 확장될 수 있는 환경 데이터 표현 및 교환 메카니즘을 필요로 한다. 이러한 메카니즘은 표준화된 방법으로 데이터 표현 및 엑세스를 할 수 있도록 해야 한다. SEDRIS의 STF(SEDRIS Transmittal Format)는 이러한 목적을 가능케하는 표준으로써, 환경 데이터 사용자 및 생성자에게 명료하게 정의된 교환 명세를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 SEDRIS의 표준 교환 포맷을 이용하여 상용 포맷(3DX MAX)을 정보 내용의 의미 손실없이 교환 포맷으로, 교환 포맷을 상용 포맷으로 변환하기 위한 컨버터를 개발하였다.

모델링 및 시뮬레이션 분야에서 이미 모델링되어 있는 환경 데이터를 재사용하고 확장할 수 있는 방법은 매우 중요하다. 이에 환경데이터의 공유 필요성을 만족할 수 있도록 확장될 수 있는 환경 데이터 표현 및 교환 메카니즘이 절대적으로 필요하다고 할 수 있다. SEDRIS의 STF(SEDRIS Transmittal Format)는 이러한 목적을 가능케 하는 표준으로써, 환경 데이터 사용자 및 생성자에게 명료하게 정의된 교환 명세를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 SEDRIS의 표준 교환 포맷을 이용하여 상용 포맷(Maya)을 정보 내용의 의미 손실 없이 교환 포맷으로, 교환 포맷을 상용 포맷으로 변환하기 위한 자동변환기를 설계 및 구현하였다.

Among the driving methods of CALS, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), the pivot of procurement and logistics, is becoming the standard of data interchange. In this article, we examine the standard, growth, and status of EDI, and present a scheme to make it available via Internet that grow to be a standardized network, in comparison with a method to use a Value Added Network(VAN). So we studied an implementation of EDI system to exchange and process the business intra-works in order to integrate it into Intranet environment. As well, we present a client/server model running under Intranet environment, and a system with a format server to share the load of server and client. To do this, we list the functions and requirements of EDI system, connect a database to the Intranet, and develop applications using $Java^{TM}$.

UML은 소프트웨어 시스템을 그래픽 모델링하는 객체 지향 방법론이다. UML 그래픽 편집기를 개발하였는데, 소프트웨어 개발 주기 동안에 다양한 설계 객체들이 발생한다. 이는 의미 정보와 뷰에 관한 정보들로 구성되는 설계 객체는 관계형 데이터 베이스 시스템이 관리한다. 기존에 UML을 지원하는 많은 도구들이 존재하는데, 이들은 설계 객체들을 웹 상에서 공유하기 위한 명확한 양식을 가지고 있지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제점을 극복하여 UML설계 객체를 상호 교환하고, 공동으로 공유하기 위한 XML 기반의 UDXF(UML, Design object exchange Format) 교환 양식을 개발하였다. UDXF는 UML 설계 객체들을 단순하고 구조화된 양식으로 변환한다. XML 표준에 의한 모델 정보의 교환에 의하여 공동작업과 설계 객체의 재사용이 가능하다. 또한 UDXF 형식의 설계 객체를 위한 설계 객체 저장소 관리자를 제안한다.

본 논문은 서로 다른 시스템들과 응용들 간의 문서 정보 교환을 위해 기존의 워드프로세서(wordprocessor) 화일을 국제 표준 형식인 ODIF(Open Document Interchange Format) 데이터 스트림(stream)으로 변환하는 시스템에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 국제 기본 표준인 ODA(Open Document Architecture)와 기능 표준인 FOD 26을 채택하며, 기존의 문서 화일은 보석글V 화일을 채택한다. 구현 단계에서 국제 표준의 기능 표준에 기본해 설계함으로써 국제 환경 속에서 문서 교환이 가능하며, 멀티미디어 문서 정보통신 분야에 크게 기여할 수 있으리라 본다. 본 시스템은 PC 환경에서 Windows, ODAC(ODA Consortium) 툴킷(toolkit)을 사용한다.

미국의 전자산업협회(Electronic Industries Association)에서는 1991년부터 CASE 도구간의 정보교환을 용이하게 하기 위하여 CDIF (CASE Data Interchange Format) 이라는 표준 형식을 제정해 오고 있다. 각 CASE 도구에서 사용된 데이터를 CDIF 형식으로 변환만 해주면 다른 CASE 도구에서 이를 자신에 맞는 형식으로 변환하여 사용할 수 있다. 이때 각 CASE 도구 공급자는 CDIF 형식으로 변환 혹은 CDIF 형식을 자신에 적합한 형식으로 변환하는 프로그램을 작성하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 불편을 해소하기 위해서 CASE 도구 공급자가 각 CASE 도구에서 사용된 자료의 저장형식을 지정하여 주면 CDIF 형식을 지원하는 변환기의 소스코드를 자동으로 생성하는 생성기를 개발하였다. 이 자동 생성기는 CASE 도구에서 사용된 자료의 저장형식, 저장형식에 대한 메타정보, CDIF 메타정보를 입력받아서 CDIF 문장을 생성한다. 본 연구에서 개발한 자동 생성기는 정보저장소에 관계없이 단일화된 인터페이스를 제공하는 JDBC 및 Oracle과 Sun O/S 환경하에서 구현하였다.

EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) allows the exchange of business information and computer-processable data in a standard, structured format electronically between organizational entities. EDI handles the restructuring of a business document into the standard format so that it can be transmitted from one computer to another. This paper identifies features and technologies of web browsed electronic document exchange system as follows 1) the fundamental technologies that consists of the EDI technologies, the Internet/Web technologies, the security/authentication techniques, and the XML implementation technologies. 2) the functions that consists of the document standards, transfer technology of the document, encryption and authentication 3) the implemented Web-EDI systems that consists of document generation module, encryption and authentication module, transfer module, acknowledgement module, administration module. In this paper, the Web-based EDI system implemented from the researched technologies will be installed on the EDI servers owned by corporate customers and enable the exchange of documents between each installed companies.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is the mobile TV service based on a digital radio transmission system that provides high quality audio/video and other auxiliary data services. As users want to store the DMB content in their device to be consumed later or to be shared among users, a standardized format needs to be specified to guarantee the interoperability for the DMB contents for various devices. DMB AF (Application Format) specification defines a file format for DMB contents and services. It specifies how to combine the variety of DMB contents with associated information for a presentation in a well-defined format that facilitates storage, interchange, management, editing, and presentation of the DMB contents in protected, governed, and interoperable ways. In this paper we present our implementation of DMB AF as part of the development of DMB AF reference software. Our implementation of DMB AF is developed as the reference software for the standard specification that consists of a three applications: packager, media player, metadata browser and collection of supporting libraries used by the applications.

As the distributed simulation system has been developed in the defense modeling and simulation, interoperability among heterogeneous simulators is essential to achieve the objectives of the distributed simulation system. However, the interoperability has been a problem to synchronize synthetic environment among many heterogeneous simulators that utilize different environmental data formats. SEDRIS (Synthetic Environmental Data Representation and Interchange Specification) was initiated to solve the problem of the interoperability. SEDRIS provides a standard mechanism to promote data interchange and reusability, and it represents all environmental things from ocean, land and atmosphere to the universe. Although SEDRIS provides various advantages as a standard environmental data format, applying of SEDRIS has been hindered by its broadness and complexity. The main objective of this paper is to explain application development process to improve SEDRIS usability for the atmosphere and ocean. The developed application of this paper provides auto-generation of SEDRIS data with minimum user's input, and the auto-generated SEDRIS data is also visualized and verified by the application.

Currently, it is possible to buy almost anything from books(Amazon.com) to airplane tickets(Travelocity.com) using the world wide web. The purpose of this research is to develop a "clean interface" between design and fabrication facilities for the production of custom machined parts through Internet. The current mechanism for production of prototype parts that can be fabricated using standard machine tools like milling machines, requires a process of part description preparation, bidding, contract award, and finally fabrication and delivery of the part. This is a substantially more complex process than buying a book or airplane ticket. In this paper, we try to define the ambiguous part description using XML based data exchange format and to enable e-commerce in this field. The research accomplishments are summarized: 1. Creation of a new format for data exchange of machined prototype parts, 2. Development of a prototype system to illustrate how the XML data can be effectively used to conduct e-Commerce for custom machined parts, 3. Testing of the methodology with a number of parts.
