효율적인 기술문서 개발을 위한 DITA 표준 적용 (Adopting DITA Standard for Developing Technical Documentation Efficiently)

  • In engineering industry, technical documentation refers to any type of documentation that describes handling, functionality and architecture of a technical product. The intended audiences for product technical documentation is the end user, the administrator, service or maintenance technician. Competition and rapid technological evolutions have created pressure to release new and improved products on an increasingly frequent basis. As the technical capabilities of products advance, the technical documentation for those products is becoming longer and complex. The Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is and XML-based, end-to-end architecture for authoring, producing, and delivering technical documents. DITA is an OASIS standard that allows documentation groups to single-source document for multiple products and users, to automatically publish that documentation in several media formats including PDF and HTML, and to efficiently maintain and update that documentation. This paper study on the various implementation projects for technical documentation using OASIS DITA standard and examines the potential for using DITA as a solution for reconstructing existing technical documentation. Also We offer an incremental adoption approach to effectively implement DITA standard of technical documentation project for domestic firms, while reducing failures.

Corporate Social Responsibility: A Survey of the Italian SA8000 Certified Companies

  • Today's society requires companies to act more and more effectively for the general good, by respecting human rights and the environment. Innovative and enlightened companies try to meet this need through the adoption of several initiatives. Accordingly, the International Standard Organisation is now working on attempts to unify these initiatives and to formulate an internationally recognised standard, providing guidance to companies on social responsibility. Currently the SA8000 international standard is the most often used tool-based on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philosophy - which guarantees the respect of fundamental workers' rights. Since 2003, Italy holds the world record for its number of SA8000 certified companies. This paper discusses the findings of a two-stage survey of the Italian SA8000 certified companies carried out over the last two years. The focus of the survey is on both reasons and effects of the implementation of SA8000 standard. In the first stage the rate of response was very high while in the second stage it was satisfactory. The results provide a clear picture of the companies and their degree of achievement and awareness of the fundamental principles of human resource management. A section of the survey deals with some issues related to the Public Sector.

국내 임상시험 전자화 현황과 적용방안 (Current State and Applications of the Electronic Clinical Trial Process in Korea)

  • 최근 국내 임상시험의 양적 증가와 더불어, 임상시험 자료를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 Electronic Data Capture(EDC) 시스템의 도입 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 식품의약품안전청에서는 '임상시험 전자 자료 처리 및 관리를 위한 가이드라인'을 발표하였다. 이는 향후 국내 임상시험 전자 자료 관리에 관한 법률 제정을 위한 기초가 될 것으로 기대한다. 이 연구에서는 국내 임상시험 관련 기관인 병원과 임상시험 수탁기관(CRO), 그리고 제약회사에서의 EDC 시스템 이용 현황과 관계자들이 인식하는 가이드라인 및 전자 자료 표준의 중요성 및 적용 용이성과 이해도를 조사하였다. 국내 임상시험 관련 기관에서의 EDC 시스템 이용률은 77.6% 이었지만 EDC 시스템을 이용한 임상시험 건수는 5건 미만이 가장 많았다. EDC 시스템은 주로 약물동력학 시험을 하는 phase I과 임상효과와 안전성을 평가하는 phase II 임상시험에서 주로 이용되었고, 기관별로는 CRO의 이용률이 가장 높았다. 모든 집단에서 가이드라인의 중요성은 높게 인식하였으나, 적용 용이성 측면에서는 CRO에서 가장 높았다. 또한, 임상시험 전자 자료 표준의 중요성을 높게 인식하였고, 전자 자료 수집에 있어 표준의 필요성을 높게 인식하였다. 그러나 임상시험 전자 자료 국제표준인 Clinical Data Interchange Standard Consortium(CDISC)에 대한 이해도는 아직 낮은 수준이었다. 이 연구 결과는 국내 임상시험 전자화를 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며 임상시험 자료 표준에 관한 정책수립에도 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

통신부문 표준품셈 환경개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Environmental Improvement for the enacting Standard of Construction Estimate in Communication Field)

  • This paper suggests an environmental improvement scheme for the enactment and revision process of the standard of construction estimation in communication field. The first subject is a simplification of process on the enactment and revision. It can be achieved by transfer the function to the professional board from the subordinate council. The second process is an adoption of tentative step on enactment and revision. And the last subject is creation of maintenance part. All the improvement shall be carried on in long term schedule and on the sufficient financial support from government.

적층식 제조(Additive manufacturing) 기술동향 (Technology Trend of the additive Manufacturing (AM))

  • A three-dimensional physical part can be fabricated from a three-dimensional digital model in a layer-wise manner via additive manufacturing (AM) technology, which is different from the conventional subtractive manufacturing technology. Numerous studies have been conducted to take advantage of the AM opportunities to penetrate bespoke custom product markets, functional engineering part markets, volatile low-volume markets, and spare part markets. Nevertheless, materials issues, machines issues, product issues, and qualification/certification issues still prevent the AM technology from being extensively adopted in industries. The present study briefly reviews the standard classification, technological structures, industrial applications, technological advances, and qualification/certification activities of the AM technology. The economics, productivity, quality, and reliability of the AM technology should be further improved to pass through the technology adoption lifecycle of innovation technology. The AM technology is continuously evolving through the introduction of PM materials, hybridization of AM and conventional manufacturing technologies, adoption of process diagnostics and control systems, and enhanced standardization of the whole lifecycle qualification and certification methodology.

Lean Adoption in Third Party Logistics Industry to Achieve Efficient Logistics Activities

  • Purpose: This study focuses on lean implementation evaluation in Third Party Logistics (TPL) industry by using the lean principles measurement from Toyota Ways which consist of 14 principles. The core goal of this study is to appraise the lean implementation level in Third Party Logistics in East Java of Indonesia in order to achieve efficient logistics, distribution and transportation activities. Research design, data and methodology: This study uses a sample of 80 respondent who are Third Party Logistics managers in East Java Province, Indonesia. Data collection uses a questionnaire and standard statistical test was performed in order to analyze questionnaire. Results: The implementation level of lean management in Third Party Logistics shows that application of principle 3 (utilizing pull systems) has a higher score than the other principles. This situation shows that management give the best performance in plan process. They prioritize customer requirement in every process designed. However, the principle 8 (using reliable technology) show the weakness performance. Conclusions: Overall, this study shows the Third Party Logistics in East Java Province of Indonesia have applied the lean principle quite well, although the scores are only slightly above the average. This condition provides a strong basis for further lean implementation, especially for improving logistics, distribution and transportation activities in Third Party Logistics Business.

A Survey-based Analysis of Agile Adoption on Performances of IT Organizations

  • Numerous IT organizations and companies around the world aspire to improve the efficiency and general standard of their software development. The IT organizations want to seize the opportunities and take advantages of new development processes and methodologies. These advantages include higher customers' satisfaction and better software quality among many. In order to achieve them, different agile software methodologies such as scrum, Feature driven development, eXtremeProgramming (XP), Dynamic system development method, Kanban and others have been frequently adopted by IT organizations across the world. Several studies have shown that agile software development methods are effective in a lot of settings. This study, in which 40 agile practitioners from Malaysia participated, additionally confirms the effectiveness of agile development methods. Furthermore, this paper presents some of the critical barriers not well-known by IT-organizations. The results of this analysis can be used to guide IT organization from the obstacles they may face while adopting agile in their environments.

대학기록관에서의 기록경영시스템 표준 도입에 관한 연구 - ISO 30301을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Application of the Management System for Records Standard on University Archives: Based on ISO 30301)

  • 본 연구에서는 법에서 명시하고 있는 대학기록관의 존속성을 보장하고, 이에 적합한 기록표준을 제시하기 위해 대학기록관에서의 기록경영시스템 표준 도입 가능성을 살피고자 하였다. 기록경영시스템 표준인 ISO 30301의 내용을 분석한 후, 이를 바탕으로 대학기록관이 ISO 30301에서 제시하는 기록경영시스템 구성요소와 요구사항을 어느 정도 갖추고 있는가를 확인하기 위해 전국의 57개 대학기록관을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문분석 결과와 전문가 인터뷰를 통해 현재 대학기록관의 현황을 분석하고, 이를 통해 현재 대학기록관에서 기록경영시스템 표준을 도입하기 위해 개선해야 할 8가지 사항을 제안하고, 이를 ISO 30301의 7가지 구성요소에 매핑하였다.

  • As the standards organization under ISO responsible for the development of all international financial services standards, ISO/TC 68 plays a key role in the development and adoption of new technologies in the banking, brokerage and insurance industries. In this paper many of its current work projects are introduced for developing ecommerce standards. We need to discuss the recommendations on XML conversion with ISO and other international standard organizations. Each country try to adopt the international standards even though domestic technical standards and barriers. To solve this problem of interworking between these standards, harmonization activities are nedded. For development and distribution of electronic documents to be conformed to international standards, it is enough to have the role of international activities continue to supply part of the domestic industry and the trends in participation and international standard.Our principal focus is on facilitating national and international trade, through the simplification and harmonization of processes, procedures and information flows, and so contributing to the growth of global commerce.

초기 설계단계 에너지 성능평가를 위한 IFC 기반 IDF 변환기 개발 (Development of the IFC based IDF Converter for Energy Performance Assessment in the Early Design Phase)

  • As the seriousness of environmental pollution being on a rise, a low carbon and environment-friendly design for energy efficiency has been issued. With respect to energy in the construction industry, an adoption of BIM which is possible for the various energy performance assessments in the early design phase has been actively working on. In the most cases of energy performance assessment, the data compatibility from the lack of standard software and format became a problem and the improvement for data compatibility system has been needed. This study is to develop the IFC based IDF converter as a middleware which connects between BIM software and energy analysis software. For the building energy performance assessment, Energy Plus and IFC are selected for the standard energy analysis software and its file format. Parameters are organized by steps and the integrated material library is built so it is trying to reduce the existing problem of energy software interface as much as possible. The development of IDF Converter will promote the spread of related fields with increasing the BIM standard and the utilization of energy performance assessment.
