Quad-Rotor, which consists of four blades, performs a flight task by controling each rotation speed of the four blades. Quad-Rotor blade making no use of cyclic pitch or collective one is a type of fixed-wing as different from helicopter blade. Although, Quad-Rotor is simple and easy to control for those reasons, blade configuration of the fixed wing is one of the critical factors in determining the performance of Quad-Rotor. In the present study, coefficients for thrust and power of Quad-Rotor blade were derived from the data acquired by using 6-component balances. Firstly, Measurements for aerodynamic force were conducted at various pitch angles (i.e., from 0$^{\circ}$ to 90$^{\circ}$ with the interval of 10$^{\circ}$). The blade used in this experiment has aspect ratio of 6 and chord length of 35.5 mm. Secondly, assembled-blade, which was an integral blade but divided into many pieces, was used in order to test aerodynamic forces along twist angles. The curve of thrust coefficient along pitch angle indicates a parabola form. Stall which occurs during wind tunnel test to calculate lift coefficient of airfoil does not generate. When deciding the blade twist angle, structural stability of blade should be considered together with coefficients of thrust and power. Those aerodynamic force data based on experimental study will be provided as a firm basis for the design of brand-new Quad-Rotor blade.
Centrifugal compressors are widely used and each operating condition is different. However, it cannot be manufactured according to the every operating condition. In the this study, performance of compressor was evaluated with various rotational speeds of impeller and various stagger angles of diffuser in order to apply a typical model widely. A centrifugal compressor was designed and manufactured based on the design point. On this machines, an experiment was conducted and the performance was predicted at off-design point. The performance prediction was validated with the experimental result and the numerical result. Although the isentropic efficiency on the prediction was slightly lower than that on the experimental result due to the heat loss in the experiment, the pressure ratio was predicted well and also the predicted results were matched well with the numerical results. When the rotational speed of the impeller and the stagger angle of the diffuser were changed together, the compressor can be worked in the high efficiency region and avoided operating in the stall region.
The purpose of this study establishes the deep neural network (DNN) and Decoder models to predict the flow and thermal fields of three-dimensional wavy wings as a passive flow control. The wide ranges of the wavy geometric parameters of wave amplitude and wave number are considered for the various the angles of attack and the aspect ratios of a wing. The huge dataset for training and test of the deep learning models are generated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The DNN and Decoder models exhibit quantitatively accurate predictions for aerodynamic coefficients and Nusselt numbers, also qualitative pressure, limiting streamlines, and Nusselt number distributions on the surface. Particularly, Decoder model regenerates the important flow features of tiny vortices in the valleys, which makes a delay of the stall. Also, the spiral vortical formation is realized by the Decoder model, which enhances the lift.

Modern version of supersonic jet fighter aircraft must have guaranteed appropriate controllability and stability in HAoA(high angle of attack). Limit value of aircraft entering into the deep stall in HAoA is related to aircraft configuration design. But, In order to guarantee the aircraft's safety in HAoA, control law for HAoA region implemented in digital Fly-By-Wire flight control system of supersonic jet fighter. The AoA limiter is designed for positive HAoA in longitudinal control law. But, aircraft departure during aggressive negative pitch maneuver such as push over in departure resistance flight test. Therefore negative AoA limiter is needed in longitudinal control law. Result of T-50 flight test show that the AoA is exceed the limit value during aggressive positive pitch maneuver in pull up of power approach mode. In this paper, the AoA limit control law in positive and negative AoA was proposed in order to improve aircraft controllability and stability.
In this paper, an 8051 microcontroller with application-specific instructions and I/O ports for data transmission is designed. The designed microcontoller includes two UART ports and one SMBus port to control external devices and to transmit data with them. Application-specific instruction is developed and added to the instruction set to exploit these I/O ports. So the designed microcontroller can perform multi-device control and multi-byte transmission. Also, it can reduce the code size of the application program. Especially, the designed microcontroller does not stall and can execute other programs during data transmission, which significantly increases its efficiency. Synthesized in 0.18 um technology, the area overhead due to application-specific instructions was negligible. Operations of all instructions and I/O ports were verified to run correctly on a FPGA board.

Wind energy is becoming one of the most preferable alternatives to conventional sources of electric power that rely on fossil fuels. For stable electric power generation, constant rotating speed control of a wind turbine is performed through pitch control and stall control of the turbine blades. Recently, variable pitch control has been implemented in modern wind turbines to harvest more energy at variable wind speeds that are even lower than the rated one. Although wind turbine pitch controllers are currently optimized using a step response via the Ziegler-Nichols auto-tuning process, this approach does not satisfy the requirements of variable pitch control. In this study, the variable pitch controller was optimized by a genetic algorithm using a neural network model that was constructed by the Latin Hypercube sampling method to improve the Ziegler-Nichols auto-tuning process. The optimized solution shows that the root mean square error, rise time, and settle time are respectively improved by more than 7.64%, 15.8%, and 15.3% compared with the corresponding initial solutions obtained by the Ziegler-Nichols auto-tuning process.
For this study three types of block such as medicated urea-molasses-mineral block (MUMMB, 7% urea), urea-molasses-mineral blocks ($UMMB_a$ 7% urea) and urea-molasses-mineral blocks ($UMMB_b$ 21% urea) were prepared. Naturally infested 24 indigenous dairy cows with gastrointestinal nematodes were used to study the effect of MUMMB, $UMMB_a$ and $UMMB_b$ on different parameters (body weight, milk yield, serum urea level, milk urea level). The cows were offered normal diet added with 250 g block per cow for every day. Straw and green grasses were used as basal diet in the ration. The managemental facilities for all cows of each group were similar. Cows were stall fed, calves were tied up at night and had free access to their dam during day time. Milking was done once daily in the morning. The daily average live weight gains by MUMMB, $UMMB_a$, $UMMB_b$, and control group (no block) were 52.08 g, 44.44 g, 48.58 g, and 1.41 g respectively. The live weight gain were statistically significant (p<0.01) in comparison to control group. The highest daily milk yield was observed in MUMMB treated cows (2.39 L/d); followed by $UMMB_b$ treated cows (1.82 L/d) and $UMMB_a$ treated cows (2.16 L/d). The lowest milk yield was found in control group (1.54 L/d). This result differs significantly (p<0.05) between treated groups and also with control group. During urea-molasses-mineral blocks $UMMB_a$, $UMMB_b$ licking milk urea level increased from initial $22.76{\pm}2.35mg/dl$ to $35.46{\pm}4.80mg/dl$ and initial $22.86{\pm}2.96mg/dl$ to $40.66{\pm}0.87mg/dl$ respectively. This variation of milk urea level was statistically significant (p<0.001). Similarly during $UMMB_a$, and $UMMB_b$ blocks licking, serum urea level increased in both treated groups from initial $22.76{\pm}2.60mg/dl$ to $32.68{\pm}2.21$ and initial $23.70{\pm}2.78mg/dl$ to $40.48{\pm}3.24mg/dl$, respectively. This variation of serum urea level was also statistically significant (p<0.001). Use of MUMMB instead of UMMB was proved better for milk production and live weight gain in dairy cows under the village condition of Bangladesh where balanced ration for dairy cows are a major scarcity. And various concentration of urea in blocks positively affect milk and serum urea levels of indigenous dairy cows.
The objective of this study was to determine the effects of whole linseed supplementation on performances and milk fatty acid composition of dairy cows. Thirty six Holstein Friesian crossbred lactating dairy cows were blocked by milking days first and then stratified random balanced for milk yields and body weight into three groups of 12 cows each. The control group received 300 g of palm oil. The second group was supplemented with 344 g/d of top-dressed whole linseed plus 150 g of palm oil and the third group was supplemented with 688 g/d of top-dressed whole linseed. All cows also received ad libitum grass silage (Brachiaria ruziziensis), had free access to clean water and were individually housed in a free-stall unit and individually fed according to treatments. Residual feeds were collected on 2 consecutive days weekly and at the end of the experiment. Feed samples were pooled to make representative samples for proximate and detergent analyses. Daily milk yields were recorded. Milk samples were collected on 2 consecutive days weekly. Live weights were recorded at the start and at the end of the experiment. Milk samples were taken on d 56 of the experiment and subjected to milk fatty acid composition. The results showed no statistical significant differences in intakes, live weight change, milk yields and milk compositions, however, C18:1, C18:3 and unsaturated FAs were increased while saturated FAs were reduced by whole linseed supplementation. It is recommended that the addition of 300 g/d oil from whole linseed could be beneficial to lactating dairy cows in early lactation.
A feeding trial was conducted to study the replacement value of concentrates with Barhar (Artocarpus lakocha) leaves on growth performance of kids fed a mixed jungle grass-based diet. Fifteen Sikkim local kids, about 4 months of age and body weight ranging from 5.8 to 9.2 kg, were randomly distributed into three groups of five. Kids were stall fed ad lib with mixed jungle grass collected from the nearby forest and native scrubland. The kids in group I received supplementary concentrate (Maize 35%, mustard cake 32%, rice bran 30%, mineral mixture 2% and common salt 1%) at approximately 2% of BW. For groups II and III, 25 and 50% of the concentrate was replaced with Barhar (Artocarpus lakocha) leaves, respectively. Total dry matter intake (DMI) was not significantly different among groups. Digestibility of CP decreased (p<0.05) and that of NDF increased (p<0.01) with increasing level of Barhar leaves in the diet. Digestibility of ADF (p<0.01), hemi cellulose (p<0.05) and cellulose (p<0.01) was higher in groups II and III than in group I. Ruminal pH and TVFA concentration were not significantly different among groups. Rumen ammonia-N concentration decreased (p<0.01) with increased level of Barhar leaves in the diet. Similarly, plasma urea nitrogen and blood glucose levels were reduced (p<0.05) with increasing level of Barhar leaves in the diet. Replacement of concentrate with Barhar resulted in reduced Hb and lower serum iron concentration. Levels of other serum metabolites including minerals were not altered by the replacement. Average daily gain (ADG) was 53.3, 54.4 and 41.8 g/d in groups I, II and III, respectively. ADG was not adversely affected when the level of replacement was restricted to 25%. However, at 50% of replacement ADG was significantly lower than the control (p<0.05). Thus, it was concluded that Barhar leaves might replace 25% of the supplemental concentrate for growing Sikkim local kids fed on a mixed jungle grass-based diet.

Objective: The preference evaluation of cattle is an important factor for estimation and improvement of the grazing amounts of newly introduced or bred grasses or cultivars in barn. This study was performed to assess the grazing behavior (the amount of grazing and/or the grazing speed) of cattle as indirect method using newly bred Brachiaria ruziziensis tetraploid strain 'OKI-1'(BR) hay as treatment group and Cloris gayana 'Callide' (CG) hay as control group. It also compared the feasibility of using behavioral differences between two groups as one criteria for evaluating preference by Japanese black cattle in barn. Methods: Three experiments were carried out using 12 growing Japanese Black cattle including 6 males and 6 females. In each experiment, the four Japanese Black cattle (2 males and 2 females) were placed in separated stall and allowed to graze BR and CG in manger that was separated into two portions for about 30 min. The position and behavior of the cattle were recorded, and weighed the residual of each gay at 15 and 30 minutes after experiment start. Results: The BR was superior to CG in chemical composition such as protein, fibers and non-fibrous carbohydrate. The cattle, over all, tended to prefer BR over CG in the first half 15 minutes in terms of the time spent and amount of grazing. Additionally, growing cattle exhibited neophilia for BR bred newly. Conclusion: These findings indicated the current approach could be applied for one of criteria to evaluate the preference of hay by Japanese black cattle under indoor housing environment.
