평활관 및 열전달촉진관에서 액체질소의 관내 증발열전달 특성에 대한 연구 (Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Liquid Nitrogen in Horizontal Plain Tubes with Wire Coil Inserts)

  • An experiment was performed to study the evaporation heat transfer and the pressure drop characteristics of liquid nitrogen in a horizontal stainless steel tube with wire coil inserts. The inner diameter of test tube is 4.3mm and the length is 1.5m. Four wire coils having different pitch and thickness were inserted into the plain test tube. The wire coil length is 1.5m and the diameter is 3.65mm with thickness of 0.5mm and 0.9mm. Experiments were conducted at saturation temperature of $-191^{\circ}C$ mass flux from 200 to 370 $kg/m^{2}s$ and heat flux of 62 $kW/m^{2}$. Direct heating method was used to apply heat to the test section. Boiling heat transfer coefficients of both the plain and the enhanced tubes were calculated. Pressure drops between inlet and outlet side of test section were also measured, and they are used to estimate EPR(Enhancement Performance Ratio).

장섬유강화 복합재료 구조물의 기계적 접합을 위한 스테인레스 강 인서트 설계 (Design of a Stainless Steel Insert for Mechanical Joining of Long Fiber-reinforced Composite Structures)

  • 장섬유강화 복합재료는 기존의 연속섬유강화 복합재료에 비해 우수한 생산 효율성과 복잡한 형상의 성형성에 대해 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 지나치게 복잡한 복합재료 형상을 제작하거나 서로 다른 재료로 제작된 부품들을 조립/체결해야 하는 경우 다양한 접합 방법들이 필요하다. 일반적으로 LFPS(Long Fiber Prepreg Sheet)는 성형 후 탈형을 쉽게 하기 위해 LFPS안에 이형제가 포함되어 있다. 그러므로 적절한 접합 강도를 위해 접착법과 더불어 기계적인 체결이 요구된다. 본 연구에서 열성형 공정을 통해 LFPS를 경화하고 스테인레스 강 인서트를 접착하는 동시경화 접착을 위한 스테인레스 강 인서트를 제안하였다. 성형공정 동안 펼쳐지는 스테인레스 강 인서트의 날개는 접착력과 기계적인 고정(Mechanical wedging)의 효과를 유발하여 인발력에 저항할 수 있는 갈고리 역할을 한다. 복합재료에 삽입된 인서트 날개들의 펼쳐진 상태를 확인하기 위해 소각 방법을 사용하였다. 그리고 접합 강도를 정량적으로 평가하기 위해 인발시험(Pull-out test)을 수행하였다. 이러한 실험들을 통해 가장 적절한 접합 강도를 보장하는 조건을 도출하였다.

In-Process Evaluation of Surface Characteristics in Machining

  • This paper reported research results to develop an algorithm of on-lin evaluation of surface profiles and roughness generated by turning. The developed module consisted of computer simulation of surface profiles using mechanism of cutting mark formation and cutting vibrations, and online measurement of cutting vibrations. The relative cutting vibrations between tool and worpkiece were measured through an inductance pickup at the rate of one sample per rotation of the workpiece. The sampling process was monitored using an encoder to avoid conceling out the phase lag between waves. The digital cutting signals from the Analog-to-Digital converter were transferred to the simulation module of surface profile where the surface profiles were generated. The developed algorithm or surface generation in a hard turning was analyzed through computer simulations to consider the stochastic and dynamic nature of cutting process. Cutting tests were performed using AISI 304 Stainless Steel and carbide inserts in practical range of cutting conditions. Experimental results showed good correlation between the surface profiles and roughness obtained using the developed algorithm and the surface texture measured using a surface profilemeter. The research provided the feasibility to monitor surface characteristics during tribelogical tests considering wear effect on surface texture in machining.
