This paper presents the high efficiency and high power-factor power supply for LED lighting equipment. The proposed power supply is the single-stage power structure consisted of the full-bridge diode rectifier and flyback converter, and thus the power-factor correction and output voltage regulation are performed simultaneously using only one controller IC and one power semiconductor switch. Furthermore, the proposed power supply reduces the voltage stress and switching loss of main switch using the regenerative snubber, and it improves the system efficiency using the synchronous rectifier. The applied synchronous rectifier is the new voltage-driven type and its operation and construction are simple. In this paper, the operation principle of proposed power supply is explained through the operation analyses of its power-factor correction and main power conversion parts and the operation of synchronous rectifier is described, briefly. Also, a design example of the power circuit of 40W-class prototype is shown and the operation characteristics of proposed power supply are validated through the experimental results of the implemented prototype by the designed circuit parameter.
This paper is a study on FEED validation model that can be used in the bidding stage of small utility equipment in offshore plant industry using system engineering technique. Currently, domestic marine plant equipment industry companies are faced with the financial risk of project execution as they enter marine plant. The major cause was the insufficient ability to verify the FEED output from the contractor (Engineering or Procurement and Construction) of the equipment manufacturer (COMPANY or EPC). Therefore, we propose FEED design verification method that simplifies the system engineering method that sequentially applies requirements analysis, function, performance analysis and physical architecture building process. Also, we verified the suitability of the developed model by comparing the results of applying the developed FEED verification model and the verification method that depends on the existing experience for the small utility equipment (Air Compressor).
Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are a key component widely used in the production of electronic products, and not only quantitative growth but also qualitative developments such as integration cannot be ignored. Wave soldering equipment is commonly used equipment at manufacturing sites, but it is impossible to configure a dedicated equipment environment suitable for each PCB specification during the preliminary research and prototype development stage. It is neither suitable for development within limited time line nor manufacturing various product groups because only equipment setting conditions can be changed within a given time. In this study, we introduce a case of introducing a PCB pallet to enable selection of optimal process conditions within the limited environment described above. In addition, by presenting a discriminant that can determine in advance whether production is possible with current general-purpose equipment, it is expected that problems that may arise due to limitations in the general-purpose wave soldering equipment environment can be identified and resolved in advance. Ultimately, this palette makes it possible to shorten the development period and improve productivity.

Wonju Medical Equipment Industry, despite of its short history, poor sales and weak manpower and so on, have shown remarkable outcomes in a relatively short period. At the end of 2007, totally 79 enterprises (only 4.6% of whole enterprises in Korea) made 10% of the nationwide production and 15% of the nationwide exports with an annual average growth rate of 66.7%, contributing domestic medical equipment industry tremendously. In addition, many leading medical equipment enterprises in various fields already moved or plan to move to Wonju, accelerating Wonju Medical Equipment Cluster. Wonju Medical Equipment Industry Cluster now enters into the growth stage, getting out of the initial business setup stage. Especially, the nomination of Wonju cluster project from the government accelerates networking (e.g. the development of the universal parts, the establishment of the mutual collaboration model among enterprises, and the mutual marketing), making a rapid growth in Wonju Medical Equipment Industry. Wonju Medical Equipment Industry Cluster revealed positive outcomes despite of the weakness in investment size and infra-structure comparing with the other medical industry cluster in the advanced country, while many domestic enterprises pursued their own growth models and thus failed to promote the international competitive power. Wonju Medical Equipment Industry has been developed rapidly. However, there are many challenging problems to support enterprises: small R&D investment and thus weak technology power, difficulties in recruiting R&D engineers, and poor marketing capabilities, financial infrastructure & policies, and network architecture. In order to develop a world-competitive medical equipment industry cluster at Wonju, the complement of infrastructures, the technology innovation, the mutual marketing, and the network expansion to support enterprises are further required. Wonju' s experiences in developing medical equipment industry so far suggest that our own flexible cluster model considering the industry structure and maturity for different regions should be developed, and specific action plans from the local and central governments based on their systematic strategies for industry development should be implemented in order to build world-competitive industry clusters in Korea.
The Computer-assisted Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point(HACCP) program has been developed for a systematic implementation of HACCP principles in identifying, assessing and controlling hazards in institutional foodservics operations. The HACCP-based sanitation evaluation tool has been developed, based on the results of the computerized assisted HACCP program in 4 service sites of C contracted foodservice company, including 2 general hospitals with 650-beds, one office operation of 400 meals per day, and one factory foodservice of 1,000 meals per day. All database files and processing programs were created by using Unify Vision tool with Windows 95 of user environments. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. This program consists of the pre-stage for HACCP study and the implementation stage of the HACCP system. 1) The pre-stage for HACCP study includes the selection of menu items, the development of the HACCP recipe, the construction of product flow diagrams, and printing the HACCP recipes and product flow diagrams. 2) The implementation of the HACCP system includes the identification of microbiological hazards, the determination of critical control points based on the decision tree base files. 3) The HACCP-based sanitation evaluation tool consisted of 3 dimensions of time-temperature relationship, personal hygiene, and equipment-facility sanitation. The Cronbach's alphas calculation indicated that the tool was reliable. The results showed that the focus groups rated the mean of importance in time-temperature relationship, personal hygiene, and equipment-facility sanitation as 4.57, 4.59 and 4.55 respectively. Based on the results, this HACCP-based sanitation evaluation tool was considered as an effective tool for assuring product quality. This program will assist foodservice managers to encourage a standardized approach in the HACCP study and to maintain a systematic approach for ensuring that the HACCP principles are applied correctly.

This paper proposes a single-power-stage high frequency resonant AC-DC converter with high power factor using ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching), and integrates a conventional converter with two stage into single stage converter. Input power factor is possible to be improved as a high power factor because inductor for power factor correction(PFC) is connected in input and converter is operated in discontinued current mode(DCM) with constant duty cycle and variable switching frequency. The conventional converter with two stage need to add a switch in order to control a power factor, but single stage converter have a advantage that system is simple and cost is down, confidence is improved, etc. This paper described a operation principle and characteristic analysis for single stage AC-DC converter with high power factor and have evaluated characteristic values by using normalized parameter. We make a experimental equipment using MOSFET as a switching device on the basis of characteristic values obtained from characteristic evaluations and we conform a rightfulness of theoretical analysis by comparing theoretical waveforms and experimental waveforms.
The collisions at sea among marine casualties are not reduced as the tonnage and speed of ship's increase as well as the traffic quantity increase at sea, in spite of the improvement of nautical equipment, enforcement of crew's education and training as well as improvement of quality standard according to the implementation of ISM code. The measures to prevent the collisions at sea are simple, and are composed of six stage.: The first stage is that the officer on duty detect the target from his eye or radar information. The second stage is determining the type and kind of target-ship. The third stage is target tracking; calculation of target speed, course, CPA and TCPA from radar information or visual check. The fourth stage is determination of vessel in danger after calculation of third stage. The fifth stage is the judgement of situation if own ship is stand-on or give way vessel according to the 1972 COLREG. The last stage is to carry out proper action according to 1972 COLREG, under the circumstances. But by the case, the situations are so different under the different external conditions; for example, natural/navigational conditions, crew's human factors, ship's particular, rule or regulation, management system on board, the condition of watch keeping. Therefore the reasons and casualties are so complicated. This study aims to investigate the collision casualty at sea which needs to clarity all these causal factors of afore-mentioned, and to analyze the causes of problems so as to utilize them to establish the measures of preventing marine accidents. This study, described the concepts of causal factors into three groups; environmental factor, and company/on board management system and navigator's act. Also described how to investigate and analyzes the casual factors. Even though it was described in this paper how to detect the causal factors and reasons of collisions, and how to analyze the inter-relation of each causal factors, it is necessary to do further study how to analyze between the liability of concerned parties and the casual factors involved.
In this paper, we designed a multimodal bio-signal measurement system to observe changes in the brain nervous system and vascular system during sleep. Changes in the nervous system and the cerebral blood flow system in the brain during sleep induce a unique correlation between the changes in the nervous system and the blood flow system. Therefore, it is necessary to simultaneously observe changes in the brain nervous system and changes in the blood flow system to observe the sleep state. To measure the change of the nervous system, EEG, EOG and EMG signal used for the sleep stage analysis were designed. We designed a system for measuring cerebral blood flow changes using functional near-infrared spectroscopy. Among the various imaging methods to measure blood flow and metabolism, it is easy to measure simultaneously with EEG signal and it can be easily designed for miniaturization of equipment. The sleep stage was analyzed by the measured data, and the change of the cerebral blood flow was confirmed by the change of the sleep stage.

This paper introduces modal test of the 2nd stage structure of KSLV-I which is composed to satellite, PLA(Payload Adapter), EB(Equipment Bay), KMS(Kick Motor Support) and KM(Kick Motor) without PLF(Payload Fairing). In this test, to simulate free-free boundary condition, test object was hung by 4 bungee cords and excited by using impact hammer. From this test, dynamic properties of the 2nd stage structure of KSLV-I can be obtained. Modal test data are analyzed by using TDAS(Test Data Analysis Software). As the result, modal parameters and mode shapes below 100Hz of the 2nd stage of KSLV-I were identified.

The precision stage using a novel contact-free planar actuator based on magnetic farces, magnetized force and Lorentz farce, is suggested. In the promising magnetic structure, the mover is driven directly without any transmission mechanism, and doesn't need any auxiliary driver for its posture calibration. Then it is estimated that the proposed operating principle is very suitable for work requiring high accuracy and cleanness, or general-purpose nano-stage. In this paper, we discuss a driving principle of the planar system including the magnetic force generation mechanism, a framework for the force model, governing characteristics of the levitated plate, and a planar motion control of the constructed prototype. And experimental results are given to verify the derived theoretical model and a feasibility of the system.
