New APJCP Impact Factor for 2012 is 1.271 - Time to Make a Major Effort to Break Through the 2.0 Barrier

  • The APJCP Impact Factor for 2012 is 1.271, returning from 0.659 for 2011 (1.240 for 2010 and 1.108 for 2009). For an Asian Pacific journal publishing over 100 papers a month from countries with very varied resources it is heartening and we thank all those who continued to submit papers and cite references in the APJCP through our difficult period. However, we still have very much room for improvement. As Chief Editors it is our shared responsibility to act for the benefit of the cancer control research community who utilize the journal in our region of over four billion people and provide a prestigious forum for publication of research findings which can be freely shared by all. The motivation for the APOCP/APJCP has never been financial profit but a firm financial base is nevertheless essential. Although we have kind support from the Korean National Cancer Center for our Managing Editor and the website, our ability to maintain our Chinese and Thai offices is totally dependent on the processing charges paid by the authors. In order to expand our staff to cope with increased submissions and provide greater assistance in ensuring comprehensive reference coverage and dissemination of findings published in the APJCP to the worldwide research community, a joint decision has been made to increase formatting charges by 50% from July. We ask for author understanding. In addition, we appeal to scientists to positively consider our requests to make their reference lists as comprehensive as possible, including papers from the APJCP where appropriate. The future of the journal and the APOCP is largely in your own hands.

건축설계 프로젝트 팀별 진행의 역할분담에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Role Division in Team Projects of Architectural Design)

  • 본 연구는 건축설계 프로젝트 수행시의 효율적인 팀 구성의 방법을 모색하기 위하여 진행되었다. 이를 위하여, (1) 학생들의 설계스튜디오 프로젝트의 특성, (2) 건축설계 교육과 관련한 교수법 이론, (3) 건축설계 스튜디오의 역할분담과 팀 구성의 방법 등을 연구하였으며, 졸업 후 진로인 건축설계회사의 (1) 팀 구성 방법의 특징, (2) 프로젝트 팀의 유형과 장점, (3) 역할분담의 효율적인 방법 등에 대한 문헌연구를 실시하였다. 학생의 설계스튜디오에서의 팀장과 팀원의 역할은 미리 정해진 기간을 기준으로 교대로 담당하는 것이 프로젝트에 대한 동기유발과 소속감을 유지하는데 역할을 하였으며, 건축설계 회사에서는 선호도보다는 생산성에 우선한 의사결정방식에 따라 (1) 경험, (2) 디자인능력, (3) 프로젝트 일정 등이 우선 고려사항으로 정리되었다. 하지만 회사에 대한 지속적인 동기유발과 소속감을 유지하기 위해서는 팀 구성의 효율적인 방법을 연구하는 것이 요구된다.

종합병원 질향상 사업 담당자의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 관한 연구 (Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Quality Improvement Coordinators in General Hospitals)

  • This study was planned to provide basic data for activating quality improvement by genera hospital with more than 400 beds across the country, of which 65 coordinators answered. Main results of the study are as follows.. 1. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment by individual characteristics were compared. It was revealed that the sense of self-efficacy was related to job satisfaction positively. But job satisfaction and organizational commitment by locus of control showed no significant difference. 2. In terms of the characteristics of QI activities, the active participation of QI coordinators in QI planning process and smooth communication among hospital staffs were showed positive relationship to job satisfaction significantly. 3. Also support system was proposed as most significant variable related to the job satisfaction and the organizational commitment of QI coordinators. Especially support to QI activities by CEO's, seniors, and other hospital staff was a factor to enhance the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of QI coordinators. 4. In the aspect of organizational culture, culture which were tendency to be recognized high autonomy in their work and organizational identity strongly and to operate reasonable compensation system were related to job satisfaction and organizational commitment positively. The more formalized climate, supportive communication, cooperative teamwork and promoting creative/risk take behavior, it showed the higher organizational commitment. 5. For the aspect of QI job characteristics, QI coordinators' job satisfaction was high when QI office was arranged for independent department which was exclusively in charge of QI activities and their role is exclusively in charge of QI. It can be concluded that organizational support in the aspect of relation and finance and efforts of encouraging their motivation and providing on the job training program are need.

Testing the Andrews Framework of Strategy Formulation and Implementation: Case Study of the University of Cape Coast Digital Library in Ghana

  • This paper investigates how strategy formulation and implementation processes used by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in building its digital collections compare with the Andrew's strategic formulation and implementation theoretical framework. Theory-testing case study methodology was used. The data collection instruments were the key informant interview technique and document reviews. During the formulation phase, two aspects (resources and aspirations of senior management) were emergent. During the implementation phase, five aspects (achieving results, processes and behaviour, standards, motivation, personal) were emergent. All other elements of building the UCC digital collections were planned during both the formulation and implementation phases. Although the emphasis on students and learning is laudable and apt, there seems to be lack of focus on research support beyond digital collection building, despite the fact that research excellence is one of the UCC's key priorities. Opportunities exist for improving feedback mechanisms between the users, digital library staff and the university management; and inclusion of social media tools in the digital library project. Since only the experience of a single institution of higher learning is considered, it cannot be definitively stated that strategy formulation and implementation will be similar in every institutional context. However, the results provide a basis for academic digital libraries to draw lessons from this case. In African public universities, there is little earlier research on strategy formulation and implementation in digital library management. Strategy formulation and implementation is a critical issue for higher education academic libraries especially in developing countries like Ghana, due to limited financial resources and the rapid change in the information environment during the last several decades.

고등학생의 영양 관련 문제점 분석 및 영양 교육 프로그램 개발 ( II ) - 고등학생 대상 영양 교육 프로그램 개발 - (Problems Analysis Related to Nutrition and the Development of Nutrition Education Programs for High School Students(II) - A Study Centered on the Development of Nutrition Education Programs for High School Students -)

  • Previously, we analyzed for nutrition knowledge and the use of nutrition knowledge in the everyday lives of students in order to develop nutrition education programs that focus on desirable behavior change. From this, we found that female students desired to participate in nutrition education more than male students, and regarding their concerns for nutrition education, 73.2% of the females and 50.0% of the males displayed interest in 'obesity and the regulation of body weight'. Therefore, this study showed female students give more attention to the obesity and the regulation of body weight than male students(p=.000<.001). In addition, female students had higher interests($8.63{\pm}1.67$) than male students ($7.45{\pm}2.03$) in nutrition knowledge(p=.000<.001). By investigating the use of nutrition knowledge in everyday life, our research indicated that the actual use of nutrition knowledge was less. To encourage students to persue dietary lives addressing the concerns confirmed above, the following needed to occur. 1) Provide them nutrition information for the main processed foodstuffs encountered when dining out(breads, cakes, cookies, and carbonated beverage). 2) Teach them to read food nutrition labels. 3) Help them find a lifestyle connection through lasting self-management methods and the generation of social support. Accordingly, this required developing effective and practical nutrition education programs that considered regional characteristics and gender differences. The most important factors considered during nutrition education program development were the need for motivation and ongoing education by stage of change, rather than temporal education through specific problem analysis, in order that those being educated may bring about a change of behavior by themselves. Therefore, from this study, we have suggested the use of multilateral operating strategies for successful nutrition education. In addition the phase model of behavior change should be applied. Our programs were aimed at self owned nutritional management so that students could master their own methods for acquiring skills and enjoying dietary life. The research may be summed up as follows. First, the purpose of education at the recognition stage of change was to attempt motivation for nutrition improvement, by analyzing the problems such as food buying habit and the main purchasing viewpoints when dining out. Second, the purpose of education at the action stage of change was to help students acquire of concrete methods for behavior modification by linking the program to their home as well as to teachers with various activities that suited the situation at school. This was done by analyzing the processes and decisions pertaining to dining out the main processed foodstuffs and principal components, etc. through data and experimental practice. Third, the purpose of education for changing of habits and values, or the maintenance stage, was to investigate the various reasons that undesirable behaviors were induced, and then determine a lasting self-management method as well as how to generate social support. If the nutrition education program developed in this study is utilized on site, someone in the primary role as the nutrition educator and trained specifically in nutrition, can help induce the health promotion in the community as well as lasting dietary management, by executing a link with families in parallel with educating teaching staff and students' parents. In addition, this program can playa role in the government policies related to the health promotion for our youth who are the foundation of our nation and who can enhance our national competitive power.

철도건설사업의 6시그마의 효율적 적용방안 (Efficient Application Way of Six Sigma at Railway Construction Project)

  • 건설업계에서는 경영효율화를 위해서 지난 2000년도부터 6시그마 방법론을 도입하여 적용하였으나 건설사업의 특수성 때문에 6시그마 적용이 사례가 많지 않다. 특히 철도건설사업은 일반적인 건설사업의 특성 외에도 다양한 공종의 집합체로 이루어진 복합공종의 건설사업이라는 특수성을 띄고 있어 적용사례는 더욱 드물다. 국내 철도건설 및 시설관리업무를 담당하는 K-공단은 2004년부터 6시그마를 도입하여 경영전반에 적용하고 있다. 지난 수년 동안 6시그마를 추진한 결과 개선안에 대한 CTQ 목표 달성도가 낮아 원인분석을 통해 합리적인 적용방안을 제시하고자 본 연구를 시작하였다. 선행 연구에 따르면 개선안 실행에 대한 CTQ 목표 달성에 성공한 프로젝트는 약 41%라고 분석되었다(성공기준:CTQ달성도 0.5이상). 본 연구에서는 2004년부터 2009년까지 수행한 프로젝트를 중심으로 개선안 실행에 따른 CTQ달성도를 분석하고 실행한 담당자에 대한 설문 및 인터뷰를 통해 실패한 요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 분석결과 CTQ달성에 영향을 주는 요인으로 1)과제추진 시의 과제수준(업무범위에 따라 BIg Y, Small y), 2)마스터 스폰서 및 스폰서가 과제 및 과제 담당자에 대한 강한 리더십 3)개선안 실행에 대한 지속적인 모니터링과 피드백 등이 파악되었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 1)과제 종류에 대한 재 정의의 필요성의 제시하였다. 챔피언 과제, BB과제, QW과제로 분류되는 기준을 재정립할 필요가 있다. 2)CTQ Tree를 이용하여 Big Y로부터 small y를, small y로부터 단위과제를 도출하여 실행과제로 추진하도록 하였으며, 3) 마스터 스폰서, 스폰서의 리더십을 위해 성과관리에서 강한 incentive 제공 등 동기부여를 하도록 하였다. 4)스폰서 및 담당직원의 모니터링을 위해 해당 시스템에 모니터링 기능을 강화하고 지속적인 학습을 제공을 합리적 적용을 위한 방안으로 제시하였다.

건강검진 수검자의 동선 효율화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficient Flow of Health Examinees)

  • 본 연구는 시뮬레이션 모델을 기반으로 일개 건강검진기관의 수검자 동선을 최적화하여 기관 운영의 효율성을 높이 고자 수행되었다. 2가지의 시나리오를 설정하여 시뮬레이션 분석을 수행하셨으며 수검자의 전체 체류 시간, 직원 활용도, 검사실 가동률 지표를 비교하여 시나리오에 따른 수검자 동선 개선의 효과성을 평가하였다. 시뮬레이션 분석 결과, 각 수검자 동선 시나리오에 따른 평가지표들의 결과 값이 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 본래 최적의 수검자 동선 안을 제시하는 것이 연구의 목적이었으나, 효율적인 병원 운영 관리를 위한 시뮬레이션의 활용은 방법론으로서 그 의미가 있다. 왜냐하면 과거 경험, 감정, 직관에 의존하는 기존의 보건의료 관리 기법과 달리 시뮬레이션은 효율적인 의사 결정을 지원하는 강력한 기법이기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제시한 연구 모델은 보건 의료시스템 상에 다양한 활용이 가능할 것으로 보인다.

우리나라 사회봉사명령제도의 효과적 도입, 운영 및 정착에 관한 연구 (A Study on Community Service Order : It's Effective Introduction, Operation, and Establishment in Korea)

  • 사회봉사명령은 우리나라 보호관찰프로그램 가운데 가장 큰 몫을 담당하고 있는 만큼 사회적 기대 또한 매우 높다. 그러나 일반적인 자원봉사활동과 혼동될 정도로 그 프로그램 운영에 문제가 제기되고 있기 때문에 이 연구에서는 사회봉사명령 프로그램의 '교정'효과를 극대화시킬 수 있는 효과적인 운영 및 정착방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 위해서 미국 미네소타주 교정국에서 지난 15년간 실시해 오고 있으며 매우 성공적으로 평가되고 있는 'Sentencing to Service' 프로그램을 방문하여 관련 행정, 실무책임자, 사회봉사그룹책임자, 사회봉사대상자들과의 면접 및 설문조사를 실시하였다. 표집방법으로는 체계적 표집(systematic sampling)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 사회봉사명령 프로그램은 그 교정효과 면에서 매우 고무적으로 나타났으며, 이를 위해서는 사회봉사대상자들의 자발적 참여동기를 극대화하고 지역사회로부터 적극적인 협조가 필수적이다. 특히 사회봉사그룹책임자의 자질이 매우 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 사회봉사명령의 관련자들을 위한 지침사항(guidelines)이 필요하다는 것과, 사회봉사그룹 책임자를 위한 교육 및 훈련이 중요하고 요구되는 자격요건으로 보아 사회복지사가 사회봉사그룹책임자로 채용된다면 프로그램의 효과를 극대화시킬 수 있다는 것, 정부가 사회봉사를 위탁받은 기관에 일정한 재정을 지원하는 것은 합리적이고 당연하다는 것, 마지막으로 사회봉사명령 프로그램이 구금형 대신에 부과됨으로써 법망의 확대(widening the net)효과를 초래하지 말아야 한다는 시사점이 있음을 발견할 수 있다.

간호학사 편입학과정(RN-BSN)생들의 특성 및 교육만족도 조사 (A Study on RN Students′ Education Satisfaction Toward RN-to-BSN Programs)

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the general characteristics of students, which include the degree of satisfaction, motives of admission, the recognition of advantages and disadvantages, opinion of students on self-directed learning, and planning and anticipatory effects after graduation. Data was collected through a questionnaire survey over a period of four months, from May 1997 to August 1997. The subjects used for this study consisted of 322 RN students sampled from six RN-to-BSN programs in Korea using the census sampling method. Statistical methods employed for this study included discriptive statistics, M ANOVA, and F-test. The results of the study are as follows 1. The RN students' motives of admission to RN-to-BSN programs were ‘for personal advancement’, ‘to earn a BSN degree’, and ‘for professional development’ in this order. 2. The RN students' responses to the advantages of RN-to-BSN programs were ‘acquisition of new knowledge and a BSN degree’ and ‘to gain professional thinking and a broader view’, while as the disadvantages of RN-to-BSN programs were ‘geographical isolation of institutions’, ‘limitation of information’, and ‘underdeveloped school environments’ in this order. 3. The survey based on opinions toward self-directed learning showed that there was a need of detailed guidelines for self-directed learning. Most agreed that it was a very effective learning method for a RN student, and the self-directed learning method Increases motives for learning. 4. The students' anticipatory effect after graduation were ‘self-achievement’, ‘development of professional skills’, and ‘admission to post-graduate school or programs to study abroad’. 5. The students were very satisfied with the quality of faculty members, and satisfied with the quality of lectures and teaching. However, students were unsatisfied with rented lecture rooms, and very unsatisfied with self-directed learning methods. 6. School nurses showed higher statistical significances in the need for teaching material and anticipatory effect after graduation than other RN students working in hospitals and public health agencies. Also, school nurses, public health nurses, and industry nurses showed higher statistical significances in motives of admission than RN students working in hospitals. Further more, staff nurses, school nurses, and industry nurses showed higher levels of satisfaction toward a RN-to-BSN programs than nurses in higher positions, such as administrators or directors of nursing. 7 City residents were more satisfied with RN-to-BSN programs than rural residents. Otherwise, the rural residents had higher motives for admission, a bigger need for teaching materials, and recognition of the disadvantages of RN-to-BSN programs than city residents. Finally, RN students who earned below a monthly income of ₩1,000,000 showed higher motivation for admission than those who earned more than ₩1,000,000.

일 대학병원 외래환자의 적정진료에 대한 환자경험평가 연구 (A Study on Patient Experience Assessment of Appropriate Outpatient Medical Services of a University Hospital)

  • 본 연구는 일개 종합병원을 이용한 외래환자들을 대상으로 환자경험평가를 시행하여 외래진료의 전반적인 과정에 있어 환자가 경험한 의료서비스를 확인하고, 환자경험 및 인식에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인을 분석하고자 하였다. 조사대상은 2018년 5월 14일부터 5월 28일까지 일개 대학병원에서 외래진료 경험이 2회 이상 있는 환자 100명을 조사대상으로 선정하였다. 조사결과 성별로는 여자가 60.0%, 남자가 40.0%로 여자가 더 많은 분포를 보였고 연령별로는 60세 이상이 53.0%, 59세 이하가 47.0%로 60세 이상 그룹이 59세 이하 그룹보다 더 많은 분포를 보였으며, 병원을 이용하게 된 동기는 "병원이 가까이 있어서"가 42.0%로 가장 많은 분포를 보였으며, "의료진의 실력이 좋아서" 36.0%, "타 병원에서 권유받아서" 7.0% 순이었고 "주위사람 소개로"가 1.0%로 가장 적은 분포를 보였다. 이상의 연구결과, 환자 중심의 의료서비스를 제공하기 위한 문제점 파악과 환자의 요구에 부응하는 의료서비스 및 차별화된 의료서비스 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
