  • Radiation-induced oscillatory instability in diffusion flames is numerically investigated with nonlinear dynamics considered. As the simplest flame model, a diffusion flame established in the stagnant mixing layer is employed with optically thin gas-phase radiation and unity Lewis numbers for all species. Attention is focused on the radiation-induced extinction regime, which occurs at large $Damk\ddot{o}hler$ number. Once the steady flame structure is obtained for a prescribed value of the initial $Damk\ddot{o}hler$ number, transient solution of the flame is calculated after a finite amount of the $Damk\ddot{o}hler$-number perturbation is imposed on the steady flame. Transient evolution of the flame exhibits three types of flame-evolution behaviors, namely decaying oscillatory solution, diverging solution to extinction and stable limit-cycle solution. A dynamic extinction boundary is identified for laminar flamelet library.

  • Currently, a gas fueled diffusion flame is used for the relay torch system. It could be burned cleanly but should be stable at severe weather condition such as rain of up to 55 mm/h, winds of up to 70 km/h and also produce a highly bright yellow visible flame. This paper presents torch diffusion flame characteristics on the various wind speeds and rainfall conditions. From the results, flame lengths are controlled by the momentum flux ratio of fuel and ambient air flow and flame stability is much influenced by the mixing characteristics with air flow. Flame is fluctuated above than 200 mm/h rainfall and blow out is occurred about 300 mm/h rainfall condition.

  • The interfacial diffusion in Fe/Cr/MgO(001) multilayers has been studied using synchrotron x-ray techniques, such as x-ray reflectivity, extended x-ray absorption fine structures (EXAFS), and anomalous x-ray scattering (AXS). The results of x-ray reflectivity indicated that the interfacial roughness of Fe/Cr multilayers with Cr-$4{\AA}$-thick was larger than that with Cr-$4{\AA}$-thick. The results of EXAFS indicated that the Fe element dominantly diffuse into the stable Cr layers at the Fe/Cr interface. The AXS was certified the existence of the interdiffused Fe element in the Cr layers. Our study revealed that the rough interface of the Fe/Cr multilayers was caused by the interfacia diffusion of Fe element into the Cr layers.

  • The main concern of this paper is to study the dynamics of an n-dimensional ratio-dependent predator-prey system with diffusion. We study the dissipativeness, persistence of the system and it is shown that the unique positive constant steady state is globally asymptotically stable under some assumptions.

  • In this paper we formulate a predator-prey system in two patches in which the per capita migration rate of each species is influenced only by its own density, i.e. there is no response to the density of the other one. Numerical studies show that at a critical value of the bifurcation parameter the system undergoes a Turing bifurcation, i. e. the stable constant steady state loses its stability and spatially non-constant stationary solutions, a pattern emerge.

  • A nonlinear analysis is presented for the treatment of fluctuations near the critical point in the presence of diffusion in the Schlogl models. The two time scaling method is used to obtain an evolution equation for the amplitude of fluctuations. It is shown that the fluctuations decay to zero in the stable region and they are enhanced to a finite value as time goes to infinity in the unstable region.

  • Waste Thermal Pyrolysis Melting process was proposed and has been studied in order to prevent air pollution by dioxin and fly ash generated from combustion process for disposal of waste. In this study, applicability as the fuel of diffusion burner of synthesis gas formed from Waste Thermal Pyrolysis process was addressed. Results showed that there is no big difference in the flame shape between MNDF and SNDF, and lift off was detected in MIDF but flame is more stable in SIDF which contains hydrogen with high combustion velocity as flow rate in first nozzle is increased. And radiation heat flux in inverse diffusion flame of synthesis gas was found to be more by 1.5 times than that in inverse diffusion flame of methane because of higher mole fraction of $CO_2$ with high emissivity in product gas.

  • In fusion environments, large scales of helium (He) atoms are produced by a radical transformation along with structural damage in structural materials, resulting in material swelling and degradation of physical properties. To understand its irradiation effects, this paper investigates the stability, electronic structure, energetics, charge density distribution, PDOS and TDOS, and diffusion processes of He impurities in 6HSiC materials. The formation energy indicates that a stable, favorable position for interstitial He is the HR site with the lowest energy of 2.40 eV. In terms of vacancy, the He atom initially prefers to substitute at pre-existing Si vacancy than C vacancy due to lower substitution energy. The minimum energy paths (MEPs) with migration energy barriers are also calculated for He impurity by interstitial and vacancy-mediated diffusion. Based on its calculated energy barriers, the most possible diffusion path includes the exchange of interstitial and vacancy sites with effective migration energies ranging from 0.101 eV to 1.0 eV. Our calculation provides a better understanding of the stabilization and diffusion behaviors of He impurities in 6H-SiC materials.

  • In the construction industry, known for its dynamic and hazardous environments, there exists a crucial demand for effective safety incident prevention. Traditional approaches to monitoring on-site safety, despite their importance, suffer from being laborious and heavily reliant on subjective, paper-based reports, which results in inefficiencies and fragmented data. Additionally, the incorporation of computer vision technologies for automated safety monitoring encounters a significant obstacle due to the lack of suitable training datasets. This challenge is due to the rare availability of safety accident images or videos and concerns over security and privacy violations. Consequently, this paper explores an innovative method to address the shortage of safety-related datasets in the construction sector by employing generative artificial intelligence (AI), specifically focusing on the Stable Diffusion model. Utilizing real-world construction accident scenarios, this method aims to generate photorealistic images to enrich training datasets for safety surveillance applications using computer vision. By systematically generating accident prompts, employing static prompts in empirical experiments, and compiling datasets with Stable Diffusion, this research bypasses the constraints of conventional data collection techniques in construction safety. The diversity and realism of the produced images hold considerable promise for tasks such as object detection and action recognition, thus improving safety measures. This study proposes future avenues for broadening scenario coverage, refining the prompt generation process, and merging artificial datasets with machine learning models for superior safety monitoring.
