Biodiesel is one of the most important renewable energy, since it is one of the most important alternative and eco-friendly energy source compared to fossil energy, especially for diesel engineequipped vehicles. It is now coming up for preparation of biodiesel as the alternative that applies the hetrogeneous catalyst, super critical state and various methods used in order to reduce the stages of the processes be converted and separation stages started from oil and fat which are originated from animals and wastes, and those new methods bring eco-friendly as well, though some of those are stand on research step so far. It is necessary that nation provides the tax exemption program for the supplier and strengthen the research system for the farming crops relate to fat and oil. It can improve the development of biodiesel which sustains stability against oxidation and keeps good mobility over the low temperatures in the winter season by new additives and develops new processes to show good harmony with diesel engine.

This study represents the newly advanced formulation of hydraulic fluids for extended drain interval and introduces the performance results of used oil samples from various excavators. The used oil samples, in this paper show that there is a sharp change in viscosity drop and moderate additive depletion when viscosity index of hydraulic oil is very high. For the extension of hydraulic fluid life, it is necessary to improve the stability of viscosity and oxidation. New target properties from the used oil analysis were proposed for extended life. Performance of newly developed hydraulic oil based on used oil analysis is compared with previously used one. The properties of new formulation are the viscosity index of 140 and improved thermal stability consists of VHVI base oil. Field test results showed the possibility of extension of fluid life. Additionally, for development of high performance product, new required properties and performances were discussed.
The O/W microemulsion systems were made from 2 or 4% (w/w) oil (soybean oil, olive oil or isopropyl myristate) and 10, 15 or 20% (w/w) Brij 96. They were compared with micellar solution of equivalent surfactant concentration m therms of physicochemical properties, and the solubilization of sudan IV. They were characterized by dynamic light scattering, stability, surface tension, viscosity and rheogram. The mean diameters of O/W microemulsion systems were 10-15nm, and those of Brij 96 micellar solutions were 18-19 nm. Both of them were monodisperse systems. The O/W microemulsion systems showed Newtonian flow and their apparent viscosities were lower than those of micellar solutions. The surface tensions of O/W microemulsion systems were increased or decreased depending on the types of oil used, when compared with those of micellar solutions. The O/W microemulsion systems were very stable, and did not show any flocculation or aggregation. Their mean diameters were not changed after three months. But oxidation was observed in microemulsions without nitrogen gas at high temperature. There was a significant improvement in the sudan IV solubffimtion in micromulsion compared with that m the micellar solution containing equivalent concentration of surfactant. The size distribution and mean diameters of O/W micromulsions were not changed when sudan IV was solubilized.
Acidolysis of olive oil with omega-3 (n-3) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) was carried out to produce a structured lipid. Novozym $435^{(R)}$ from Candida antarctica was used as the biocatalyst. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine optimum conditions for lipase-catalyzed enrichment of olive oil. Three factors, 5 levels, central composite design was used. The effects of incubation time, temperature, and substrate mole ratio on incorporation ratio (n-3 fatty acids/total fatty acids, %) were investigated. From the evaluation of response surface graphs, the optimal conditions for incorporation of long chain n-3 PUFAs into olive oil were $40-60^{\circ}C$ for temperature, 30-45 hr for reaction time, and 3:1-5:1 (n-3 fatty acids/olive oil) for substrate mole ratio. Experiments conducted under optimized conditions predicted by the model equation obtained from RSM yielded structured lipids with 50.8% n-3 PUFAs. This value agreed well with that predicted by the model. Oxidative stability tests showed that the product was more susceptible to oxidation than unmodified olive oil. Antioxidant addition improved the oxidative stability of the product.

The structure of the scale formed on the surface of Fe - Cr - X alloys exposed to 1143K high sulfidation($Ps_2$ = 1.11$\times$$10^-7$ atm, $Po_2$ = 3.11$\times$$10^-20$ atm) or sulfidation/oxidation(($Ps_2$= 1.06$\times$$10^-7$ atm, ($Po_2$ = 3.11$\times$$10^-18$ atm) environment has been observed and analysed using XRD, SEM/EDS. To investigate the possibility of protective film formed on the surface of the alloys, Aluminium, Nickel were selected as alloying elements. Thermodynamic phase stability diagram was used to predict the reaction path of scale formed on Fe - Cr - X alloys. Parabolic rate constant($K_p$) value with 6wt% Al in Fe - 25Cr alloy decreased significantly compared with the Fe - 25Cr alloy without 6wt% Al. Since thin layer of defect free sulfide film, (Al, Cr)Sx, was formed at the alloy/scale interface. Fe - rich sulfide scale at outer layer and Cr - rich sulfide scale containing porosity at inner layer of Fe - 25Cr alloy have been observed. The reaction path for these scales could be predicted by the thermodynamic stability diagram.
The gene ADH encoding NAD-dependent alcohol dehydrogenase from Bacillus stearothennophilus was cloned and overexpressed as a GST fusion protein at a high level in Escherichia coli. The expressed fusion protein was purified simply by glutathione affinity chromatography. GST fusion protein was then cleaved by thrombin, while soluble enzyme was further purified by glutathione affinity chromatography. The recombinant enzyme had the same elctrophoretic mobility as the native enzyme from Bacillus stearothennophilus. The recombinant enzyme catalyzed the oxidation of a number of alcohols and exhibited high activities towards secondary alcohols. The $K_m\;and\;V_{max}$ values of the recombinant enzyme for ethanol were 5.11 mM and 61.35 U/mg, respectively. Pyridine and imidazole notably inhibited the enzymatic activity. The activity of the recombinant enzyme optimally proceeded at pH 9.0 and $70^{\circ}C$. The midpoint of the temperature-stability curve for the recombinant enzyme was approximately $68^{\circ}C$, and the enzyme was not completely inactivated even at $85^{\circ}C$. The recombinant enzyme showed a high resistance towards denaturing agents (0.05% SDS, 0.1 M urea). Therefore, due to its stability and relatively broad substrate specificity, the recombinant enzyme could be utilized in bio-industrial processes and biosensors.
Baker's yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) was used as a biocatalyst for eco-friendly indigo dyeing and the reducing power of yeast according to the alkaline solution type was compared. NaOH solution, lye, and buffer solution were used as alkaline solutions. The reducing power(K/S value, oxidation/reduction potential(ORP), pH) was monitored according to the elapsed time including the initiation of reduction, peak reduction, and the end of reduction. In all alkaline solutions, it was confirmed that yeast can be used reducing agent in indigo reduction dyeing. The pH stability and reducing power of buffer solution was better than that of NaOH alone. Although, pH and ORP stability of the reduction bath in lye were better than that of buffer solution, K/S value in buffer solution was higher compared to lye. The reducing power was different depending on the starting pH of the dye bath, and it was better when starting at pH 10.70 than at pH 11.30. Fastnesses to washing, rubbing, and light were relatively good with above rating 4. There was no significant difference in colorfastness depending on the type of alkaline solutions.

$TiO_2,\;ZrO_2$, and $SiO_2$ were added in the concentration of 1 - 3 wt.% to improve long-term stability for the $SnO2$ thick film gas sensor. Short-term sensor resistances up to 90 h were measured to investigate the stabilization time of initial resistance in air. Long-term resistance drifts in air and in gas to 5000 ppm methane for the sensors annealed at $750^{\circ}C$ for 1 h and continuously heated at an operating temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ were also measured up to 90 days at an interval of 1 day. The long-term drifts in methane sensitivity for the three metal oxide-doped $SnO2$ sensors are closely related to methane sensitivity level, catalytic activity, and long-term drift in sensor resistance in air. Those stabilities are mainly discussed in terms of oxidation state and catalytic activity.
Tyrosinase has two types of enzymatic activities, cresolase catalyzing the hydroxylation of monophenol and catecholase catalyzing the oxidation of o-phenol. Gradual inactivation of the enzyme during the reaction is a barrier to be overcome for the commercial application of the enzyme. Tyrosinase was stabilized by modifying the lysine residue of the enzyme using glutaraldehyde. In addition to that, tyrosinase was also stabilized by adapting the continuous reactor system. In packed bed reactor quinone could be easily removed, so the stability of tyrosinase increased. Borate buffer retarded the reaction rate of catechol to quinone and consequently decreased the tyroslnase inactivation. Tyrosinase immobilizer on controlled pore glass showed significantly enhanced stability in a packed-bed reactor.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) comprising amorphous CoNbZr layers have been investigated. $Co_{85.5}Nb_8Zr_{6.5}$(in at. %) layers were employed to substitute the traditionally used Ta layers with an emphasis given on under-standing underlayer effect. The typical junction structure was $SiO_2/CoNbZr$ or Ta 2/CoFe 8/IrMn 7.5/CoFe 3/Al 1.6 + oxidation/CoFe 3/CoNbZr or Ta 2 (nm). For both as-deposited state and after annealing, the CoNbZr-underlayered structure showed superior surface smoothness up to the tunnel barrier than Ta-underlayerd one (rms roughness of 0.16 vs. 0.34 nm). CoNbZr-based MTJs was proven beneficial for increasing thermal stability and increasing $V_h$ (the bias voltage where MR ratio becomes half) characteristics than Ta-based MTJs. This is because the CoNbZr-based junctions offer smoother interface structure than the Ta-based one.
