Preparation of Perovskite-Type Oxide (La1-xSrxCo1-yFeyO3-δ) Coating Solution by Sol-Gel Method (Sol-Gel법에 의한 Perovskite-Type Oxide(La1-xSrxCo1-yFeyO3-δ) 코팅용액의 제조)

  • Perovskite-type oxide $La_{1-x}Sr_xCo_{1-y}Fe_yO_{3-{\delta}}$ sols were prepared by sol-gel method using $La(NO_3)_3{\cdot}xH_2O$, $Sr(NO_3)_2$, $Co(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ and $Fe(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_2O$ as starting materials. The properties of the perovskite-type oxide sols were investigated by viscometer, FT-IR, TG-DTA and XRD. The prepared sols showed 1.16 cp in average viscosity, and a strong acidic condition of pH 0.5, irrespective of composition of the starting materials. The viscosity of sols at the same volume decreases, but the gelation time of sols, at which the sol viscosity increases rapidly, increases when increasing La concentration in composition of starting materials.

  • Phase diagrams of electron- and hole-doped $Sr_2VO_3FeAs$ are investigated using Co and Mn substitution at Fe site. Metallic nature survives only for Co (electron) doping, not for Mn (hole) doping. The conductivity of $Sr_2VO_3(Fe,M)As$ (M=Mn,Co) is sensitive to the structural modification of FeAs microstructure rather than carrier doping. This finding implies that the FeAs layer plays a dominant role on the charge conduction, thus the $SrVO_3$ layers should be considered as an insulating block. Also, we found that the superconductivity is rapidly suppressed by both dopants. This result is different from the conventional behavior that superconductivity is induced by doping in the most of Fe pnictides. Our finding strongly supports the uniqueness of $Sr_2VO_3FeAs$ among the Fe pnictide superconductors.

  • We have synthesized an $Eu^{2+}$-activated $Sr_3MgSi_2O_8$ blue phosphor and $Ba_2SiO_4$ green phosphor and $Ba^{2+}$ co-doped $Sr_3SiO_5$ red phosphor investigated an attempt to develop white LEDs by combining it with a GaN blue LED $chip(\lambda_{em}=405 nm)$. Three distinct emission bands from the GaN-based LED and the $(Sr_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu\; +\; Ba_2SiO_4:Eu\; +\; Ba^{2+}\; co-doped\; Sr_3SiO_5:Eu)$ phosphor are clearly observed at 460nm, 520 nm and at around 600 nm, respectively. These three emission bands combine to give a spectrum that appears white to the naked eye. Our results show that GaN (405 nm chip)-based $(Sr_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu\; +\; Ba_2SiO_4:Eu\; +\; Ba^{2+}\; co-doped\; Sr_3SiO_5:Eu) exhibits a better luminous efficiency than that of the industrially available product InGaN (460 nm chip)-based YAG:Ce.

A Study on Fabrication of La0.5Sr0.5CoO3Thin Films as an Electrode for Ferroelectric Memory by Self-patterning Technique (Self-patterning 기술을 이용한 강유전체 메모리 전극용La0.5Sr0.5CoO3박막의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • Self-patterning of thin films using photosensitive sol solution has advantages such as simple manufacturing process compared to photoresist/dry etching process. In this study,$La_{0.5}SR_{0.5}CoO_3$(LSCO) thin films as an electrode material for ferroelectric memories have been prepared by spin coating method using photosensitive sol solution. La-2methoxyethoxide, Sr-ethoxide, Co-2methoxyethoxide were used as starting materials. As UV exposure time to the LSCO gel thin film increased, the UV absorption peak intensity of metal${beta}$-diketonate decreased due to reduced solubility by M(metal)-O-M bond formation. Solubility difference by UV irradiation on LSCO gel thin film allows to obtain a fine patterning of thin film. The LSCO thin films annealed over$680{\circ}C$ in air showed perovskite phase and the lowest resistivity$(4{ imes}10^{-3}{Omega}cm)$ of the thin films were obtained by annealing at$740{\circ}C$.

  • 강유전체 전계효과를 관찰하기 위해 LaCoO$_{3}$/Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_{3}$(La, Sr)CoO$_{3}$ 다층구조를 LcOo$_{3}$가 기판 위에 pulsed laser deposition(PLD)법으로 에피택셜하게 성장시켰다. 이러한 다층구조에서는 전도성 채널층으로 Si대신 반도성 LaCoO$_{3}$가 사용 되었다. LaCoO$_{3}$(LCO)의 비저항은 산소 분위기에 의하여 변화되었는데 특히 증착시 산소 분위기에 의존함을 보였다. LCO의 비저항은 0.1-100Ωcm범위에서 변화되었다. LCO층에 유도되는 강유전체 전계효과는 Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_{3}$(PZT)의 분극 상태에 따른 LCO의 저항 변화를 측정함으로써 관찰되었는데 1020$\AA$ 두께를 가진 LCO층에서는 4%의 저항 변화를 얻었으며 680$\AA$의 LCO에서는 9%의 증가된 저항 변화를 얻었다. DC 바이어스(-5V)를 가한 후에는 저항 변화가 45%까지 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 적당한 비저항을 갖는 LCO를 사용한 LCO/PZT/LSCO다층구조가 강유전체 전계효과 트랜지스터로 사용될 수 있다는 가능성을 제시하고 있다.

  • Perovskite-structured samarium strontium cobaltite (SSC), which is mixed ionic electronic conductor (MIEC), is considered as a promising cathode material for intermediate temperature-operating solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) due to its high electrocatalytic property. Cathode material containing cobalt (Co) is unstable at high temperature and has a relatively high thermal expansion property. In this paper, Sm-Sr-(Co,Fe,Ni)-O system with perovskite and spinel structures was investigated in terms of electrochemical property and thermal expansion property, respectively. Area specific resistance (ASR) was measured by ac impedance spectroscopy to investigate the electrochemical property of cathode, and thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) was measured by using dilatometer. Micro structure of cathode was observed by scanning electron microscopy. Perovskite-structured $Sm_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CoO_{3-\delta}$ showed the ASR of $0.87{\Omega}/cm^{2}$, and $Sm_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}NiO_{3-\delta}$, which actually has a spinel structure, showed the lowest TEC value of $13.3{\times}10^{-6}/K$.

  • The effects of $Li_2CO_3$ addition on the sintering behavior of $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3$ ceramic have been investigated. The amount of $Li_2CO_3$ was varied from 1 wt% to 5 wt%. The crystalline and dielectric properties were investigated through X-ray diffraction and frequency dependent permittivity, respectively.

  • ${Li_2}{CO_3}$ and MgO doped paraelectric ${Ba_{0.5}}{Sr_{0.5}}{TiO_3}$, materials were prepared and compared for LTCC applications. In these days LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics) technology has been widely employed for electronic modules for the communication systems such as front-end modules, antenna modules, and switching modules. In this paper, 1 ${\sim}$ 5 wt % of ${Li_2}{CO_3}$, and 30 wt % of MgO were added to ${Ba_{0.5}}{Sr_{0.5}}{TiO_3}$, respectively. The crystalline properties and electrical properties will be compared and discussed.

  • SrGa$_2$S$_4$ : Eu is a green emitting phosphor which is applied for field emission display, and cathodoluminescence. Conventionally, SrGa$_2$S$_4$ : Eu is synthesized by solid state reaction, in which a mixture of SrCO$_3$, Ga$_2$O$_3$, and Eu$_2$O$_3$ is fired at high temperatures under flowing H$_2$S and Ar gases. In this study,SrGa$_2$S$_4$ : Eu phosphor is synthesized by using a decomposition method, where SrS, Eu complex, and Ga com-plex are used. The advantage of this method is that toxic H$_2$S gas and Ar gas are not used. The synthetic con-ditions and luminescent properties of SrGa$_2$S$_4$ : Eu phosphor are also investigated.

Synthesis of the Nano-sized SrAl2O4 Phosphors by Wet Processing and its Photoluminescence Properties (SrAl2O4계 축광재료의 습식공정에 의한 나노분말 합성 및 발광특성)

  • $Eu^{2+}$ and $Dy^{3+}$ co-doped strontium aluminate, $SrAl_2O_4$ long phosphorescent phoshor was fabricated and its photoluminescence was characterized. The phosphor, $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ was synthesized by a coprecipitation in which metal salts of $Sr(NO_3)_2$, $Al(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_2O$, were dissolved in $(NH_4)_2CO_3$ solution with adding $Eu(NO_3)_3{\cdot}5H_2O$ and $Dy(NO_3)_3{\cdot}5H_2O$ as a activator and co-activator, respectively. The coprecipitated products were separated from solution, washed, and dried in a vacuum dry oven. The dried powders were then mixed with 3 wt% $B_2O_3$ as a flux and heated at $800{\sim}1400^{\circ}C$ for 3 h under the reducing ambient atmosphere of 95%Ar+$5%H_2$ gases. For the synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$, properties of photoluminescence such as emission, excitation and decay time were examined. The emission intensity increased as the annealing temperature increased and showed a maximum peak intensity at 510 nm with a broad band from $400{\sim}650\;nm$. Monitored at 520 nm, the excitation spectrum showed a maximum peak intensity at $315{\sim}320\;nm$ wavelength with a broad band from $200{\sim}500\;nm$ wavelength. The decay time of $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ increased as the annealing temperature increased.
