Hollandite-rich Synroc for Immobilization of Sr/Cs Separated from HLW Liquid

  • Synroc which comprises hollandite-rich ($Ba_{1-x}Cs_{2x}\;(Al_yTi_{2-y})\;Ti_{6}O_{16},\;75wt\%$), perovskite ($Ca_{1-x}Sr_xTiO_3,\;15wt\%$) and rutile ($TiO_2,\;10wt\%$) is devised for the immobilization of Sr/Cs (1:3, wt$\%$) separated from HLW liquid. Especially, hollandite-rich Synroc with different contents of Al element is fabricated, and its mineral phase assemblage and microstructure are determined by using XRD and SEM/EDS. The durability test is carried out by using MCC-1 method, leachate is analyzed by using ICP/MS and ICP/ AES. The results indicate that hollandite-rich Synroc variants is a suitable host for Immobilization of Sr/Cs separated from HLW liquid.

  • In this paper Dielectric and strain properties of (1-x-y)PMN-yPT-xST Ceramics have been investigated as a function of the amount of $SrTiO_3(ST)$. The $SrTiO_3$ content is ranged from 0.01-0.06(wt%). As the amount of ST is increased, dielectric constant has a maximum value at 0.05 mol composition. The Curie temperature is decreased linearly with increasing ST composition and Polarization properties have been investigated. Coercive field and ramnant polarization has a maximum value at 0.01mol composition.

  • It was reported from our laboratory that the rate of deterioration of the force of contraction was slower in heart from Panax ginseng extract treated rats. Present investigation was designed to elucidate the mechanism of the slow deterioration of contractility of ginseng treated hearts. Therefore, $^{45}Ca^{2+}$ Uptake by sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) isolated from ginseng treated rate and control rats was studied. Rate weighing 150-250g were administered orally with ginseng ethanol extract (100mg/kg) for 10 days. Cardiac SR was isolated by differential centrifugation and $^{45}Ca^{2+}$ uptake was assessed by the Millipore method. Freshly isolated SR from treated as well as control animals did not show any differences, but after incubation for 30 and 60 min at 37.deg.C, $^{45}Ca^{2+}$ uptake of control animal SR was found to be greatly depressed. The SR of treated animal possessed a greater degree of resistance to incubation. Thus it can be concluded that ginseng may have an ability to sustain the normal function of the heart by sustaining Ca accumulation by SR involved with the excitationcontraction coupling processes.

양이온교환수지에 의한 알칼리 토금속 및 합금의 분리정량 (The analysis of alkaline earth metal and its alloy by using of cation exchanger)

  • The various eluents have been used for the separations of alkaline earth metals by elutions through cation exchange resin column by many investigators. We find, the mixed solution of 1M HAc and 1M NaAc (pH 4.75) is the best eluent for this purpose, becouse the one step elution through 7cm Dowex 50w${\times}$8(100~200mesh) resin column with this eluent, gives the quantitative separation. When 2M NaAc is used as a eluent Sr(II) and Ba(II) is separated easily without any contamination of Mg(II) andCa(II). The Ca-Pb alloy which is composed of Cu, Ca, Sr, Ba and abundance of Pb metal is separated quantitatively into its components by the two step elution with 0.3M HAc + 0.3M NaAc(PH 4.75) and 0.5M HAc + 0.5M NaAc(PH 4.75) as eluents through 10cm resin column.

  • A $BaTiO_3$, ferroelectric material, was mixed $SrTiO_3$, $(x)BaTiO_3-(1-x)SrTiO_3$($0.7{\leq}x{\leq}1$) ceramic capacitor with stable electrical properties in high voltage was fabricated. And microstructure, electrical property were investigated with $SrTiO_3$ mol ratio. The shrinkage, open porosity, sintering density were predominated at $9BaTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$. Increasing $SrTiO_3$ mol ratio, curie temperature was shifted at low temperature and maximum permittivity was increased. Also, $0.9BaTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$ was showed stable dielectric properties at $25{\sim}80[^{\circ}C]$. V-I properties of specimen were observed in the temperature range of $21{\sim}143[^{\circ}C]$, were divided into three regions. The region I below 10[kV/cm] was shown Ohmic conduction, the region II from 10 to 30[kV/cm] was explained by the Poole-Frenkel emission theory and the region III above 30[kV/cm] was analysed by the tunneling effect.

  • ($Ba_{0.7}Sr_{0.3})TiO_3$박막을 ITO-coated glass 기판위에 spin-coating법으로 제조하였다. 제조된 용액을 초음파 bath 내에서 초음파 처리하여 균일화를 촉진시킨 후 박막을 제조하여 초음파 처리하지 않은 용액으로 제조한 박막과의 비교를 통하여 초음파 효과를 알아보았다. 용액의 초음파 처리로 박막의 결정화 온도를 다소 낮추었으며 박막의 표면이 보다 균일하고 치밀화되었고 거칠기도 8.4nm에서 5.6nm로 더 낮아졌다. 그리고 박막의 투광성 및 전기적 특성 또한 용액의 초음파 처리로 인하여 향상되었다.

제주도 화산암류의 Sr-Nd-Pb 동위원소 연구 (Sr-Nd-Pb Isotopic Compositions of Lavas from Cheju Island, Korea)

  • 제주도의 알칼리암류 및 솔라아이트에 대한 Sr, Nd 그리고 Pb 동위원소비의 특징은 서루 유사하거나, 솔리아이트가 조금 더 부화된 특징을 갖는다. 그러나 분출시기에 따라 솔리아이트의 즉징을 구분하면, 전기의 것은 Lee (1982)의 용암대지 형성기의 알칼리암류와 유사한 반면, 후기의 것은 이 연구의 알칼리암류와 유사하다. 이는 알칼리암류와 솔리아이트가 동질의 근원에서 유래하였음을 지시하며, 분출 시기에 따라 부분용융된 맨틀 근원지으 성질이 차이가 있었음을 시사한다. 제주도 화산암류는 사모아 군도의 화산암류의 변화 및 남중국 분지 화산암류의 변화 경향과 중첩되어 DMM과 EM II 사이의 혼합으로 잘 설명될 수 있는 변화경향을 지닌다. 이는 제주도를 제외한 우리나라의 신생대 화산암류 및 북동 중국 화산암류들이 DMM-EM I사이의 혼합으로 설명이 되는 변화경향을 보이는 것과 차이가 난다. DMM-EM II 맨틀 물질간의 섞임 계산 결과, 제주도 화산암류를 형성한 맨틀 물질은 결핍 맨틀 (DMM)에 부화된 맨틀 (EMII)물질이 약 10% 이내의 비율로 섞인 특징을 가짐을 지시한다. 제주도를 포함한 우리나라 및 중국의 신생대 화산암류의 동위원소적 특징을 북중국 지괴와 남중국 지괴으 충돌이론(예,Yin and Nie, 1993)과 결부시키면, 부화된 맨틀 물질의 공급원으로 고려되는 대륙암권 맨틀의 지화학적 조성이 지괴에 따라 차이가 있었음을 나타낸다. 즉 북중국 지괴는 EM I의 표식을, 남중국 지괴는 EM II의 표식을 가지고 있었을 경우로 설명될 수 있음을 제시한다.

Eu2+/Dy3+ 이온이 도핑된 Sr2MgSi2O7 분말 합성 및 발광 특성 (Synthesis and Luminescent Characterization of Eu2+/Dy3+-Doped Sr2MgSi2O7 Powders)

  • $Eu^{2+}/Dy^{3+}$-doped $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7$ powders were synthesized using a solid-state reaction method with flux ($NH_4Cl$). The broad photoluminescence (PL) excitation spectra of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}$ were assigned to the $4f^7-4f^65d$ transition of the $Eu^{2+}$ ions, showing strong intensities in the range of 375 to 425 nm. A single emission band was observed at 470 nm, which was the result of two overlapping subbands at 468 and 507 nm owing to Eu(I) and Eu(II) sites. The strongest emission intensity of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}$ was obtained at the Eu concentration of 3 mol%. This concentration quenching mechanism was attributable to dipole-dipole interaction. The $Ba^{2+}$ substitution for $Sr^{2+}$ caused a blue-shift of the emission band; this behavior was discussed by considering the differences in ionic size and covalence between $Ba^{2+}$ and $Sr^{2+}$. The effects of the Eu/Dy ratios on the phosphorescence of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}/Dy^{3+}$ were investigated by measuring the decay time; the longest afterglow was obtained for $0.01Eu^{2+}/0.03Dy^{3+}$.
