  • Numerical calculation tool for forging of gear-like components based on kinematically admissible velocity fields for upper bound method applicable to various deformation features of workpiece in forging processes were suggested. Each one of them deals with unidirectional flow of metal on dies, such as external involute spur gear, sequare spline, internal serrations. A complex calcuation tool of gear-like component forging process was built up by combining these kinematically velocity fields. In this paper, the workpiece with both external and internal teeth is divided into two parts. The deformation of each part is analyzed simultaneously using numerical calculation tool form combined kinematically admissible velocity field. The experimental set-up was installed in a 200 ton hydraulic press. As a result, each kinematically admissible velocity field could be combined with other and the calculated solution are useful to predict the capacity of forging equipment.

쇼트피닝가공한 평기어의 최적 피닝강도 탐색에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Investigation of Optimal Peening Intensity for Shot Peened Spur Gear)

  • The shot peening process is often used to improve fatigue properties of metal parts. Among them, It is the most use in an auto-component. In order to achieve optimum, repeatable and reliable fatigue enhancement from the shot peening process, the important shot peening parameters must be controlled. In this paper, the optimum peening intensity (Almen intensity) condition is investigated by experiment. The Spur Gear steel was used to investigate shot peening effects. The fatigue life at $\sigma_a=1,050$ and $\sigma_a=1,250MPa$ first gently increases, then drops gently as peening intensity increases compared with unpeened specimen. Experimental results show that the optimum peening intensity range is $0.391\~0.434mmA$..So the fatigue strength and fatigue life have been tremendously increased by optimum-peening treatment. However, the fatigue strength and fatigue life have been decreased by over peeing.

  • Gear is general mechanical elements that used for power transmission between two shafts that interval is comparatively short. and it delivers big power as accurate ratio of speed. The profile of Spur gear which is the most basic factor is divided into Trochoidal fillet curve and Involute curve. Involute curve is used a lot of a shaped curve of machine parts such as a gear, a scroll compressor and a collar of centrifugal pump. However, It is poor to study the modeling of Trochoidal fillet curve and the three dimensions model shaped mathematical curve. This paper describes a mathematical model of profile shifted involute gear. and this model is based on Camus's theory. We draw three dimensions gear have accurate mathematical function using ADS, VisualLISP. and To check accuracy and perfection, we make a program of checking Interference. and use for this study.

초소형 스퍼기어 제조를 위한 초소성 Al-78Zn 분말 압출 (Powder extrusion with superplastic Al-78Zn powders for micro spur gears)

  • This study was designed to fabricate the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) parts such as micro spur gears using hot extrusion of gas atomized Al-78Zn powders. For this purpose, it is important to develop new methods to fabricate micro-dies and choose suitable extrusion conditions for a micro-forming. Micro-dies with Ni were fabricated by LIGA technology. LIGA technology was capable to produce micro-extrusion dies with close tolerances, thick bearing length and adequate surface quality. Superplastic Al-78Zn powders have the great advantage in achieving deformation under low stresses and exhibiting good micro formability with average strain rates ranging from $10^{-3}$ to $10^{-2}\;s^{-1}$ and constant temperatures ranging from 503 to 563K. Al-78Zn powders were compacted into a cylindrical shape (${\Phi}3{\times}h10$) under compressive force of 10kN and, subsequently, the compacted powders were extruded at 563k in a hot furnace. Micro-extrusion has succeeded in forming micro-gear shafts.
