PDPA를 이용한 노즐의 형상에 따른 분무 특성의 연구 (A Study of Spray Characteristics for the Shape of Nozzle by Phase Doppler Analyzer)

  • The skill that utilizes atomization of the liquid has been widely used in the field of industry and engineering. Though there are dozens of methods to make atomization, the pressure type injection nozzle is frequently used in washing of parts, pastourization and painting because it has relatively simple system. This study is to reveal the characteristics of atomizing formed by three different types of the pressure type injection nozzle. We measured velocity and diameter of droplet to compare and analyze characteristic of each nozzle. In case of velocity, atomization of hollow-cone nozzle is irregular than others and change of radial direction is especially large. Atomization of flat nozzle is nearly uniform. In case of diameter, atomization of hollow-cone nozzle is increased rapidly, as measurement point become more distant from the center of nozzle. Atomization of flat nozzle has the most fixed magnitude. Accordingly, full-cone nozzle can be used irrespective of the form of subject and hollow-cone nozzle is proper to the occasion to spray large and smooth subject. Also, flat nozzle is proper to the occasion to spray a part of subject and long groove.

엔진 유동장에서 분사시기에 따른 혼합기의 기ㆍ액상 농도 분포에 관한 연구 (Concentration Distribution of Liquid/vapor Phases under In-Cylinder Flow Field with Different Injection Timings)

  • The present study experimentally investigates the concentration distribution of liquid and vapor phase with different injection timings in the in-cylinder flow field of a optically accessible engine. The conventional MPI, DOHC engine was modified into DI gasoline engine. The images of liquid and vapor phases in the motoring engine were captured by using exciplex fluorescence method. Dopants used in this study were 2% fluorobenzene and 9% DEMA(diethyl-methyl-amino) in 89% solution of hexane by volume respectively. Two dimensional spray fluorescence images of liquid and vapor phases were acquired to analyze spray behaviors and fuel distribution in the in-cylinder flow field. Measurements were carried out fur four different injection timings, namely BTDC 270$^{\circ}$, 180$^{\circ}$, 90$^{\circ}$, and 50$^{\circ}$. Experimental results indicate that behaviors and distribution of vapor phase were largely affected by in-cylinder tumble flow, and mixture formation process was also greatly affected by in-cylinder flow at early injection mode and by ambient pressure at late injection mode.

Fabrication of Transparent Heat-element using Single- Walled Carbon Nanotubes

  • In this research, single walled carbon nano-tube film was manufactured with spray coating method on glass for application as transparent heat element. SWNTs solution to be used for spraying is obtained by dispersion of 0.01 wt% purified SWNTs in dimethylformamide (DMF) solution through ultrasonification and centrifugation. The transmittance and sheet resistance of SWNTs film were determined by the number of spray injection. Manufactured SWNTs film will have sheet resistance range of $200\;\Omega/\square-900\;\Omega/\square$ at transmittance range of 70-90 %. Heat generation characteristic of SWNTs film was measured by applying constant DC voltage of 15V. The result confirmed that SWNTs film with sheet resistance of $200\;\Omega/\square$ reaches surface temperature of $80^{\circ}C$ within several seconds. In addition, PET coating film was coated on top of the SWNTs film by using laminator in order to solve weak adhesive property of the spray coated SWNTs film on the substrate as well as to maintain its electrical and optical properties.

  • The purpose of the research is to investigate of diesel spray combustion for simultaneously reduce way NOx and PM. The pressure diesel injection were done into intermediates that are generated by very lean DME HCCI combustion using a RCM. The concentration of intermediate could not be directly measured; we estimated it by CHEMKIN calculation. DME HCCI characteristic is surveyed. Validations of the CHEMKIN calculation were confirmed pressure rise of an experiment and pressure rise of a calculation. Using a framing streak camera captured two dimensional spontaneous luminescence images from chemical species at low temperature reaction(LTR) and high temperature reaction (HTR). Also, the combustion events were observed by high-speed direct photography, the ignition and combustion were analyzed by the combustion chamber pressure profiles.

  • 본 연구는 Kerosene-LOx를 추진제로 하는 가스발생기용 스월 동축형 인젝터의 리세스 길이에 따른 내부 유동의 특성 파악을 목표로 하였다. 리세스 길이는 분무 안정성, 내부 LOx post 손상 등에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소로 액막두께, 매니폴드 압력 측정 및 내부 유동 가시화를 통해 리세스의 영향을 분석하였다. 또한, 리세스 길이에 따른 내부 또는 외부 인젝터 각각의 분무특성도 살펴보았다.

  • The vacuum plasma coating was performed to analysis the characteristic and find the optimum process conditions for the vacuum plasma spray coating. It was observed that the square shape of powder in case of carbide ceramics does not fluidize well compared to the round shape of powder in case of oxide ceramics so that the plasma spraying is not uniform. The analysis through SEM and EDS mapping shows that the coatings represent excellent structural features with strong resistance against oxidation and satisfied result with vacuum plasma coating.

  • 350Kw급 이하의 초소형 터보제트엔진에서 연료 미립화 특성을 만족하는 분사시스템을 개발하는 것은 매우 어려운 일이다. 그러나 회전 연료 분사시스템은 복잡한 고압연료펌프 시스템 없이도 엔진축의 원심력만을 이용함으로써 좋은 미립화를 할 수 있다. 이러한 이유로, 직경 40 mm의 매우 작은 회전식 연료 인젝터를 제작하였으며, 여러 가지 크기의 분사 오리피스에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. PDPA 측정 시스템을 사용하여 입자의 크기와 속도, 분무분포를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 분사 오리피스로부터 분출된 단일 액주의 길이는 회전속도에 의해 제어되며, SMD는 회전수가 증가함에 따라 감소하고, 오리피스의 직경과 오리피스 내부에 생성되는 액막두께에 큰 영향을 받는다.

Atomization Characteristics in Pneumatic Counterflowing Internal Mixing Nozzle

  • In an effort to illustrate the global variation of SMD (Sauter mean diameter, or $D_{32}$) and AMD (Arithmetic mean diameter, or $D_{10}$) at five axial downstream locations (i. e., at Z=30, 50, 80, 120, and 170 mm) under the different experimental conditions, the radial coordinate is normalized by the spray half-width. Experimental data to analyze the atomization characteristics concerning with an internal mixing type have been obtained using a PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer). The air injection pressure was varied from 40 kPa to 120 kPa. In this study, counterflowing internal mixing nozzles manufactured at an angle of $15^{\circ}$with axi-symmetric tangential-drilled four holes have been considered. By comparing the results, it is clearly possible to discern the effects of increasing air pressure, suggesting that the disintegration process is enhanced and finer spray droplets can be obtained under higher air assist. The variations in $D_{32}$ are attributed to the characteristic feature of internal mixing nozzle in which the droplets are preferentially ejected downward with strong axial momentum, and dispersed with the larger droplets which are detected in the spray centerline at the near stations and smaller ones are generated due to further subsequent breakup by higher shear stresses at farther axial locations. The poor atomization around the centre close to the nozzle exit is attributed to the fact that the relatively lower rates of spherical particles are detected and these drops are not subject to instantaneous breakup in spite of the strong axial momentum. However, substantial increases in SMD from the central part toward the edge of the spray as they go farther downstream are mainly due to the fact that the relative velocity of droplet is too low to cause any subsequent disintegration.

  • 슬링거 연소기 회전연료노즐의 유량과 회전수의 변화에 따른 분무 특성을 관측하기 위한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 물 공급장치, 고속 회전모터, 회전연료노즐, 시험용 챔버로 구성된 분무 시험리그를 구성하였으며, 고속카메라와 고출력 광원을 사용하여 회전연료노즐 오리피스로부터 토출되는 물의 분무를 가시화하였다. 실험 결과 유량이 감소하고 회전수가 증가할수록 미립화가 향상됨을 확인하였다. 분무 특성 모드와 성능함수로 구성된 맵을 도출한 결과, 기체의 공기역학적 Weber 수와 액체-기체 모멘텀 플럭스 비는 액체의 주 분열 특성과 관련이 있으며, 액체-기체 모멘텀 플럭스 비와 Rossby 수는 액체 분출 모드와 밀접한 상관관계를 가짐을 확인하였다.
