This paper presents a novel impact sensor which can be fabricated with smart paint made of grapheme. This smart nano paint can be easily installed on structures using a spray-on technique and that can make the sensor low cost and practical. The graphene effectively improves the piezoresistivity of the smart paint and that is available to achieve sensitive impact sensor with high gauge factor. The nano smart-paint can detect sufficient impact to cover the damaged energy range of the composite around 1~3J. The voltage outputs from the sprayed paints show fairly linear responses after signal processing. The impact makes deformation of the structure and it brings change of piezoresistivity of the paint and those converts into voltage output consequently by means of a simple signal processing system. The nano smart paint is lightweight and easily applied to the structural surface, and there is no stress concentration. The nano smart paint is expected to be a cost effective and sensitive multi-functional sensor for composites and other damage monitoring applications in the field of structural health monitoring.

The automotive industry as the major industry of the nation has affected both society and economy since the automobile was invented, and the main technique that help to performance improvement of the automobile has been developed. But, the painting technique lags behind the main technique of the automobile because that was neglected. Specially, we can say that in case of the painting technique of the automobile of our nation is so weak situation. After we changed the injecting pressure, the composition ratio (paint, hardener, thinner) and the injecting flow rate from spray-gun by PDPA, we studied the character of the injecting velocity and droplet size, and found the fittest condition. So, we got the following result to help mending paint technique of automobile surface. We could know the following fact from the experiment result. When it does mending paint of automobile, there is most suitable that to inject the paint as injecting pressure 200∼300 kPa and to inject the ratio of paint 10 : 1 : 1 when the fluid adjective knob valve spay-gun is open full.
The atomization of barley tea concentrate with paint spray gun of two fluid nozzle was investigated. The physical properties of barley tea concentrate were correlated to the operating parameters; soluble solid concentration, viscosity, specific gravity and surface tension. The air to liquid feed ratios at various barley tea concentration were correlated to the air pressures applied. The diameters of sprays at various air pressures (from 164 mmHg to 564 mmHg) and soluble solid concentrations (from 3.1% to 25.2%) were also investigated.
Damage of cultural properties happens variously. Particularly, the surface damage of metal cultural properties exposed outdoors lowers historical and art historical value of artifact by artificial damage such as paint, scribbling containing oily material and so on. Therefore, this study compared dry-ice pellet cleaning with poultice when clearing paint and oily material environment-friendly, harmlessly to humans and without damage of artifact. As the result of experiment, when clearing those (paint and oily material) by poultice, oily paint was cleared, but there were spots of metal surface. Also, Lacquer spray wasn't well cleared, and resin came off the surface of artifact. When clearing those by dry-ice pellet cleaning, oil paint was cleanly cleared without surface damage of artifact according to Stereoscopic microscope observation, color-measurement, FT-IR, SEM analysis. Also, lacquer spray seemed to be cleared with the naked eye, but there were minute particles on surface according to the result of SEM observation. Consequently, we could confirm possibility of dry-ice pellet cleaning substitution.

Corrosion resistance and adhesion of electro-paint (E-paint) with fluoride conversion coating (FCC) on AZ31 Mg alloy were studied. Corrosion resistance and adhesion were studied as a function of FCC-treatment time and concentration of FCC-bath. Aqueous hydrogen fluoride (HF) solutions, with concentrations ranging from 0.5 M to 5 M, were used to form FCC on chemically polished AZ31 Mg alloy samples for six different times; 10, 30, 60, 90, 120, and 180s. The results from salt spray test (SST) showed that corrosion resistance of E-paint appeared to decrease with increasing FCC treatment times in low concentration FCC baths. The number of blisters formed on the FCC-treated samples increased with increasing FCC treatment time of more than 1 min in low concentration (0.5 M to 1 M) solutions. On the other hand, samples treated in the 5 M HF solution for 120s showed no delamination or blistering even after 1200h of SST.

Multi-nozzle spray painting procedure of the inorganic zinc shop primer was established in order to obtain uniform film thickness. The shop primer paint prevents the corrosion of steel block during shipbuilding. When the dry film thickness of shop primer is insufficient, rust will be generated on the steel block. Otherwise, thick coating of shop primer may be a problem of weld defect. So, it is important to obtain the uniform film thickness of shop primer. The uniformity of dry film thickness is affected by spray speed, distance from spray gun to target surface and overlapping span of spray path. In order to uniformly maintain coating thickness of shop primer, the coating procedure was established based on the correlation of shop primer spray variables.
The purpose of this study is to develop realistic painting simulation in real-time as well as to represent the thickness of the deposited paint on the surface. The Gaussian model is used for a painting deposition model to calculate the thickness of paints. For a painting simulation, rather than implementing particle systems, we propose a new heuristic algorithm for painting process based on a few number of rays. After we find the collision points of the rays with an environment, we compute the painted area using flood-fill searching method on the texture map and visualize paint effects. We analyzed time complexity of our method to verify that our system is suitable for real-time VR applications.
This research was carried out focusing on the urgent treatment and related studies for paint scribbling on Samjeondobi Monument (Historic Sites No. 101) in 2007. Before the preliminary test, the paint lacquer used on the surface of Samjeondobi Monument was analyzed. The paint lacquer turned out to be the paint lacquer spray composed of $Pb_3O_4$ used for the red pigment in the market. It was proved that the poultice used with the organic solvent was the best way to remove the paint pollutants following the preliminary test for the removal of paint pollutants which was performed with various removal methods by the laser, etc. However, the removing the paint pollutants was found in difficulty in contrast to the preliminary tests because the paint on the spot was hardened so rapidly over time that there was difference from the situation of the laboratory. For that problem, the poultice method with ethylene dichloride of main component from Remover (goods in the market) was the most efficient, therefore the pollutants were removed with the solution of alkyds resin and nitrocellulose and the rest part was removed by the $Laponite^{(R)}$ RD.
In the present work, atomization characteristics of shear-thinning liquid slurry discharging from fan spray nozzles were studied experimentally for spray painting applications. The effects of solid particle size and concentration on the properties (especially on the viscosity) of suspensions and mean drop size were examined by using model fluids. In the range of low particle concentration (below 3 wt%), the fluid viscosity was primarily determined by the particle size. On the other hand, in the range of high particle concentration (higher than 10 wt%), the agglomeration phenomenon and the oil absorption capability of solid particles played major roles in determining the fluid viscosity. In the high concentration region, which most of the paints belong to, the fluid became more viscous and the shear thinning behavior appeared more prominent as the particle concentration was increased. In this region, mean drop size(SMD) decreased more rapidly with the increase of the injection pressure. Also, SMD became larger with the higher particle concentration and the larger particle size.
In any developing nation major investment goes for infrastructure and it is not exception in India. Good numbers of buildings, bridges, shopping malls, car parks etc. are coming up with steel for sustainable development. Thus protecting the structures from corrosion are the challenges faced by professionals for all types of steel structures. About 3% of GDP is accounted for loss due to corrosion. To combat this up to date corrosion map is called for as the country has wide variation of climatic zones with vastcoastline. Logically organic paint system can be prescribed based on the corrosion rate on bare steel with respect to environment. Present paper will emphasis on the study conducted on two types of structural steel coated with organic paint located in twomarine environment having been exposed for three years, Test coupons made from steels both bare and coated are deployed at two field stations having marine (Digha) and industrial marine (Channai) environments. Various tests like AC impedance DC corrosion, polarisation, salt spray test, $SO_2$ chamber and Raman spectroscopy were carried out both in laboratory on fresh as well as coupons collected from exposure sites. Rust formed on the bare and scribed coated coupons are investigated. It is found that normal marine environment at Digha exhibits higher corrosion rate than polluted marine environment in Channai. Rust analysis indicates formation of ${\propto}$-FeoOH protects or reduces corrosion rate at Channai and formation of non-protective ${\gamma}$-FeoOH increases corrosion rate at Digha. The slower corrosion rate in Channai than at Digha is attributed due to availability of $SO_2$, in the environment, which converts non‐protective rust ${\gamma}$-FeoOH to protective rust ${\propto}$-FeoOH. While comparing the damage on the coated panels it is found that low alloy structural steel provides less damage than plain carbon steel. From the experimentations a suitable paint system specification is drawn for identical environments for low medium and high durability.
