투습도 측정방법에 따른 스포츠웨어용 투습직물의 투습특성 (Breathability of Breathable Fabrics for Sportswear according to Measuring Method)

  • This study investigated water vapor permeability of the 73 breathable fabrics for sports-wear according to the materials, finishing methods and fabric structural parameters. The water vapor permeability by KS K 0594 method of PET breathable fabric was superior than that of nylon one, in addition, water vapor permeability of coated or laminated breathable fabrics were higher than those of hot melt or dot laminated fabrics. The water vapor permeability of breathable fabric was dependent on the thickness, weight and density, which was consistent with measuring method. However, water vapor permeability according to materials and finishing method showed different results according to measuring method. The correlation coefficient of WVP of PET breathable fabrics between ISO and KS K measuring methods was -0.83 and the correlation coefficient of WVP of coated breathable fabrics was -0.72 and -0.71 for KS K and ASTM and -0.72 for KS K and ISO in hot melt laminated breathable fabrics. According to regression analysis, WVP of PET breathable fabric by both KSK and ISO measuring methods was highly dependent upon on the density and weight. In addition, WVP of hot melt laminated breathable fabric was highly dependent upon thickness, weight and density. Therefore, relevant measuring method for WVP of breathable fabrics has to be adopted to measure precise breathability.

A Study on Use of Anthropometric Data and 3D Body Scan Data at Apparel Industry

  • The 3D measurement data expected be useful to give appropriate garment fit and development of MTM(Made-to-Measure) CAD software. The researcher surveyed the need and use of national anthropometric data of the apparel industry. 17 Korean apparel manufacturers participated in the study. The need of anthropometric data at 5 different apparel business sectors was measured: men's suit, women's dress, casual-wear, underwear, and active sportswear. The result of the survey shows that height and bust, waist, hip circumferences are needed by all of the business sectors. The body measurements at the scye and upper arm area were need most by the men's suit manufacturers. The women's foundation garment manufacturers were well prepared for the use of the 3D body scan data and they expected the potential benefits of 3D body scan data would be great. The researcher also conducted a case study and found a pro and con of the using 3D body scan data for apparel product developing process. In the current stage of technical advance, a reasonable method was required to get nude like scan data for the women's foundation garment manufacturer. The researcher concluded that the apparel designer could use the 3D scan data for developing tremendous style garment design and pattern making.

하이브리드에 의한 패션의 스포티즘 연구 (Sportism in Fashion Generated from Hybrid)

  • Sportism is continuously expressed in every season in a different theme and established as a Mega-Trend of the early 21 th century fashion. This study was conducted to research the social and cultural sources of the sportism expressed in the early 21th century fashion. This study focused on hybrid as one of the post-modem phenomena. By analysing social and cultural sources of the sportism, three aspects were found; first, many different fashion trends are coincides in post-modem society, which is possible and accelerated by hybrid each other. Second, the complicated and competitive society urge the people to review the past and the originality. Third, youth-oriented and individualistic lifestyle was brought by the development of the technology and economic surplus. Hybrid of the TPO was analysed which made the sportism mega-trend. 'Formal wear was mixed with casual wear, casual wear with active sportswear, hi-fashion with street fashion, and hi-fashion influenced formal and casual wear again'. The sportism prevalent in 21th century fashion can be explained by this system of hybrid. Results of the analysis in this study can be categorized into four aesthetic values based on hybrid of the styles, which are glamorous sportism, romantic sportism, minimal sportism, and heritage sportism.

A study on procedure for classifying male muscular lower body somatotype from general anthropometric database

  • The most researches developing pattern of compression style sportswear were targeted at the live model that has muscular body build. The purpose of this study was developing a method for classifying men's lower body types in terms of muscular body build. The 3D human body scan data and body measurements of 30s of Size Korea were analyzed. The subjects (n=203) were men between the ages of 30 and 39 years. Men's muscular body build was classified with two key dimensions, thigh girth and calf girth. The subjects were divided into four groups. From each group, average subjects (n=42) whose height and weight were close to the mean value ($mean{\pm}1/2$ S.D.) were selected. 42 subjects were divided up as four groups. Group I (n=7) was thigh and calf developed body type. Group II (n=9) was thigh developed body type. Group III (n=11) was calf developed body type. Group IV (n=15) was thigh and calf undeveloped body type. Four groups had distinct different at widths (n=4), depths (n=4), and girths (n=9) dimensions. The results showed that the muscular men in their 30s could be defined by thigh and calf girths. The thigh developed muscular men had thigh girth over 60cm and the calf developed muscular men had calf girth over 38cm. From each group one representative was selected by 3D body scan figure.

기능성 의복의 국내 디자인 특허출원 동향분석 (Domestic Design Patent Analysis of Functional Clothing)

  • Design patent is a type of industrial design right that is granted on the ornamental design of a functional item. We analyzed domestic design patents that were applied from 1965 until 2008, to the field of functional clothing. Since the year 2000 the number of design patents of functional clothing progressively increased. Design patents applied to the functional clothing field includes sport wear (47%), working clothes (34%), and leisure wear (19%). Design development of the sports wear from the latter half of 1990's has shown a continuously increasing tendency. The most patent applications belonged to the companies(51.4%), followed by individual applicants (46.6%), and the universities or laboratories had the least number of applications (2.0%). In case of working clothes or the leisure wear, the number of design applications focusing on the functional characteristic is higher than that of aesthetic characteristic, however, the number of design applications focusing on the aesthetic characteristic is higher in sportswear.

직물 구조인자와 표면 가공특성이 스포츠 의류용 투습직물의 발수/방수/투습특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Fabric Structural Parameters and Surface Finishing Characteristics to Water Repellency/Proofing/Vapor Permeability of Breathable Fabrics for Sportswear Clothing)

  • This paper examined the water repellency, water proofing and water vapor permeability of twelve types of woven fabrics for sports wear clothing. Their physical properties were compared and discussed with the fabric structural parameters and surface finishing effect. A water repellent property of 100% was obtained in the coated or laminated water repellent finished fabrics; in addition, cotton/nylon breathable composite fabrics treated with a laminated finishing and with low fabric density showed a 90% water repellency. Water proofing fabric above 6,000 mm H2O hydraulic pressure was achieved by coated or laminated finishing; however, high density fabric or medium-level coated fabrics exhibited 100% water repellent and low water proofing characteristics. Superior water vapor permeability characteristics with good water repellency and proofing properties were achieved at the 2.5 layered low density and with 0.7 - 0.9 cover factor nylon fabrics treated with hydrophilic laminated finishing. The regression analysis for examining the effects of fabric structural parameters and surface finishing such as coating and laminating to the water vapor permeability exhibited a high determination coefficient of fabric structural parameters of 63.5%; in addition,, main factors among fabric structural parameters appeared to be cover factor and fabric thickness per weight. Coating and Laminating factors exhibited determination coefficient of water vapor permeability parameters of 36.5%.

배드민턴 참여자들의 웰빙 라이프스타일이 스포츠웨어 추구혜택에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Well-being Lifestyle on Sportswear Benefit Pursuit among Participants in Badminton)

  • 연구는 배드민턴 참여자들의 웰빙 라이프스타일이 스포츠웨어 추구혜택에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 강원도에서 배드민턴 클럽에 참여하고 있는 성인 남녀를 대상으로 206명을 표집하여 SPSS/PC+ 11.0 Version을 사용하여 통계분석을 실시 하였다. 이 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 웰빙 라이프스타일의 하위요인 패션 유행추구, 사회지향성의 순으로 스포츠웨어 추구혜택인 이상적 추구혜택에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 웰빙라이프스타일의 하위요인 물질추구, 패션 유행추구, 현실만족 순으로 스포츠웨어 추구혜택인 유행과 브랜드 추구혜택에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 웰빙 라이프스타일의 하위요인 자기충실, 사회지향성, 건강추구, 현실만족의 순으로 스포츠웨어 추구혜택인 편안함 추구혜택에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 웰빙 라이프스타일이 패션 유행추구, 물질추구, 사회지향성의 순으로 웰빙 라이프스타일이 젊음과 개성 추구혜택에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들을 바탕으로 스포츠활동에 참여하는 대상자들이 스포츠웨어 추구혜택을 정확히 파악함으로써 스포츠활동에 보다 더 질 좋은 스포츠웨어 제품을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

국내 의류매장 윈도우 디스플레이의 공간구성과 소도구 (Space Construction and Props Used in Window Display of Clothing Stores)

  • Use of the right props in the window display of fashion stores is an essential factor of stimulating customers'interest in purchase, white display is known as important means of expressing fashion. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the practice of window display in domestic fashion stores in terms of props and space construction and to find the differences among 5 different brand types including adult women's, women's casual, men's, unisex, and sportswear. For this study, the window display of the 165 fashion brands was investigated according to the kinds of props used. The data were analyzed by using frequency count and percentage. The various kinds of props were used according to the different brand types and this result was found to be statistically significant. It was found that the four different types of mannequins were the most frequently used props in all fashion brands. And the other props used commonly in fashion stores included photographs, plants, furnitures, and outdoor displays. A variety of special kinds of props were used to attract customers depending on the types of brands. As a conclusion, the importance of selecting effective props was increasingly recognized and the prospect of window display was found to be dependent on the use of right props.

패션애플리케이션 사용자의 정보추구 혜택이 충성도와 만족도에 미치는 영향 - 아이폰 패션애플리케이션을 중심으로 - (A Study on Information-seeking Benefits of Fashion Applications of Users and their Effects on loyalty and Satisfaction - Focused on iPhone Fashion Applications -)

  • Considering the rapid growth of mobile industry and the emerging application marketing, this study focused on fashion applications, which had not drawn much academic attention before, and analysed relevant content composition, information-seeking benefits based on users' lifestyles and resulting differences in satisfaction and loyalty. In short, fashion applications were divided into fashion and non-fashion brand apps. Brand apps were subdivided into luxury, women's wear, men's wear, casual wear, sportswear, accessories and the like. Non-brand apps included commerce, magazine, information, style tip, SNS and wardrobe manager types. As for users' lifestyle-based information search, the higher the tendency to search information on the internet and to favour reasonable consumption, the more basic information on products and brands they sought, whereas the higher the tendency to look for high-profile brands and to favour global culture, the more additional information like images or entertainments they sought. To sum up, given that studies on fashion-specific applications were rare, the present study reviewed and categorized current fashion applications, and suggested theoretical and practical groundwork for developing content based on target consumers' lifestyle and for planning fashion applications in practice.

냉감소재를 사용한 여름철 의류의 구매행동과 디자인 선호도 연구 (A Study on Clothing Purchasing Behaviors and Design Preference of Summer Clothes using Cooling Textiles)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate purchasing behaviors of summer clothes using cooling textiles and clothing design preference in summer season. The subjects were 623 married women aged from 30s to 60s. The research method was a survey and the measuring instruments consisted of purchasing behaviors of summer clothes using cooling textiles, clothing design preference in summer season, and subjects' demographics attributions. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, multiple response analysis, cross tabs analysis, and $x^2$ test, using SPSS statistical program. The results were as follows. First, important clothing selection criteria were design, price, and textiles. The main items using cooling textiles that female consumers purchased were T-shirts, pants, and outdoor & sportswear. Main information sources of summer clothes using cooling textiles were internet and store display, and purchasing places were fashion outlet, internet, brand store, and department store. Second, female consumers most preferred comfortable and casual style. They mainly preferred white and blue color, pastel and pale tone, plain pattern, and cotton and functional materials in summer season. Third, there were many important differences among 4 age groups on purchasing behaviors of summer clothes using cooling textiles and design preference in summer season.
