Numerous types of sporting events have been hosted in Korea during the last decades. Sport events produce various types of data, and there is a clear necessity of storing and utilizing this information. From this background, the purpose of this study is to draw complex sports categories from international sport events life cycles in order to categorize standards of knowledges management system. This study utilized qualitative methods: expert groups discussion for overall life cycle steps and in-depth interviews for detail life cycle steps. The results show that there are several life cycle steps: bidding, preparation, operation, evaluation, post management steps. To be more specific, for the bidding step, there are check, plan, implementing detail phase; and the preparation step is based on event preparation Basis Build, event preparation implementation, test and supplementation phases. For the operation step, event operation system switch, event operation during the period, finish operation phases are deducted. Evaluation and post management step do not have detail phases. Efforts to store and utilize knowledge can be one of the starting points to make the operation of sport events efficiently.

It is not easy to present a generalized operating model because the operating environment of a sport event is composed of a complex matrix structure. In this study, we propose 'standardization' which provides guidance of concept and process of sport event management to solve this sports event management problem. To purpose complete of this study, the frame was developed by the international standard ISO 9001: 2015 is applied. The standards framework for sports event process management system structure proposed in this study consists of scope of application, citing standard, Terms and definitions, organizational situation, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement. This sport event process management system standard can be applied to any organization that wants to host, prepare, and operate sport events regardless of the form or scale of the sport event. In addition, this standard was focused on process management of life-cycle stages of sporting events, therefor it was possible to manage interrelationships and dependencies between processes and processes.

In this study, we propose an ontology based knowledge service system for efficient and sustainable sports events management with information and communication technology. For delivering personalized information and knowledge which relate on sports event operation and management, we analyze the core operations and suggest structure of sport event life-cycle process. Also, we design ontology based knowledge service as proposed in this study to apply on a golf tournament event management system.
