The purpose of this study was to estimate the economic impact of the 23 sport-events in the city of Sokcho using an input-output(I-O) model. The multipliers of the sport-events were derived with respect to output, value added, personal income, indirect tax, and employment. The survey was conducted to estimate the total expenditures from participants (players, staffs, and spectators) (N = 1,026). In results, the lifetime sport-events were much more efficient than the elite sport-events in qualitative perspectives. One of the largest and fastest growing segments of the tourism industry, sport tourism refers to travel to play sports, watch sports, or to visit a sport attraction including both competitive and non-competitive activities. In this respect, cycling can be considered as not only a form of physical exercise but also a form of tourism in which cycling is a usual tourism-related activity, heading to a particular destination. The purpose of this study is to examine how demographical differences of cycle tourists are related to the quality of their life. An online survey was conducted and data was analyzed using frequency, reliability, and one - way ANOVA using SPSS 22.0. First, we found that there was no significant difference on the quality of physical life based on demographical characteristics. Second, the analysis of the relationship between demographical characteristics and the quality of mental life showed that income level affects their quality of mental life. Third, the analysis of the relationship between socio demographic characteristics and the quality of social life showed that marital status affects the quality of social life. Fourth, no statistically significant difference was found between the demographical characteristics and the quality of environmental life. Further implications were discussed.

Recently, the effort that converge the sport and ICT continues together with developing ICT. The game is a representative example. The digital sport is developing as mixed type that are composed with sport and digital such as screen golf and screen bowling. The addiction problem exist in the digital sport like the addiction problem exist in general sport. In this paper, we propose the addiction model in the digital sport as fractional-order. We represent time series and phase portrait for nonlinear behavior from proposed fractional-order model and we confirms the difference between them.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to confirm that the cross-country ski sprint course in PyeongChang, where the 2018 Winter Olympics course was to utilize wearable devices equipped with inertial measurement unit (IMU), global positioning system (GPS) and heart rates sensor. Method: For the data collection, two national level cross-country (XC) skiers performed classic technique on the entire sprint course. We analyzed cycle characteristics, range of motion on double poling (DP) technique, average velocity, and displacement of 3 points according to the terrain. Results: The absolute cycle time gradually decreased during starting, middle and finish sections. While the length of the DP increased and the heart rates tended to increase for men skier. In addition, the results indicated that range of motion of knee joint during starting and finish section decreased more than middle section. The errors of latitude and longitude data collected through GPS were within 3 m from 3 points. Conclusion: Through the first case study in Korea, which analyzed the location and condition of XC skiers in the entire sprint course in real time, confirmed that feedback was available in the field using various wearable sensors.

A mega sport event as the globalization phenomenon is not only the symbol of the process of modernization but also the vehicle to upgrade global power and hold a dominant position in the world competition under the post-industrial era. This study notifies the role of mega sport events as a strategy for urban innovation in the context of global and local. Comparing the different roles of mega sport events between developing countries and developed countries, we intend to answer two questions: 1) what explains the nature and role of mega sport event, and 2) what are the major evidences of the transition in the globalization era. The conceptual framework, based on the temporal and spatial perspective, provides the mechanism through which the strategy for urban innovation has been changed from 'motivation for modernization' to 'rethinking of localization.' Focusing on the case of Seoul, we also compare major issues between two phases: role of agent, urban form, and urban development. Finally, this study sheds light on the concept of 'glocalization' which means the convergence of globalization and localization; and suggests the roles of (local) agent for hosting mega sport events.
