하이브리드 FRP 보강근의 형상개발과 부착성능 평가 (Development of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Polymer Reinforcing Bars and Evaluation of the Bond Properties)

  • The various rib geometry of hybrid fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcing bars were analyzed by finite element method. From the analysis result, two types of hybrid FRP reinforcing bars such as spiral and cross type with the same dimension of rib geometry were fabricated in this study. To evaluate the bond properties of them, direct pull-out test was performed. All testing procedures including specimens preparation, set-up of test equipments and measuring devices were made in accordance with the recommendations of CSA Standard S806-02. From the test results, it was found that cross type hybrid FRP reinforcing bars showed the highest bond strength than that of the others due to the higher relative rib area.

선박의 선회권 작성에 관한 고찰 (A Study on Developing Ship's Turing Circles)

  • It is very important for both naval architects and ship's officers to know the maneuvering characteristics of their ships. As the abilities of a rudder which controlls a ship can be determined clearly by analyzing the results of Kempf's zig-zag maneuver and directional stability of a ship also known by Dieudonn spiral maneuver, the importance of turning test which takes much time is recently apt to be neglected. But because the test can be executed comparatively more simply than any other maneuvering tests, it gives some informations on the directional stability, and turning characteristics may be expressed simply by the results of the test, it is still often performed. In this paper several assumptions are made to simplify the turning motion of a ship. The equations of initial transient phase, the radius ofsteady turning circle, and the center of the steady turning point are derived by using the hydrodynamic derivatives. And then the approximate method of drawing the turning circle geometrically is suggested.

  • Recently, there are much concerns about new and innovative transverse materials which could be used instead of conventional transverse steel in reinforced concrete bridge piers. FRP materials could be substituted for conventional transverse steel because of their sufficient strength, light weight, easy fabrication, and useful applicability to any shapes of pier sections, such as rectangular or circular sections. The objective of this research is to evaluate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete bridge pier specimens with FRP transverse reinforcement by means of the Quasi-Static test. In the first task, test columns were made using FRP rope, but these specimens appeared to fail at low displacement ductility levels due to insufficient confinement of strand extension itself. Therefore, the second task was to evaluate the seismic performance of test specimens transversely confined with FRP band. Although FRP banded specimens showed lower seismic performance than the specimen with spiral reinforcing steel, it satisfied with the response modification factor, 3, required for the single column of Korea bridge roadway design code. It was concluded that FRP band could be efficiently substituted for conventional reinforcing steel.

폐색전증에서 나선형 컴퓨터 전산화 단층촬영의 관찰자간의 일치도에 관한 연구 (A Study of Inter-observer Agreements of Spiral Chest Computed Tomography in Diagnosing Pulmonary Embolism)

  • 연구배경 : 폐색전증은 비특이적인 증상과 징후로 인해 진단이 지연될 수 있고 이로 인해 치명적인 결과를 가져 올 수 있으나 정확한 진단과 적절한 치료를 시행하는 경우 재발 및 사망의 경우가 흔치 않다. 폐색전증과 관련되어 나타나는 예방 가능한 사망의 대부분은 치료실패 보다는 진단이 지연되는 경우에서 기인하므로 보다 정확하고 빠른 검사법을 요구하게 되었다. 나선형 흉부 전산화 단층촬영은 혈전을 직접 관찰할 수 있고 이외의 부가적 진단이 가능하며 최근 multidetector-row spiral CT의 도입으로 중심 및 말초의 혈전도 더 정확한 진단이 가능해져 나선형 흉부 전산화 단층촬영술이 진단에 어느 정도의 신뢰성을 보이는지 비교, 연구하였다. 방 법 : 2002년 9월부터 2004년 9월까지 임상적 소견 및 나선형 흉부 전산화 단층촬영을 통해 폐색전증을 의심하거나 진단하였던 환자 64명을 대상으로 하였다. 진단시의 임상적 소견은 Wells 등의 "Rules for predicting the probability of embolism"을 기준으로 하여 평가하였다. 진단 당시 시행한 나선형 흉부 전산화 단층촬영 소견은 2명의 흉부 방사선과 의사가 독립적이고 맹검의 방식으로 각 병변의 해부학적 위치 및 진단적 근거에 대해 재판독을 시행하였다. 결 과 : 임상적 가능성에 대한 총 점수의 평균값은 $3.91{\pm}0.30$ (0-9)였고 저확률군은 9례, 중등도 확률군은 36례, 고확률군은 5례 였다. 관찰자간의 일치율은 주폐동맥에서 95.0%, 엽폐동맥에서 85.0%, 분절 폐동맥에서 91.2% 및 아분절 폐동맥에서 96.0%를 보였다. 두 관찰자 모두에서 음성소견을 보인 분지를 제외한 후의 일치율은 주폐동맥에서 76.2% (kappa 0.83), 엽폐동맥에서 57.6% (kappa 0.63), 분절 폐동맥에서 51.5% (kappa 0.63) 및 아분절 폐동맥에서 34.6% (kappa 0.49)를 보였다. 결 론 : 폐색전증이 의심되는 경우 진단에 일차적으로 이용되고 있는 나선형 흉부 전산화 단층촬영은 주폐동맥, 엽폐동맥 및 분절 폐동맥에서 관찰자간의 일치율이 높아 신뢰할 수 있는 검사법으로 비교적 신속하고 정확하나 아분절 폐동맥 이하의 작은 폐동맥은 진단적 오차가 커질 수 있다.

경계부재내 횡보강근 배근방법에 따른 R/C전단벽의 반복하중에 대한 이력거동 (Hysteretic Behavior of R/C Shear Wall with Various Lateral Reinforcements in Boundary Columns for Cyclic Lateral Load)

  • 이 연구에서는 경계부재내에 다양한 형태의 횡보강근 상세를 가진 전단벽에 대한 실험연구를 다루고자 한다. 연구의 주요 내용은 시공성 개선을 위해 사각나선 횡보강근과 헤드가 있는 크로스타이로 전단벽의 경계부재내 콘크리트를 구속함에 따른 거동을 실험적으로 관찰하는 것이다. 이 두 가지 상세는 공장에서 제작된 후 현장에서 조립만 할 경우, 현장작업량을 줄일 수 있는 상세로 고려될 수 있으며, 이 연구에서는 이 두 가지 상세를 가진 전단벽에 대한 구조성능을 구명하고자 한다. 실험의 주요변수는 경계부재내 횡보강근의 형태로서 기존의 띠철근, 사각나선근, 그리고 기존 크로스타이와 헤드가 있는 크로스타이를 사용한 경우로서, 총 4개의 바벨형상의 전단벽 실험체를 제작하고 일정 축력 아래에서 반복하중 실험을 통하여 그 성능을 평가한다. 콘크리트 공칭강도의 10%의 일정축력 작용상태에서 횡방향 반복가력을 실시하여 구조성능을 평가한다. 실험 결과 전단벽의 경계부재내 시공성 개선을 위해 제안된 사각나선근과 기계적 정착장치를 사용함으로써 재래의 보강방법과 거의 동등한 구조성능을 확보할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 띠철근의 직경이 크고 횡보강근의 체적비가 다소 높은 SW-Hh시험체가 항복 이후 균열이 닫힌 다음 강성이 높아짐으로 인하여 전체적인 소산에너지 면적이 다른 시험체에 비하여 높게 나타났으나 최대강도 도달 이후 내력이 다소 급격히 저하되는 것으로 나타나 강도와 연성의 확보측면에서 횡보강근의 체적비와 함께 간격에 대한 고려가 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

반복 횡하중을 받는 원형 철근콘크리트 기둥의 Helical Bar 보강효과에 대한 연구 (Study on Reinforcement Effect of Circular RC Columns by Helical Bar Under Cyclic Lateral Load)

  • 본 연구에서는 1992년 도로교설계기준의 내진설계도입 이전 규정에 따라 설계, 시공된 교각의 축소 모델을 실험체로 제작하여 원형기둥의 변위비에 따른 횡하중을 변위제어 방식으로 입력하여 준정적 방법을 통해 실험을 실시하였다. 연구에 적용한 보강재는 성능을 향상시킨 무기계 합금강인 Helical Bar로써 원형기둥 외부에 보강 후 실내실험을 통하여 파괴거동, 하중-변위 관계, 연성도 평가 및 에너지 평가를 실시하였다. 실험변수로는 위험단면 내에서 나선으로 보강한 보강재의 단면력의 크기와 나선보강의 간격, 보강형태로 두었으며, 준정적 실험을 통해 보강성능의 차이와 효과를 확인하였다. 실험결과 보강대상 부재의 성능에 따라 적절한 보강재의 단면력 크기결정과 보강간격 및 형식의 선정이 필요하며 기계적 보강재뿐만 아니라 고강도 콘크리트 피복으로의 치환으로도 보강성능이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

How are S0 galaxies formed? A case of the Sombrero galaxy

  • S0 galaxies are mostly known to be formed in dense environments from spiral progenitors. Recently, however, a new formation scenario has been suggested that field S0s can be formed from elliptical progenitors. The Sombrero galaxy (M104, NGC 4594) is a massive disk galaxy located in the field environment, and its morphological type has been controversial from Sa to E. Thus, it is an ideal target to test the new scenario. We trace the giant halo of M104 with globular clusters to test this scenario. From the wide images obtained with CFHT/MegaCam, we find a large number of globular clusters in this galaxy. We also confirm their membership by measuring the radial velocities from the spectra obtained with MMT/Hectospec. The color distribution of these globular clusters is bimodal, and blue (metal-poor) globular clusters are more spatially widely spread than red (metal-rich) globular clusters. This indicates that M104 hosts a giant metal-poor halo as well as an inner metal-rich halo. Combining this result with the fact that M104 is unusually massive and brighter than other spiral galaxies, we infer that M104 was indeed a massive elliptical galaxy that had formed a metal-rich halo by gas-rich mergers and a metal-poor halo by gas-poor mergers. In addition, we find young star clusters around the disk of M104, which shows that the disk formed after the spheroidal halos had formed. In conclusion, we suggest that M104 was originally a massive elliptical galaxy and was transformed to a lenticular galaxy by acquiring its disk later.

부산 404호의 조종성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Maneuverabilities of the M . S . Pusan 404-Tests by a Series of Turning Circles , New Course Keeping and Spiral)

  • Generally a navigator evaluated the maneuverability of his ship by the scale of turning circle which was described only by the largest rudder angle of the port and starboard sides. But to have the sufficient knowledge of his ship's maneuvering characteristics he should consider the data about the new course keeping test, the spiral test, and the turning circle tests in accordance with the rudder angles together. In this paper the author performed the above tests to study the maneuverability of the stern trawler M.S. Pusan 404 which is a training ship of the National Fisheries University of Pusan. The obtained results are summarized as follows: 1. When the rudder angles being 5。, 10。, 20。, 30。, 35。 the advances of the starboard side turning circles were 12.8, 8.2, 4.8, 2.9, 2.7 times as large as the length of the ship, and of the port side turning circles were 13.3, 8.7, 5.4, 3.5, 2.9, time as large as the large as it. Under the same conditions the tactical diameters were 15.1, 9.7, 5.2, 3.1, 2.8 times as large as the length of the ship, for starboard side, and 17.2, 12.4, 6.4, 3.7, 3.2 times as large as it for port side. 2. As the rudder angle being increased the ratio of the advance to the tactical diameter was nearly 1 and her obeying ability was better than that of the small angle. 3. The mean values of the rates of speed reduction during the steady turning motion were 0.96, 0.92, 0.82, 0.71, 0.65 in accordance with the rudder angles. 4. The relative formulas between the distance to the new course y and the altering course x were as follows: When rudder angles being 10。, 20。, 30。, y=52.2222+1.6133x, y=48.750+0.9383x, y=39.250+0.655x respectively. 5. There was little difference of the distance to the new course between rudder angle 20。and 30。, and so it is desirable for a navigator to a navigator to use the small rudder angles unless sudden emergencies. 6. Though her rudder angle being small her course stability was good according to the spiral tests.

Mg-Al 합금의 크리프 거동에 미치는 합금원소의 영향 (Effect of Alloying Elements on Creep Behavior of Mg-Al Alloys)

  • In this study, three magnesium alloys were investigated; those are 1.5wt.% CaO added AM80, 1.0wt.% CaO added AM60, and conventional MRI153 alloys. Test specimens of three alloys were prepared by re-melting and casting into steel mold with ingots and machining. The mechanical properties and the creep behavior at 150 degrees Celsius of these specimens were determined and their microstructures were characterized using OM and SEM. For the application to die-casting, fluidity test were carried out with spiral mold. Compared with 1.0wt.% CaO added AM60 alloy, 1.5wt.% CaO added AM80 alloy exhibited good creep properties in all test conditions. Moreover, CaO added alloys showed better creep properties than MRI153 alloy at lower load condition. It is proposed that 1.5wt.% CaO added AM80 alloy is useful to apply to power-train parts such as transmission case in vehicles.

A Simulator Study on Yaw-checking and Coursekeeping Ability in IMO's Ship Manoeuvrability Standards

  • Yaw-checking and course-keeping ability in IMO's ship rnanoeuvrability standards is reviewed from the viewpoint of safe navigation. Three kinds of virtual series-ships, which have different course instability, are taken as test models. The numerical simulation on Z-test is carried out in order to examine the correlation between known manoeuvrability in spiral characteristics and various kinds of overshoot angle. Then simulator experiments are executed with series-ships in a curved, narrow waterway by five pilots in order to examine the correlation between known manoeuvrability and degree of manoeuvring difficulty. IMO criteria for yaw-checking and course-keeping ability are discussed and new criteria are proposed.
