웨트클리닝이 양모, 레이온 직물의 치수 안정성과 세탁성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Wet Cleaning on Shrinkage and Detergency of Wool and Rayon Fabrics)

  • This study focuses on the optimal washing conditions for dry cleaning recommended fabrics to minimize dimensional changes using wet cleaning. We suggest water-based alternatives to a perchloroethylene based cleaning process. Wool and rayon fabrics were laundered under various washing conditions and then air-dried for 24hrs. All specimens were extended after spinning and shrunk after drying. This is probably because the fibers were swollen and extended by wetting. The wool fabrics were shown to be acutely influenced by washing temperature and mechanical force. The optimal washing conditions for wool fabric to minimize the dimensional change implied a normal washing temperature and minimized mechanical force. For rayon specimens, dimensional change by a hand wash showed a remarkable decrease compared with a machine wash. Rayon fabric seemed to be influenced by the quantity of water contained in the fabric after spinning and washing time. Therefore, the desirable washing conditions for rayon fabric are to reduce the time required for washing and to increase the spin speed.

  • Toroidally-wound brushless direct-current (BLOC) machines are compact, highly efficient, and can work across a large magnetic gap. For these reasons, they have been used in pumps, flywheel energy storage systems and left ventricular assist devices among others. The common feature of these systems is a spinning rotor supported by a set of (either mechanical or magnetic) bearings. From the view point of dynamics, it is desirable to increase the first critical speed of the rotor so that it can run at a higher operating speed. The first critical speed of the rotor is determined by the radial stiffnesses of the bearings and the rotor mass. The motor also affects the first critical speed if the rotor is displaced from the rotating center. In this paper, we analytically derive the flux density distribution in a toroidally-wound BLOC machine and also derive the negative stiffness of the motor, based on the assumption that the rotor displacement perturbs the flux density distribution linearly. The estimated negative stiffness is validated by finite element analyses.

  • Human experts have the various own knowledges to be applied in specialized domains. The fact that knowledge itself becomes more critical in the context of textile knowledge with rapid development of new fibers, automated equipments, processes and applications. Diversity of worsted spun yarns, lack of human expertise, and inconsistency among manually generated process plans in consequency of adjustment machine parameters owing to change up raw materials frequently increase the necessity of developing computer aided process planning(CAPP) systems for spinning process. Expert systems offer one of techniques to develop CAPP systems which would behave in a knowledgeable manner. Expert systems are the problem-solving computer program that can reach a level of performance comparable to that of a human expert in some specialized problem domain. This paper is described as job justification module. The job justification module performs to consult with users on which worsted spun yarn manufacturing process planning under the various factors, e.g., raw materials, machine parameters and required yarn counts. Also, the developed module informs the various knowledges relevant process planning. The job justification module offers the control parameters at each process and includes the various standard process plans as database. These knowledges are generated by facts and rules within rule bases.

  • We present the analysis and design of a new six degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism, Eclipse-II, which can be used as a basis for general motion simulators. This mechanism allows x, y and z-axis translations and a, b and c-axis rotations. Most significantly, it presents the advantage of enabling continuous 360 degrees spinning of the platform. We first describe the computational procedures for the forward and in inverse kinematics of the Eclipse-II. Next, the complete singularity analysis is presented for the two cases of end-effector and actuator singularities. Two additional actuators are added to the original mechanism to eliminate both types of singularities with in the workspace. Some practical aspects of the prototype development are introduced.

Mechanical properties, Biodegradability and Biocompatibility of Coronary Bypass Artery with PCL Layer and PLGA/Chitosan Mats Using Electrospinning

  • A coronary graft fabricated from PLGA poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) and chitosan electros puns deposited on poly caprolactone (PCL) electro spun tube. Mechanical properties of tube were evaluated through extruder machine depending on thickness of vessel wall. Biocompatible properties were evaluated by SEM morphology, amount of cell counting and MTT assay method for depending on culture days (1, 3, 5 days). MTT assay, counting cell and SEM morphology showed that cells were fast growth and immigration after 5 days. Biodegradability was monitored through loss weigh method for incubator days.

Bis[3-(triethoxysilylpropyl)]tetrasulfide에 의한 실리카 입자의 표면개질 반응과 SBR 나노 복합체 응용 (Modification of Silica Nanoparticles with Bis[3-(triethoxysilylpropyl)]tetrasulfide and Their Application for SBR Nanocomposite)

  • 본 연구에서는 실리카 나노 입자의 표면개질을 위해 실란 커플링제인 bis[3-(triethoxysilylpropyl)]tetrasulfide(TESPT)를 사용하여 표면개질 반응을 수행하였다. 반응온도, 반응시간 및 TESPT 투입량의 변화가 실리카 표면개질 반응에 미치는 영향을 Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), elemental analysis(EA) 및 고체 $^{13}C$$^{29}Si$ cross-polarization magic angle spinning(CP/MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(NMR)를 사용하여 분석하였다. 실리카 대비 투입되는 TESPT의 투입량을 증가시킬수록 $3746cm^{-1}$의 실리카의 고립 실란올(isolated) 피크의 세기는 줄어들었고, $2938cm^{-1}$의 TESPT의 $-CH_2$기에 의한 피크의 세기는 증가하였다. 또한 TESPT로 표면 개질된 실리카가 SBR 복합체의 기계적 물성에 미치는 영향과 SBR 기질 내에서 실란 커플링제로 표면 처리된 실리카의 분산정도를 universal testing machine(UTM)과 field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM)를 이용하여 각각 측정하였다. 실험 결과 개질되지 않은 본래(pristine) 실리카를 20 phr(parts per hundred of rubber) 넣은 SBR 나노복합체에 비해 개질된 실리카 20 phr를 넣은 SBR 복합체의 인장강도는 5.65에서 9.38 MPa, 100% modulus는 1.62에서 2.73 MPa로 각각 증가하였으나, 파괴점 신장률은 349.6에서 298.9%로 조금 감소되었으며, SBR 기질 내의 실리카 분산성은 TESPT로 처리된 실리카가 본래 실리카에 비해 우수하였다.

  • Gears are produced through a variety of methods. In general, a metal piece is formed into the general shape of a gear through rough cuts. The gear then moves on to a more precise machine that removes more material. Grinders work via abrasion, rubbing a rough surface against a work piece at such high speeds that it literally scrapes unwanted material away from the item. Since the grinder is spinning so fast, the material is removed very quickly. This allows a grinder to remove a very small amount without taking any unwanted material with it. This study investigates the effect of grinding process parameters like grinding spindle speed and table transfer speed on the gear grade and grinding efficiency.

Fabrication and Characteristics of Chitosan Non-woven Fabric developed using only water as plasticizer

  • This article describes a method for producing chitosan non-woven fabrics by just hot pressing without the use of a binder. A study has been made of the wet spinning of chitosan fiber. The fibers were rinsed thoroughly in running water and chopped wet into staples of with a length of approximately 5-10 mm. The chopped chitosan staples were dispersed uniformly in water and fabricated using a non-woven making machine. This study examined the formation and the characteristics of chitosan non-woven fabrics manufactured by hot pressing without the use of a binder. The effects of the non-woven fabrication conditions on the thermal, morphological, structural, and physical properties of chitosan non-woven fabric with and without water as a plasticizer were studied. The temperature of the exothermic peak, decomposition of chitosan fibers increased with increasing heating rate. Water in the chitosan fiber effectively plasticized the chitosan fiber. The thermal bonded structure of the wet chitosan fiber with water as a plasticizer was clearly found in many parts of the non-woven fabric at a fabrication temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. The intensity and profile of the (100) plane($2{\theta}=10.2^{\circ}$) and (040) plane($2{\theta}=20.9^{\circ}$) in the chitosan non-woven fabric decreases and became smooth in the non-woven fabric formation by melting.

Optimal Condition of Natural Silk 3D Matrix Production by Silkworm Spinning

  • Silk is appealing materials for many biomedical applications involving tissue engineering and implantable devices, because of its biocompatibility, environmental stability, controlled proteolytic biodegradability and morphologic flexibility. Silk matrix is required for the treatment of a wide wound area, but the present silk matrix is made by the second processing, and thus, the labor and the cost are high. In this work, we investigated the optimal production condition of natural silk 3D matrix using the silkworms and invented Automatic Silk Matrix Making Machine (ASMMM) for natural silk 3D matrix production. As a result, we determined that optimal production condition for making A4 paper size natural silk 3D matrix was used Rough aquarelle paper on surface at $25^{\circ}C$ and 30 silkworm larvae. These results are expected to provide basic data for the efficient production of the natural silk 3D matrix, and it is suggested that the produced natural silk 3D matrix is useful as a medical biomaterials.

Comparison between Basic and Inverse Dual Drug and Peptide-coated Stents in a Porcine Restenosis Model

  • Dual drug-eluting stents (DES) is a primary treatment method for coronary arterial diseases in current interventional cardiology practice. However, their pathological results according to the sequence of coating of drugs have not been reported yet. The peptide-dopamine dissolved in acetonitrile was coated onto the Chonnam National University Hospital (CNUH) stent using an electrospinning coating machine. For secondary coating (e.g., sirolimus coating, designated as SPS), sirolimus (SRL) and poly lactic-glycolic acid (PLGA) were mixed in tetrahydrofuran (THF), and the solution was then coated on the CNUH stent that had underwent the primary peptide coating using an electrospinning and spray technique. Next, the peptide-dopamine was coated on the SRL-PLGA coated stent (PSS). In this study, it was confirmed that endothelialization was promoted without being significantly affected by the coating order (SPS or PSS). The sequence of drug and peptide coating may affect the development of restenosis and PSS was effective in the prevention of restenosis compared to that of using SPS.
