We chose Bessel beamu[$J_o(ar)}$)l in order to investigate image forming property of the optical system with combined filter of amplitude and phase(CFAP). This paper investigated numerically the influence of number of nodes of these beams on the PSF, encircled energy(E), transmission ratio(TR), gain((;) for an aberrated(1aberration-free) optical system. These results showed that the property of PSF differ considerably from the one of the existing amplitude filter and that Bessel beam has super compensating effect for an optical system with spherical aberration. Particularly, the Bessel beam has less the size of central spot than the radius of Airy disk, this result can therefore be applied to the fabrication of semiconductor device.

To measure laminar burning velocity in methane/air/ethylene mixture flame, propagating centrally ignited spherical premixed flame to radial direction was measured by high-speed schlieren images with elevated pressure. In this study, The experimentally measured unstretched laminar burning velocities of methane was compared with GRI mech 3.0 to validate experimental data and choose the radius range, respectively. numerical prediction using the PREMIX code with GRI mech 3.0, USC mech II,, and Wang mech were evaluated through comparison with experimental burning velocity with consideration of extrapolation on linear/nonlinear model.
The shock wave discharged from an annular duct leads to very complicated flow features, such as Mach stem, spherical waves, and vortex rings. In the current study, the merging phenomenon and propagation characteristics of the shock wave are numerically investigated using a CFD method. The Harten-Yee's total variation diminishing (TVD) scheme is used to the unsteady, axisymmetric, two-dimensional, compressible Euler equations. The Mach number of incident shock wave $M_s$ is varied in the range below 2.0. The computational results are visualized to observe the major features of the annular shock waves discharged from the tube. On the symmetric axis, the peak pressure produced by the shock wave and its location depend upon strongly the radius of the annular tubes. A Mach stem is generated along the symmetric axis of the annular tubes.
Linear and nonlinear optical properties of CuCl nanocrystals in silica glass have been studied using low temperature absorption, degenerate four wave mixing (DFWM), and time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. Assuming a spherical shape, effective radius of the CuCl quantum dots was estimated to be 2.5 nm, which is obtained from low temperature absorption data. The DFWM experiment was performed in 380-386 nm wavelength region, and the diffracted signal was measured as a function of wavelength with 1.0 nm interval. Time-resolved photoluminescence measurement was also carried out at 77 K to obtain the time response of CuCl nanocrystals. The experimental results on the large third order nonlinear optical of CuCl quantum dots are explained in terms of crystal size and oscillator strength of quantum spheres.
Let ${\mathbb{H}}^5$ be the 5-dimensional Heisenberg group equipped with a left-invariant metric. In this paper we calculate the volumes of geodesic balls in ${\mathbb{H}}^5$. Let $B_e(R)$ be the geodesic ball with center e (the identity of ${\mathbb{H}}^5$) and radius R in ${\mathbb{H}}^5$. Then, the volume of $B_e(R)$ is given by $${\hfill{12}}Vol(B_e(R))\\{={\frac{4{\pi}^2}{6!}}{\left(p_1(R)+p_4(R){\sin}\;R+p_5(R){\cos}\;R+p_6(R){\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_0}^R}{\frac{{\sin}\;t}{t}}dt\right.}\\{\left.{\hfill{65}}{+q_4(R){\sin}(2R)+q_5(R){\cos}(2R)+q_6(R){\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_0}^{2R}}{\frac{{\sin}\;t}{t}}dt}\right)}$$ where $p_n$ and $q_n$ are polynomials with degree n.

Due to the fact that the nonlinear low-velocity impact response of graphene platelets reinforced metal foams (GPLRMF) doubly curved shells have not been investigated in the existing works, this paper aims to solve this issue. Using Reddy's high-order shear deformation theory (HSDT), the nonlinear governing equations of GPLRMF doubly curved shells are obtained by Euler-Lagrange method, discretized by Galerkin principle, and solved by the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method to obtain the impact force and central deflection. The nonlinear Hertz contact law is applied to determine the contact force. Finally, the impacts of graphene platelets (GPLs) distribution pattern, porosity distribution form, porosity coefficient, damping coefficient, impact parameters (radius and initial velocity), GPLs weight fraction, pre-stressing force and different shell types on the low-velocity impact curves are analyzed. It can be found that, among the four shell structures, the impact resistance of spherical shell is the best, while that of cylindrical shell is the worst.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the distribution and change of curvature of the anterior corneal surface with age in emmetropia. 504 subjects who have emmetroia with good naked vision of at least 0.6-1.0 (spherical equivalent: +0.75D- -0.75D) participated in this study. The 504 subjects into 8 groups with 10 year interval from 3-year to 83-year, and their corneal curvatures were analyzed using manual keratometry. The results are as follows. In individual analysis: First, regression analysis of corneal curvature radius with age has given an equation: Y = -0.003x + 7.796 (r = -0.26). The average corneal curvature radii was measured to be $7.68{\pm}0.25mm$ at 38.3-year and range was 6.98-8.54 mm. Second, frequency of corneal curvature radius were obtained in 36% between 7.61 and 7.80 mm, 78% between 7.41 and 8.00 mm, 96% between 7.21 and 8.20 mm, 100% between 6.98 and 8.54 mm. Third, as for the comparison of corneal curvature radius with respect to sex, The mean value of male (n = 304, mean: 37.6-year $7.72{\pm}0.24mm$, Range: 7.09-8.54 mm) is larger than that of female (n = 200, mean: 39.3-year $7.62{\pm}0.24mm$, Range: 6.98-8.42 mm) by 0.1mm (p<0.01). In groups analysis: First, regression analysis of corneal curvature radius with age has given an equation: $Y=-0.0066x^2+0.0227x+7.7282$ (r = -0.90). Second, vertical and horizontal curvature radius decreased with age (p < 0.01). Especially the decrease of horizontal curvature radius were more pronounced than the decrease of vertical (horizontal:10-70 age group: 0.38 mm decrease, vertical:10-70 age group: 0.20 mm decrease). Third, difference between steep and flat meridian (astigmatism) progressively decreased with age. (low age group:0.18 mm difference, high age group: 0.08 mm difference). Fourth, the corneal curvature radius of male was larger than female's in total groups(p < 0.01). Consequently, the change of corneal curvature radius with age progressively decreased in all conditions (mean, vertical, horizontal, male, and female) and this change was more outstanding in horizontal rather than in vertical.

This paper describes a novel method to surface large optics mirror with an extremely high hardness, which could replace the high cost of the repetitive off-line measurement steps and the large ultra-precision grinding machine with ultra-positioning control of 10 nm resolution. A lot of diamond pellet to be attached on the convex aluminum base consists of a grinding tool for the concave large mirror, and the tool was pressured down on the large mirror blank. The tool motion at an interval on the spiral path was controlled with each feed rate as the dwell time in the conventional computer-controlled polishing. The shape to be surfaced was measured directly by a touch probe on the machine without any separation of the mirror blank. Total 40 iterative steps of the surfacing and measurement could demonstrate the form error of RMS $7.8{\mu}m$, surface roughness of Ra $0.2{\mu}m$ for the mirror blank with diameter of 1 m and spherical radius of curvature of 5400 mm.

Retroreflection of vehicle headlights, as induced by spherical glass beads, is a key optical phenomenon that provides road-surface markings with greatly enhanced visibility, thus better securing a driver's safety in the nighttime as well as in unclear daytime. Retroreflectance of glass beads is a quite sensitive function of their refractive index, so that measurement of the refractive index of glass specifically in the shape of spherical beads needs to be performed within a reasonable uncertainty that is tolerable for road-marking applications. The Becke line method has been applied in assessing refractive index of such glass beads as e.g. an industrial standard in the Republic of Korea; however, the reference refractive-index liquids are not commercially available these days for refractive index greater than 1.80 due to the toxicity of the constituent materials. As such, high-refractive-index glass beads require an alternate method, and in this regard we propose a practically serviceable technique with uncertainty tantamount to that of the Becke line method: Based on comparison of calculated and measured retroreflectance values of commercial glass beads, we discover that their refractive index can be determined with reasonable precision via the retroreflectance measurement. Specifically, in this study the normalized retroreflectance originating from a single glass sphere is computed as a function of refractive index using the Fresnel equations, which is then validated as coinciding well with retroreflectance values measured from actual specimens, i.e. glass-bead aggregates. The uncertainties involved are delineated in connection with radius and imperfections of the glass beads.
This study concluded the results of a research on the features of cement based permeation grout, based on some important grout parameters, such as the rheological properties (yield stress and viscosity), coefficient of permeability to grout ($k_G$) and the inject ability of cement grout (N and $N_c$ assessment), which govern the performance of cement based permeation grouting in porous media. Due to the limited knowledge of these important grout parameters and other influencing factors (filtration pressure, rate and time of injection and the grout volume) used in the field work, the application of cement based permeation grouting is still largely a trial and error process in the current practice, especially in the local construction industry. It is seen possible to use simple formulas in order to select the injection parameters and to evaluate their inter-relationship, as well as to optimize injection spacing and times with respect to injection source dimensions and in-situ permeability. The validity of spherical and cylindrical flow model was not verified by any past research works covered in the literature review. Therefore, a theoretical investigation including grout flow models and significant grout parameters for the design of permeation grouting was conducted in this study. This two grout flow models were applied for three grout mixes prepared for w/c=0.75, w/c=1.00 and w/c=1.25 in this study. The relations between injection times, radius, pump pressure and flow rate for both flow models were investigated and the results were presented. Furthermore, in order to investigate these two flow model, some rheological properties of the grout mixes, particle size distribution of the cement used in this study and some geotechnical properties of the sand used in this work were defined and presented.
