TIn this paper, a centering method for an unfocused input character using the spherical domain system and the centering character to use the shift invariant feature for the recognition system is proposed. A system for recognition is implemented using the centroid method with coordinate average values, and the results of an above 78.14% average differential ratio for the character features were obtained. It is possible to extract the shift invariant feature using spherical transformation similar to the human eyeball. The proposed method, which is feature extraction using spherical coordinate transform and transformed extracted data, makes it possible to move the character to the center position of the input plane. Both digital and optical technologies are mixed using a spherical coordinate similar to the 3 dimensional human eyeball for the 2 dimensional plane format. In this paper, a centering character feature using the spherical domain is proposed for character recognition, and possibilities for the recognized possible character shape as well as calculating the differential ratio of the centered character using a centroid method are suggested.
The technical development and practical applications of big-data for health is one hot topic under the banner of big-data. Big-data medical image fusion is one of key problems. A new fusion approach with coding based on Spherical Coordinate Domain (SCD) in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for big-data medical image is proposed in this paper. In this approach, the three high-frequency coefficients in wavelet domain of medical image are pre-processed. This pre-processing strategy can reduce the redundant ratio of big-data medical image. Firstly, the high-frequency coefficients are transformed to the spherical coordinate domain to reduce the correlation in the same scale. Then, a multi-scale model product (MSMP) is used to control the shrinkage function so as to make the small wavelet coefficients and some noise removed. The high-frequency parts in spherical coordinate domain are coded by improved SPIHT algorithm. Finally, based on the multi-scale edge of medical image, it can be fused and reconstructed. Experimental results indicate the novel approach is effective and very useful for transmission of big-data medical image(especially, in the wireless environment).

In this paper, the resonance characteristics and radiation characteristics of a spherical patch on a dielectric sphere are analyzed. Resonance characteristics can be obtained from the resonant frequency and the quality factor. Radiation characteristics can be also analyzed from the E-field in the far region. In order to calculate these parameters, spectral domain analysis method is applied. Algebraic equation can be obtained in spectral domain through Vector Legendre transform pair and Galerkin's method. So, efficient calculation is possible numerically. It is investigated that radius, curvature of a spherical patch, and dielectric constant of a dielectric sphere have an effect on characteristics of a spherical patch.

The classical image reconstruction for stripmap SAR is based on the Fresnel approximation which utilizes deramping or chirp deconvolution in the synthetic aperture(slow-time) domain. Another approach in formulating stripmap SAR processing and imaging is based on the SAR wavefront reconsturction theory, and analysis of the SAR signal in the slow-time via the spherical wave Fourier decomposition of the radar radiation pattern. In this paper, we compare the Fresnel approximation and the wavefrong reconstruction methods using simulated stripmap SAR dada.

An anatomical head and a multi-layered spherical head with a half-wave handset antenna have been analysed and compared using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) and the Eigenfuntion Expansion Method (EEM), respectively. The analysis shows that results from a simple spherical head with a half-wave antenna can be used to predict the main antenna radiation patters as well as estimates of the peak SAR in a handset user's head. Various representative design data are presented using a six-layered spherical head with a half-wave antenna at 900 MHz

In this paper, it is proposed hew the rigid element method suggested in the first paper can be applied to the elastic and elasto-plastic analysis of spherical shell with the open stiff ring. In the analytical model, the solution domain is divided into rectangular-shaped spherical bending elements. Each contact surface of two adjacent elements is interconnected with four elastic springs, and it is assumed that the internal forces are distritributed into springs. The 6 degrees of freedom of the element are placed in the center of elements, and the 6 cen-teroidal rigid displacements affect other elements through springs around elements. And then the solution domain is estimated by the behavior of elements and springs. In this study, these concepts are applied to the elastic and elasto-plastic analysis for the eight cases of the spherical shell according to the condition of stiff ring, the condion of loading and the size of opening. And then some numerical results such as the distribution of stresses, the force-displacement curves and the mode of fractures will he shown.

An approach to 3D visualization of multiple sound sources has been developed with the application of a moving array technique. Frequency-domain beamforming algorithm is used to generate a beam power map and the sound source is modeled as a point source. When a conventional delay and sum beamformer is used, it is considered that 2D distribution of sensors leads to have deficiency in spatial resolution along a measurement distance. The goal of moving an array in this study is to form 3D array aperture surrounding multiple sound sources so that the improved spatial resolution in a virtual space can be expected. Numerical simulation was made to examine source localization capabilities of various shapes of array. The 3D beam power maps of hemispherical and spherical distribution are found to have very sharp resolution. For experiments, two sound sources were placed in the middle of defined virtual space and arc-shaped line array was rotated around the sources. It is observed that spherical array show the most accurate determination of multiple sources' positions.

Two dimensional finite element method with quadrilateral basis functions was applied to the spherical high order filter on the spherical surface limited area domain. The basis function consists of four shape functions which are defined on separate four grid boxes sharing the same gridpoint. With the basis functions, the first order derivative was expressed as an algebraic equation associated with nine point stencil. As the theory depicts, the convergence rate of the error for the spherical Laplacian operator was found to be fourth order, while it was the second order for the spherical Laplacian operator. The accuracy of the new high order filter was shown to be almost the same as those of Fourier finite element high order filter. The two-dimension finite element high order filter was incorporated in the weather research and forecasting (WRF) model as a hyper viscosity. The effect of the high order filter was compared with the built-in viscosity scheme of the WRF model. It was revealed that the high order filter performed better than the built in viscosity scheme did in providing a sharper cutoff of small scale disturbances without affecting the large scale field. Simulation of the tropical cyclone track and intensity with the high order filter showed a forecast performance comparable to the built in viscosity scheme. However, the predicted amount and spatial distribution of the rainfall for the simulation with the high order filter was closer to the observed values than the case of built in viscosity scheme.
Sampling rates become inconsistent when spatial data in the spherical coordinate are resampled with respect to latitudinal or longitudinal degree for mathematical processes such as Fourier Transform, and this results in distortions of the processed data in the wavenumber domain. These distortions are more evident in the polar regions. An example is presented to show such distortions during the recovery process of free-air gravity anomalies from ERS-1 satellite radar altimeter data from the Barents Sea in the Russian Arctic, and a method is presented to minimize the distortion using the Lambert Conformal Conic map projection. This approach was found to enhance the free-air gravity anomalies in both data and wavenumber domains.
