결합형 속도 & 수심 측정기 고찰 (Development of a New Cost-Effective Alignment Method for Speed Log and Echo Sounder System)

  • Speed log measurement has always been of utmost importance to the mariners. To date the most accurate maritime speed measurement comes from Doppler measurement, where speed may be measured relative to either water(speed through water) or seabed(speed over ground). Recently, a clarification has been issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regarding the speed measuring devices, which could ultimately impact the final arrangement of these devices for ships being constructed after July 1, 2014. This paper will discuss the clarification in depth and necessary action which shall be taken by the owners and operators of the ships impacted.

  • MAP 알고리즘은 터보코드의 최적 복호알고리즘으로 알려져 있지만, 연산의 복잡도가 매우 크다. 이러한 MAP 방식의 단점을 개선하기 위하여 일반적으로 log-MAP 알고리즘을 이용하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 log-MAP 복호기에서 비교적 연산량이 크고 동작속도에 큰 영향을 미치는 상태 메트릭 계산 블록의 연산 속도를 향상시킨 개선된 구조를 제안하고, LUT(Lookup Table)을 이용하지 않고 간단한 연산에 의해 보상하는 linear 보상기를 제안하여 동작속도를 개선하였다.

Evaluation of wind loads and the potential of Turkey's south west region by using log-normal and gamma distributions

  • In this study, wind data such as speeds, loads and potential of Muğla which is located in the southwest of Turkey were statistically analyzed. The wind data which consists of hourly wind speed between 2010 and 2013 years, was measured at the 10-meters height in four different ground stations (Datça, Fethiye, Marmaris, Köyceğiz). These stations are operated by The Turkish State Meteorological Service (T.S.M.S). Furthermore, wind data was analyzed by using Log-Normal and Gamma distributions, since these distributions fit better than Weibull, Normal, Exponential and Logistic distributions. Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) and the coefficients of the goodness of fit (R2) were also determined by using statistical analysis. According to the results, extreme wind speed in the research area was 33 m/s at the Datça station. The effective wind load at this speed is 0.68 kN/㎡. The highest mean power densities for Datça, Fethiye, Marmaris and Köyceğiz were found to be 46.2, 1.6, 6.5 and 2.2 W/㎡, respectively. Also, although Log-normal distribution exhibited a good performance i.e., lower AD (Anderson - Darling statistic (AD) values) values, Gamma distribution was found more suitable in the estimation of wind speed and power of the region.

  • 경상대학교 해양과학대학 실습선 경양호 기관의 회전수와 추진기의 핏치각을 전속(全速)(R.P.M. 680, P.A. $18^{\circ}$), 반속(半速)(R.P.M. 640, P.A. $16^{\circ}$), 미속(微速)(R.P.M. 580, P.A. $10^{\circ}$)의 상태로 하고, 이들 각각에 따른 시험선의 트림을 2.45m, 2.15m, 1.45m 선미 트림으로 조정하여 마일 포스트를 왕복하여 도플러 로그의 대지 속력과 실속력을 측정하여 비교 분석한 결과 도플러 로그 지시속력은 트림의 변화에 큰 영향을 받았으나 속력에는 그다지 큰 영향을 미치지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 한편 세 경우 모두 선의 트림이 2.15m 선미 트림 일때 속력 변화의 폭과 오차가 가장 적어 선체가 안정되고, 트림의 순간적 변화가 적으므로 최적의 상태라 할 수 있다. 그리고 미속 전진중 일때 속력 변화의 폭이 가장 크게 나타났는데 이것은 마일 포스트 사이를 통과 하는데 소요되는 시간이 전속, 반속 전진중 일때 보다 많이 소요되므로 그 간에 외력의 영향을 많이 받았기 때문이라 추정되었다. 특히 세 경우 모두 처음 마일 포스트를 통과한 후 약 30초 사이에는 도플러 로그의 지시속력이 저속임과 동시 속력 변화의 폭이 아주 크게 되었다가 그 후는 완만한 속력 변화를 보였는데 이러한 원인은 기관의 회전수와 핏치각을 변화시킨 후 최적의 상태가 되기 이전에 마일 포스트를 통과한 때문이라 생각된다.

직선배열 진동자에 의한 도풀러 로그의 지향특성 개선에 관한 연구 (Improvement of the Directivity of a Doppler Log Using Linear Transducer Array)

  • A doppler log is the typical device which can measure the ship's speed over the ground directly, by means of doppler effect of the underwater ultrasonic wave, which involves the error due to the sea bottom inclination, the trim and the incorrect transducer installation etc. The present doppler log adopts a single transducer, faced in the direction of themain beam, and therefore it is unable to correct the beam direction to eliminate the above mentioned error. Moreover, the frequencyis also limitted in a comparatively high range for getting a sharp beam with single transducer, and the speed over the ground can not be detectable at the deep sea, for an instance, over 200 meters. This paper describes a theoretical consideration for the doppler log error and an analysis by a computer on the observed speed data by a full size model ship. The result is verified that the most of doppler log error is caused by the ultrasonic beam angle of transducer. To eliminate the doppler log error due to the incorrect transducer installation and also to sharpen the beam for lower frequency range to expand measurable sea depth, this paper proposes a method of controlling the directivity adopting a linear transducer array and of controlling the directivity by the control of exciting current, and investigates by the computer simulation and make experiment with magnetostrictive ferrite transducer of 28, 50 and 75KHz. The experimental results are shown well coincide with the measured ones, and they are revealed that in case where the transducer interval is greater than 1 wavelength, the effective control of the beam direction is hardly performed with keeping adequate beam width and side lobe level. It is concluded that 6-elements array with inter element space of a half wavelength can make comparatively sharp beam and low side lobe level. The results obtained here will contribute very much to the improvement of the performance of doppler log.

  • In this paper, a multi-velocity log system which uses ultrasonic pulsed doppler signal is developed. The output of the system is the absoluted velcocity of the ship. By using digitral signal processing, we get the vector velocity which displays the ship's speed about fore, aft, port and starboard. And this system give us the information about depth. This multi-velocity system has a large merit that is bottom and water track velocity. In addition, this has the high accuracy and can measure the water-depth according to the deep mode. And the fish finder, echo sounder or docking system will be made by applying the speed log system.

An Efficient DVS Algorithm for Pinwheel Task Schedules

  • In this paper, we focus on the pinwheel task model with a variable voltage processor with d discrete voltage/speed levels. We propose an intra-task DVS algorithm, which constructs a minimum energy schedule for k tasks in O(d+k log k) time We also give an inter-task DVS algorithm with O(d+n log n) time, where n denotes the number of jobs. Previous approaches solve this problem by generating a canonical schedule beforehand and adjusting the tasks' speed in O(dn log n) or O($n^3$) time. However, the length of a canonical schedule depends on the hyper period of those task periods and is of exponential length in general. In our approach, the tasks with arbitrary periods are first transformed into harmonic periods and then profile their key features. Afterward, an optimal discrete voltage schedule can be computed directly from those features.

  • 최근 대부분의 인터넷 환경이 쳅 기반 시스템으로 발전하면서 웹 서비스 사용자 수는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 따라서 일반 사용자가 대형 포털 사이트 웹 서버 접속시 생성되는 로그 정보를 분석하여 웹 서버에 대한 공격을 탐지하거나 웹 마이닝 기술과 접목하기 위해서는 대용량의 웹 로그 정보에 대한 효율적인 분석 기법이 필요하다. 기존 웹 로그 전처리 기법은 로그 문자열의 순차적인 탐색을 수행하므로 대용량의 웹 로그 고속화 처리에 적합하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 대용량 웹 로그 정보에 대해 B-트리 인덱싱 벡터 구조를 이용하여 필드별 분류 및 고속 검색 알고리즘을 개발하였다 이를 통해 효율적으로 대용량 로고로부터 효율적인 세션 분석 기능과 개선된 검색 성능을 제공할 수 있었으며 웹 서버에 대한 공격 탐지에도 활용할 수 있었다.

Log-Polar Coordinate Image Space for the Efficient Detection of Vanishing Points

  • Log-polar coordinate image space is proposed as a solution for the problem of unbounded accumulator space in the automatic detection of vanishing points. The proposed method can detect vanishing points at high speed under small memory requirements, as opposed to conventional image space based methods.

Algorithm and Design of Double-base Log Encoder for Flash A/D Converters

  • This study proposes a novel double-base log encoder (DBLE) for flash Analog-to-Digital converters (ADCs). Analog inputs of flash ADCs are represented in logarithmic number systems with bases of 2 and 3 at the outputs of DBLE. A look up table stores the sets of exponents of base 2 and 3 values. This algorithm improves the performance of a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) system that takes outputs of a flash ADC, since the double-base log number representation does multiplication operation easily within negligible error range in ADC. We have designed and implemented 6 bits DBLE implemented with ROM (Read-Only Memory) architecture in a $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The power consumption and speed of DBLE are better than the FAT tree and binary ROM encoders at the cost of more chip area. The DBLE can be implemented into SoC architecture with DSP to improve the processing speed.
