Effect of Virtual Reality Exposure and Web-based Cognitive Intervention Integrated Program on Social Anxiety Disorder (발표상황에 대한 가상현실노출과 웹기반 인지적 개입의 통합 프로그램 효과 검증)

  • In this study, the effect of VR exposure programs integrated with web-based cognitive restructuring education on reducing social anxiety was confirmed. The experimental group (n=12) received a 10~15 minute session of web-based cognitive intervention and a 20-minute session of virtual reality exposure therapy. The comparison group (n=15) received a 10~15 minute session of web-based speech education and a 20-minute session of virtual reality exposure therapy. After 4 weeks, the experimental group had an increase in positive interpretation bias, a decrease in negative interpretation bias, and a decreased level of social anxiety. These results suggest that the combination of self-help form of web-based cognitive intervention in the treatment of social anxiety disorder can improve the therapeutic effect of VRET.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the general characteristics, effect size, and qualitative indicators of self-advocacy studies of people with developmental disabilities published in domestic academic journals and theses. For this purpose, among a total of 2153 papers related to self-advocacy published from 2000 to 2023, 41 studies with developmental disabilities as the keyword were selected, and the specific research results are as follows. Based on the results of this study, when developing a language intervention program related to self-advocacy for people with developmental disabilities, it is recommended to develop an intervention program based on the number of sessions of 10-19 in a learning situation with 20-30 people in adolescents and adults, or during the transition period. There are many studies limited to educational aspects such as special education and integrated education, and by applying this, it is hoped that a self-advocacy language intervention program will be developed at the level of language rehabilitation that can effectively and sophisticatedly assert self-assertion and self-rights after experiencing difficulties in communication.

  • In the age of global communication, more human exchange is extended at the grass-roots level. In the old days, language policy and language planning was based on one nation-state with one language. But high waves of globalizaiton have allowed extended human flow of exchange beyond one's national border on a daily basis. Under such circumstances, homogeneity in Japan may not allow Japanese to speak and communicate only in Japanese and only with Japanese people. In Japan, an advisory report was made to the Ministry of Education in June 1996 about what education should be like in the 21st century. In this report, an introduction of English at public elementary schools was for the first time made. A basic policy of English instruction at the elementary school level was revealed. With this concept, English instruction is not required at the elementary school level but each school has their own choice of introducing English as their curriculum starting April 2002. As Baker, Colin (1996) indicates the age of three as being the threshold diving a child becoming bilingual naturally or by formal instruction. Threre is a movement towards making second language acquisition more naturalistic in an educational setting, developing communicative competence in a more or less formal way. From the lesson of the Canadian immersion success, Genesee (1987) stresses the importance of early language instruction. It is clear that from a psycho-linguistic perspective, most children acquire basic communication skills in their first language apparently effortlessly and without systematic and formal instruction during the first six or seven years of life. This innate capacity diminishes with age, thereby making language learning increasingly difficult. The author, being a returnee, experienced considerable difficulty acquiring L2, and especially achieving native-like competence. There will be many hurdles to conquer until Japanese students are able to reach at least a communicative level in English. It has been mentioned that English is not taught to clear the college entrance examination, but to communicate. However, Japanese college entrance examination still makes students focus more on the grammar-translation method. This is expected to shift to a more communication stressed approach. Japan does not have to aim at becoming an official bilingual country, but at least communicative English should be taught at every level in school Mito College is a small two-year co-ed college in Japan. Students at Mito College are basically notgood at English. It has only one department for business and economics, and English is required for all freshmen. It is necessary for me to make my classes enjoyable and attractive so that students can at least get motivated to learn English. My major target is communicative English so that students may be prepared to use English in various business settings. As an experiment to introduce more communicative English, the author has made the following syllabus design. This program aims at training students speak and enjoy English. 90-minute class (only 190-minute session per week is most common in Japanese colleges) is divided into two: The first half is to train students orally using Graded Direct Method. The latter half uses different materials each time so that students can learn and enjoy English culture and language simultaneously. There are no quizes or examinations in my one-academic year program. However, all students are required to make an original English poem by the end of the spring semester. 2-6 students work together in a group on one poem. Students coming to Mito College, Japan have one of the lowest English levels in all of Japan. However, an attached example of one poem made by a group shows that students can improve their creativity as long as they are kept encouraged. At the end of the fall semester, all students are then required individually to make a 3-minute original English speech. An example of that speech contest will be presented at the Convention in Seoul.

Arduino IoT Studio based on 5W1H Programming Model for non Programmer

  • In this paper, we present a 5W1H programming model for IT non-experienced people who are not familiar with computer programming and those who need programming education. Based on this model, we can design a development tool that can be easily programmed by beginners. This development tool is a programming method applying the 5W1H concept and constructs a sentence to satisfy the control condition of 'Who, When, Where, What, and How', which is the sentence element of 5W1H. Therefore, the user can easily develop the target system as if constructing the sentence without learning the programming language of the target system. In this paper, to verify the effectiveness of the 5W1H programming model proposed in this paper, we applied the concept of 5W1H programming to Arduino and developed the development tool and performed the first verification and applied the second verification to the speech recognition smart home development platform.

A Comparative Study on the Romanization of Korean and Japanese with English as the Standard of Pronunciation. (한.일 로마자 표기의 비교연구 - 영어발음기준 -)

  • The two existing romanization systems in Korea, namely the recently promulgated Ministry of Education version sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences incorporating for the most part the McCune-Reischauer system and the Hangeul Haghoe or the Korean Language Society's version, must be judged as failures: He fennel for its disregard of Korean orthography and pronunciation, use of Latin-oriented pronunciation despite its assertion that English is the standard used, and the greatest weakness of all, its use of phonetic symbols neither found in regular typewriters, teleprinters, word processors and telex machines nor understood by laymen, sometimes not even by specialists. And the latter suffers from its undue emphasis on Korean orthography, Latin-oriented pronunciation being only partly capable of representing Korean pronunciation, among other shortcomings. Since the two existing romanization systems of Korean in South Korea, and romanization system of Japanese with Latin-oriented pronunciation are woefully inadequate, in today's world where English is used as if it were the international language almost all over the world, the present writer has invented a completely new system of romanizing Korean and Japanese by the so-called pseudo-phonetic method. This method employs the roman letters only and uses thorn in place of phonetic symbols as long as the letters thus applied are believed to have constant sound value. The English pronunciation is the standard used for this system.

Exploration of Forgiveness Ability in Middle-aged Married Women (중년 기혼여성의 용서수준 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of forgiveness exercised by middle-aged married women. The subjects of the research were 345 married women selected randomly among inhabitants of Seoul. A research questionnaire was employed to gather information. The study results revealed four major patterns. First, they felt hurt by those to whom they were connected continuously in daily life, such as friends, colleagues, siblings, spouses. Second, the respondents stated that they would be very badly hurt and deeply wounded as a result of a hateful speech or suffering experience caused by people of immediate relations. Third, among the three sub-areas of forgiveness, forgiveness in cognitive category was the highest, followed by behavioral and emotional categories. Fourth, as far as the surrounding variables regarding the degree of forgiveness was concerned, physical health and happiness of the family were important while their age, gender, religion, economic levels, experience of forgiving others didn't make a difference at all.

The Current Status of Adult Day Care in Korea - Operation, Staffing, and Service - (노인 주간보호시설의 운영, 인력, 서비스 현황)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the operation, staffing, and services provided at adult day care centers in Korea. Methods: The study was a cross-sectional descriptive survey. The subjects were 209 centers among 280 centers registered in Korea (response rate 74.6%). The data was collected from August to December in 2006. Results: 48.8% of centers were located in a city area. The centers were based on the Social Model 65.5% of the centers were open Monday to Friday, an average of $7{\sim}8$ hours per day Dementia, stroke or frail elderly could use the center, and 57.4% of centers were used for dementia and stroke elderly together. The enrollment of elderly was 13.5. The number of total staff was 8.27, the number of RN's and social workers was 0.67, and 2.54 respectively. The social services(Meal preparation 98.6%, Special event 98.1%, Transportation, 97.1%) were provided more than the health services(Physical therapy 98.1%, ADL training 95.2%, Counseling 84 7%, Vaccination 82.8%, Health monitoring 78.9%, Health education 78.5%, Bathing 66.1%, and Speech therapy 28.2%). Conclusion: These results suggest we have to develop a health-focused adult day health care model based on the needs of elderly and their families. Nurses will have an important role in adult day health care.

Interpersonal Conflicts and Communication among Medical Residents, Nurses and Technologists (전공의와 간호사.의료기사간의 인간관계 갈등과 의사소통에 관한 연구)

  • Through investigating communication contents, extent of conflict, and its causes between medical residents and nurses/technicians, this study will provide the effective communication skills to ease interpersonal conflicts and maintain healthy partner relationships. This is a descriptive study to find out the communication contents, extent of conflicts and its causes between medical residents and nurses/technicians. Data were collected from April $1^{st}$, 2004 to April $8^{th}$, 2004 from 118 medical residents, 288 nurses, 85 radiology technicians and 107 laboratory technicians in 4 university hospitals in Seoul capital region. Data analysis was done with SPSS version 11.0 using descriptive statistics, ANOVA and chi-test. Interpersonal conflict towards medical residents were rated higher by nurses than technicians (Nurses > Technologists = Medical residents). Causes of conflict showed regional differences. In communication contents, all regions showed "Thank you" and "Well done" as most pleasant comments. Medical residents proved other medical residents' negative comments as most unpleasant and nurses and technicians proved residents' commanding phrases, disrespectful speech, and urging comments to be most unpleasant. Communication between the center members of the medical organization is very important in treating patients and understanding each other. For smooth conflict resolutions and maintaining healthy partner relationships, continued education and support for appropriate communication and interpersonal relationship skills is needed.

A Study on the Necessity of Home Visit Rehabilitation Therapy by Rehabilitation Professionals Working at Social Welfare Facilities (사회복지시설에 종사하는 일부 재활전문가들의 방문재활에 대한 필요성 조사)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the necessity of home visit rehabilitation therapy by rehabilitation professionals working at social welfare facilities. Methods: The subjects of this study were 227 rehabilitation professionals (social worker, nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech-language therapist, special education teacher, and staff of institutions for the disabled who were working at community rehabilitation centers. The data were collected over 65 days (2008. 09. 10~11. 14). The results were analysed statistically by the Chi-square test. Results: The results are as follows: Long-term care service was established in Korea by the Ministry of Health in July, 2008. But there are limits to their being able to provide various rehabilitation services for chronic patients and old people. According to a recent survey, almost all rehabilitation professionals (N=227) stated that home visit rehabilitation therapy is necessary. Conclusion: In Korea, the long-term care service has a nursing service and a service supporting physical activities of daily living, but not physical therapy. So, home visit rehabilitation services should include physical therapy, rehabilitation exercise, and pain management.

  • 한국어가 연속적으로 발음될 때 여러 가지 음운 변동현상이 일어난다. 이것은 한국어 연속음성 인식을 어렵게 하는 주요 요인 중의 한가지이다. 본 논문은 음운변동현상이 반영된 음성 인식 문자열을 규칙에 의거하여 text 기반 문자열로 다시 복원시키고 복원 결과 후보들을 형태소 분석하여 유용한 문자열만을 최종 결과로 생성하게 하는 시스템을 구성하였다. 복원은 4가지 rule 즉, 음절 경계 종성 초성 복원 rule, 모음처리 복원 rule, 끝음절 중성 복원 rule, 한 음절처리 rule에 따라 이루어진다. 규칙 적용 과정중에 효과적인 복원을 위해 x-clustering정보를 정의 하여 사용하고, 형태소 분석기에 입력될 복원 후보수를 제한하기 위해 postfix음절 빈도정보를 구하여 사용한다.
