The purpose of this study was to know the state of rehabilitation treatment of stroke, to compare treatment with Bobath therapy or not, establish what factors have influence on treatment effect and hospitalization period and to be a great help for guide of treatment and education of patient and family We analyzed 87 stroke patients retrospectively for the patient's age, the subtype of diagnosis, the period at the start of treatment, the duration of treatment, the duration of hospitalization, the speech problem the co-morbid complication and the ambulatory function at discharge These patients visited the department of rehabilitation medicine, Holy Family Hospital, Catholic university of Korea from June 1993 to June 1998. The patients were classified into two groups. One group (47 patients) was treated by Bobath trerapy and the other (40 patients) was not. The results were as follow ; 1) The period at the start of treatment was 15.3 days and the duration of treatment was 32.4 days 2) The shorter the period at the start of treatment, the shorter the duration of admission 3) There was no significant difference between two groups for the duration of hospitalization, seventy two percent of patients with Bobath treatment was walked compared with 25% of patients without Bobath treatment was. 4) There was no relation between the speech problem and the duration of admission, but the group with no speech problem showed better results in ambulation than those with speech problem. On conclusion, as soon as possible early rehabilitation treatment of the stroke patients should be performed in order to reduce the duration of hospitalization. Special(or professonal) treatment with Bobath therapy show more improved funtional recovery than that without Bobath therapy. Therefore actualization of Bobath therapy is also required.
This study surveyed people with hearing impairments and speech defect living in an area of Gyeonggi-do using a self-administered questionnaire and interviewed them with a deaf interpreter's help during the period from January 21 to February 14, 2009 in order to investigate their oral health management attitude according to their general characteristics. The difference between males and females was statistically significant. The results of this study were as follows. 1. As to the number of times of tooth brushing according to gender, 62.5% of males and 34.2% of females brushed their teeth 2 times, and 25.0% and 35.4% 3 times. 2. As to experiences in scaling according to Academic qualification, those with high academic qualification had scaling more regularly 3. As to tooth brushing methods according to cohabitant, the rolling method was most common regardless of cohabitant. As to the number of times of tooth brushing according to residence type, 41.9% of those living with their parents brushed their teeth 3 times, and 69.2% of those living alone and 47.5% of married ones 2 times. 4. With regard to how to access oral hygiene management education, 81.1% of elementary school graduates used multimedia materials and sign language explanation and captions, 48.6% of middle school graduates used multimedia materials and sign language explanation and 14.3% multimedia materials and captions, 50.0% of high school graduates used multimedia materials and sign language explanation and 17.3% multimedia materials and captions. Background and Objectives: There is a scant evidence on the use of simulations in audiology (especially in Malaysia) for case-history taking, although this technique is widely used for training medical and nursing students. Feedback is one of the important components in simulations training; however, it is unknown if feedback by instructors could influence the simulated patient (SP) training outcome for case-history taking among audiology students. Aim of the present study is to determine whether the SP training with feedback in addition to the standard role-play and seminar training is an effective learning tool for audiology case-history taking. Subjects and Methods: Twenty-six second-year undergraduate audiology students participated. A cross-over study design was used. All students initially attended two hours of seminar and role-play sessions. They were then divided into three types of training, 1) SP training (Group A), 2) SP with feedback (Group B), and 3) a non-additional training group (Group C). After two training sessions, the students changed their types of training to, 1) Group A and C: SP training with feedback, and 2) Group B: non-additional training. All the groups were assessed at three points: 1) pre-test, 2) intermediate, and 3) post-test. The normalized median score differences between and within the respective groups were analysed using non-parametric tests at 95% confidence intervals. Results: Groups with additional SP trainings (with and without feedback) showed a significantly higher normalized gain score than no training group (p<0.05). Conclusions: The SP training (with/without feedback) is a beneficial learning tool for history taking to students in audiology major.

In 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic began in full-scale, the WHO Director-General warned of the dangers of an infodemic. The infodemic is a phenomenon in which false information spreads rapidly like an epidemic and causes chaos, and it was noted that the COVID-19 pandemic is not just limited to health problems, but also linked to a variety of issues such as human rights, economic inequality, various discrimination, hate speech, fake news, global governance etc. In the field of education, it is necessary to think about how to connect this global situation with school classes. Accordingly, this study suggested the direction for global citizenship education by analyzing how the infodemic spreads on Korean social media with the case of the recent global COVID-19 pandemic. According to the research results, the rate of negative emotions was higher than positive ones in the emotions that generate infodemic, while anxiety and anger were focused among negative emotions. In addition, the infodemic tended to spread widely with the feelings of anger rather than anxiety, and the feelings of anger led to advocating aggressive policies against certain country and regions. Therefore, global citizenship education is required to focus on a sense of duty and responsibility as a citizen, not on the level of national identity based on an exclusive sense of belonging. Furthermore, global citizenship education needs to lead to presenting a blueprint for education in a way that can enhance the awareness of the global community for joint response to global challenges and realize common prosperity based on sustainability and justice.
