혼성 반사면의 반사 특성 추출 및 형상 복구(II) (Shape recovery and extraction the reflection properties of hybrid reflectance surface(II))

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach for recovering 3-D shape and extracting the reflectance properties of surface from intensity images. Photometric stereo method(PSM) is genrally based on the direct illumination. In this paper, the reflectance function is derived by interoduceing the indirect diffuse illumination in PSM and then applied to hybrid reflectance model which consists of two components; the lambertian and the specular reflectance. Under the hybrid reflectance model and the indirect diffuse illumination circumstance, the reflectance properties of sample surface can be extracting by normal sampler and then 3-D shape of an object can be recovered based on extracting reflectance properties. This method is rapid because of using the reference table and simplifies the restriction condition about the reflectance function existing in prior studies. Th erecovery efficiency in our method is better than that in prior studies. Also, this method is applied to various types of surfaces by defining general reflectance function.

  • Ultrasonic sensors have been widely used to recognize the working environment for a mobile robot. However, their intrinsic problems, such as specular reflection, wide beam angle, and slow propagation velocity, require an excessive number of sensors to be integrated for achieving the sensing goal. This paper proposes a new measurement scheme which uses only two sets of ultrasonic sensors to determine the location and the type of a target surface. By measuring the time difference between the returned signals from the target surface, which are generated by two transmitters with 1 ㎳ difference, it classifies the type and determines the size of the target surface. Since the proposed sensor system uses only two sets of ultrasonic sensors to recognize and localize the target surface, it significantly simplifies the sensing system and reduces the signal processing time so that the working environment can be recognized in real time.

A development of map building sensor system for mobile robot using low cost photo sensor

  • Mobile robot has various sensors for describing the external world. The ultrasonic sensor widely applied to the most mobile robot to detect the obstacle and environment owing to low cost, its easy to use. However, ultrasonic sensor has major problems: the uncertainty information of sensor, false readings caused by specular reflection, multi path effect, low angular resolution and sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity. This paper describes a sensor system for map building of mobile robot. It was made of low cost PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) sensor array and high speed RISC MPU. PSD sensor is cost effective and light weighting but its output signal has many noises. We propose heuristic S/W filter to effectively remove these noises. The developed map building sensor system was equipped on a mobile robot and was compared with ultrasonic sensor through field test.

  • 100 Gbit/in$^2$ 이상의 자기기록밀도를 달성하기 위해서는 재생헤드로 사용되고 있는 스핀밸브의 자기저항비가 10% 이상을 가지면서 열적 특성이 우수해야 한다. 현재까지 연구되어진 스핀밸브 구조 중 NiO([,2,3], $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$[4]등의 산화물 반강자성 층을 사용한 스핀밸브의 경우 기본 스핀밸브 구조를 사용하고도 이미 20% 이상의 자기저항비를 달성하였다. 이러한 높은 자기저항비는 절연층인 산화물 반강자성층과 금속 자성층 계면에서 일어나는 전자의 스펙큘라 반사(specular reflection)로부터 기인한다고 보고하고 있다.[2] (중략)

Prediction model of wave propagation inside buildings including specular and diffracted transmission and reflection

  • The growing use of unlicensed wireless systems has spurred interest in the 2.4 Ghz ISM band. In order to facilitate the efficient design of such systems, understandings of the propserties of radio wave propagation in buildings is necessary. Many authors have reported about statistical propagation models based on the extensive measurements in buildings. However, measurement based statistical analysis will not be enough for the optimum deployment of the communication systems in the specific building. Aviding expensive measurements in the individual buildings prior to installation, or adjustments afterwards, theoretical prediction models have been developed to predict the path loss and delay spread from the building floor plane. Predictions shows good agreements with measurements except for a few environments which was surrounded by heavy scatterers.

  • 일반적으로 컴퓨터를 이용한 수치 해석에는 격자 수치 해석 방법인 유한요소법 또는 유한차분법이 주로 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 이러한 방법들은 해석하고자 하는 영역을 요소나 격자 등으로 분할해야 하기 때문에 복잡한 현상들을 다루는 데 어려움을 갖게 된다. 이를 극복하기 위해 개발된 방법이 무요소법(Meshfree Method)이며 본 논문에서는 다양한 무요소법들 중 SPH(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics)가 고려되어진다. SPH는 라그랑지안 수치 근사 기법을 사용하는 입자법(Particle Method)으로 SPH를 정확하게 실행하기 위해서는 적절한 경계 처리법이 요구된다. 그러나 기존의 경계 처리법은 유체 입자의 침투현상 및 커널(Kernel) 끊김 현상이 발생하기 때문에 적합하지 않다. 따라서 지금까지 SPH의 경계 처리법을 향상시키기 위해 다양한 접근법들이 제안되었으며 본 논문에서는 이러한 접근법들 중 정반사(Specular Reflection), 재회복(Bounce-back), 재도입(Reintroduce) 방법 및 경계 반발력(Repulsive Force)과 가상 입자(Ghost Particle)의 적용이 분석되고 현상 접목을 통해 적절한 경계 처리법이 제안되어진다.

  • This paper proposes the practical echo-signal synthesis models - UTAHID (Underwater TArget by Highlight Distribution) & M-UTAHID(Modified UTAHID) - of underwater target for active sonar engineering At high frequencies all the echo components that are the specular reflected waves and various elastic scattering wave scan be regarded the summation of individual echo from some equivalent scattering centers, so the underwater target is characterized by highlights distributed in spatial target structure. Proposed models are compared with characteristics of random distributed model & equivalent interval highlight model, and analyzed target strength, echo-elongation effect, target time spread loss and so on. Thus these can be efficiently used in various real systems related to underwater target echo-signal synthesis on active sonar and acoustic countermeasure.

태양전지용 결정질 실리콘 웨이퍼에서의 레일리기준 기반 레이저산란의 광편향 분석에 관한 연구 (Study on Analysis of Optical Deflection of Laser Scattering Based on Rayleigh Criterion for Crystalline Silicon Wafer in Solar Cell)

  • In this paper, optical deflection of laser scattering has been investigated based on Rayleigh criterion for crystalline silicon wafer in solar cell. A laser scattering mechanism is newly designed using light scattering properties in silicon wafer. Intensity distributions of laser scattering are different, depending on the incident angle of laser computed from Rayleigh criterion. In case of the incident angle satisfied with the criterion, they are asymmetric. Also, their specular reflection angle is shifted to unpredicted ones. These phenomena are in accordance with previous theories of laser scattering. The optical deflection of laser scattering is experimentally identified with the designed laser scattering mechanism. Its mathematical model is presented from the geometric relationship of laser scattering. It is shown that the optical deflection of laser scattering agree with the presented model, exclusive of grazing angles which is satisfied with Rayleigh criterion.

자코비안과 퍼지 추론 시스템을 이용한 이동로봇의 주행문제에 관한 연구 (Study on Mobile Robot's Navigation Problem Using Jacobian and Fuzzy Inference System)

  • In this paper, we propose the topological map building method about unknown environment using the ultrasonic sensors. An ultrasonic sensor inherently has the range error due to the specular reflection. To decrease this error, we estimate the obstacle states(position and velocity) using the local minimum sensor values and Jacobian. Estimated states are used to avoid the obstacles and build the topological map similar to the type that human being memorizes an environment. When a mobile robot is faced with three problems(comer way, cross way and dead end), it senses the movable directions using FIS(Fuzzy Inference System). Among these directions, it can select the target direction using binary decision tree(Turn Side Selector). Proposed algorithm has been verified with three simulations and three implementations.

  • In Computer Graphics, Phong shading algorithm is essential and also sufficient for producing realistic images. In this paper, we propose an approach taking only two additions and one memory access for shading a pixel. A Phong-Shading table is used for storing the values of diffuse and specular components of the Phong reflection model. The intensity of a pixel can be obtained by table lookup. The performance of proposed method is almost the same as Gouraud shading.
