The 13C (α,n)16O reaction cross-section is important data for nuclear physics, astrophysical, and neutrino physics experiments, however, they exhibit uncertainties due to the discrepancies in the experimental data. In this study, using the Nedis-2m program code, the energy spectrum of α-induced neutrons in a thin carbon target was calculated and the corresponding reaction cross-section was refined in the alpha particle energy range of 5-8 MeV. The results were used to calculate the intensity and energy spectrum of background neutrons produced in the liquid scintillator of KamLAND. The results will be useful in a variety of astrophysical and neutrino experiments especially those based on LS or Gd-LS detectors.
The p-fluorotoluene was vibronically excited in a jet with a buffer gas He in a corona excited supersonic expansion. The vibronic emission spectrum of the jet cooled p-fluorotoluene in the transition of S1 → S0 has been recorded with a Fourier transform spectrometer in the uv region. The spectrum observed was analyzed to obtain accurate vibrational frequencies in the ground electronic state by comparing with those reported previously. The origin of the low frequency sequence bands observed in this work was discussed. Also, the absence of significant intensity of hot band resulting from the excited vibrational states in the spectrum suggests extensive vibrational cooling in the source.

In remote sensing image processing, the traditional fusion algorithm is based on the Intensity-Hue-Saturation (IHS) transformation. This method does not take into account the texture or spectrum information, spatial resolution and statistical information of the photos adequately, which leads to spectrum distortion of the image. Although traditional solutions in such application combine manifold methods, the fusion procedure is rather complicated and not suitable for practical operation. In this paper, an improved IHS transformation fusion algorithm based on the local variance weighting scheme is proposed for remote sensing images. In our proposal, firstly, the local variance of the SPOT (which comes from French "Systeme Probatoire d'Observation dela Tarre" and means "earth observing system") image is calculated by using different sliding windows. The optimal window size is then selected with the images being normalized with the optimal window local variance. Secondly, the power exponent is chosen as the mapping function, and the local variance is used to obtain the weight of the I component and match SPOT images. Then we obtain the I' component with the weight, the I component and the matched SPOT images. Finally, the final fusion image is obtained by the inverse Intensity-Hue-Saturation transformation of the I', H and S components. The proposed algorithm has been tested and compared with some other image fusion methods well known in the literature. Simulation result indicates that the proposed algorithm could obtain a superior fused image based on quantitative fusion evaluation indices.
Our study is aimed at proposal of systematic verification method of molecular structure using measuring method of selective ionic determination and spectrometry on 34 kinds of surfactants such as sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) which are most widely used today. In the IR spectrum, unsaturated fatty acids reveal themselves by HC= at $3000{\sim}3020cm^{-1}$, and intensity of $720cm^{-1}$ depends on carbon length of alkyl group. Also ethylene oxide(EO) adducts exhibit weak characteristic bands by $-CH_{2}-CH_{2}-O$ at 1350, 1100 and $950cm^{-1}$. Isethionate can be distinguished from diester succinate by intensity ratio of 1740 and $1200cm^{-1}$ spectrums, the ratio of latter is close to 1 due to 2 carboxylate radical in diester succinate. Quaternary ammonium salts exhibit characteristic band of $C_{4}N^{+}$ at $1000-900㎝^{-1}$. In the case of dialkyl dimethyl ammonium salts in quaternary ammonium surfactants, the spectrum of $3000cm^{-1}$ by $N-CH_{3}$ collapses to a very weak band at $3020cm^{-1}$. In ammonium heterocyclic derivatives, pyridinium salts show characteristic bands at 1640 and $1460cm^{-1}$, while imidazolinium salts exhibit characteristic band at $1620-1610cm^{-1}$. In the characteristic spectrum at $1080-1050cm^{-1}$ on OH radicals of the alkyl esters, primary alcohol appears as weak band and the 2 bands show in almost same intensity when primary and secondary alcohols exist together in one molecule. Also, alkyl ester of polyhydric alcohols appears as various broad band.
This study was purpose to quantitative evaluation of comparison of the image intensity uniformity and noise power spectrum (NPS) by using American college of radiology (ACR) phantom for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The MRI was used achiva 3.0T MRI and discovery MR 750, 3.0T, the head and neck matrix shim SENSE head coil were 32 channels receive MR coil. The MRI was used parameters of image sequence for ACR standard and general hospital. NPS value of the ACR standard T2 vertical image in GE equipment was 7.65E-06 when the frequency was 1.0 mm-1. And the NPS value of the ACR hospital T1 region of interest (ROI) 9 over all vertical image in Philips equipment was 9E-08 when the frequency was 1.0 mm-1 and the NPS value of the hospital T2 ROI 9 over all vertical image in Philips equipment was 1.06E-07 when the frequency was 1.0 mm-1. NPS was used efficiently by using a general hospital vertical sequence more than the standard vertical sequence method by using the ACR phantom. Furthermore NPS was the quantitative quality assurance (QA) assessment method for noise and image intensity uniformity characteristics was applied mutatis mutandis, and the results values of the physical imaging NPS of the 3.0T MRI and ACR phantom were presented.
In this paper, we review the effects of RF interference of medical equipment or other electric equipment which can emit radio frequency in the general hospitals environments which are in many cases being under the influence of various electromagnetic field. Using spectrum analysis method we found some devices could effect on the frequency of telemetry system. We also investigate the relationship between intensity of the signal and distance for the selected equipment used in hospitals.
This paper investigated the practical use for measuring the structural intensity (power flow per width of cross section) in a uniform semi-infinite beam in flexural vibration. The structural intensity is obtained as a vector at a measurement point, One-dimensional structural intensity can be obtained from 4-point cross spectral measurement, or 2-point measurement on the assumption of far field. The measurement errors due to finite difference approximation and phase mismatch of accelerometers are examined. For precise measurements, it would be better to make the value of k$\delta$(wave number x space between accelerometers) between 0.5 and 1.0. Formulation of the relation between bending waves in structures and structural intensity makes it possible to separate the wave components by which one can get a state of the vibration field. Experimental results are obtained from 2- and 4-point measurement performed at 200mm (near field) and 400mm (far field) apart from excitation point in random excitation. the results are compared with the theoretical values and measured values of input power spectrum in order to verify the accuracy of structural intensity method, 2-point method is suggested as the practical structural intensity method.
Using motions (Maruo) and wave reflection (the author), speed loss due to wind (van Berlekom) and ITTC standard spectrum, and various effects of weather(:such as weather intensity, ship type, ship size and draught) on ship speed performance at sea were investigated. Further, a comparison of the relative effects of weather and hull roughness on speed loss was also studied for a VLCC.
Small molecule OLED devices were fabricated and the electro-optical characteristics were analyzed. The luminance and color coordinate of the fabricated OLED device were $24,390cd/m^2$ and (x=0.15, y=0.22), respectively. Current efficiency of 6.8 cd/A and power efficiency of 2.4 lm/W were also obtained under DC operating condition. Transient light intensity was also measured by using Si photodiode.
The photocatalytic decolorization of the Rhodamine B (RhB) was studied using a UV/TiO$_2$ reactor. Yakuri titanium dioxide(anatase) was used as the suspended photocatalyst and proved to be effective for decolorization irradiated with UV light (254 mm). The photocatalyzed dioxide concentrations, light intensity and air flow rates. In 0.01 mM RhB, color could be completely photodegraded after 3 hours. Absorption spectrum of an aqueous solution containing RhB showed a continued diminution of the RhB concentration in the solution bulk : concomitantly, no new absorption peaks appeared. This confirmed the decolorization of RhB, i.e., the break up of the chromopore. The optimum loaded titanium dioxide for the decolorization was 0.75 g/(equation omitted). The light intensity showed exponential decay with distance. The decay of light intensity of RhB solution showed different tendency from TiO$_2$. These results suggested that the photocatalytic decolorization of dyes may be available method for decolorizing in wastewater.
