In the specimen of free PSA in the low concentration, the result in % bias from our institution and comparable evaluation institution was -33.7% which is exceeded % bias ${\pm}20%$ ; however, it was the domestically allowable limit recommended by the laboratory accreditation commission for specimen at the low concentration. In this paper, the cause was accredited by instability of free PSA substance within the specimen, and the specimen stability test was performed according to CLSI documents GP29-A2. After the low and high concentration specimen were made, and rapidly cooled down in a deep freezer with $-30^{\circ}C$, serum of two concentrations was measured for 10 consecutive days with 3 times a day by Architect i2000 and observed a change in the mean value. As the results of two groups, there were changes in the established target value, and a change level was evaluated by calculating it with % bias. The low concentration specimen had no significant reduction until the 4 day lapse in cold storage. However, % bias were reduced by -17.5% from the 5 day lapse, by 21.5% after the 7 day lapse, and by -26.9% after the 9 day lapse. The frozen specimen had only intra-day variation for 10 days. In the high concentration specimen, bias began to show as -12.2% from the 3 day lapse in cold storage. There was reduction by -28.9% from the 5 day lapse, by -39% after the 7 day lapse, and by -42.9% after the 9 day lapse. In the frozen specimen, there was only intra-day variation like the low concentration specimen in cold storage.
Purpose: This study provided the basic data for selecting the zirconia blocks by comparing the mechanical properties of the all ceramic crown between the domestic, import, translucent and shade blocks that were used in clinically. Methods: Currently, the most commercial block of five types(one import and two domestic block which is the translucent and shade) were used. It were elucidated by means of three point bending test, hardness test, FE-SEM observations and EDX analysis. The results were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA and Scheffe post hoc test for significant findings. Results: For flexural strength, LT specimen was the highest as 733.1 MPa, followed by JT specimen(712.0 MPa), ZT specimen(646.0 MPa), LS specimen(553.1 MPa), JS specimen(429.0 MPa). One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for flexural strength(p<0.05). For hardness, ZT specimen was the highest as 1556.5 Hv, followed by JT specimen(1540.3 Hv), LT specimen(1512.3 Hv), JS specimen(1472.0 Hv), LS specimen(1353.3 Hv). One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for hardness(p<0.05). Conclusion: Domestic block was higher than import block for flexural strength, and translucent block was higher than shade block for flexural strength. However, all blocks showed clinically acceptable range. There was no significant difference in hardness between domestic and import blocks. And significant difference was observed in translucent and shade blocks.

In this study, the effect of the shape of the specimen and the feedrate of the dental ultrasonic surgical instrument on the cutting force and surface roughness of the specimen is analyzed. Experimental specimens were made of SAWBONES artificial bone materials in square and spherical specimens. In addition, the cutting feedrate of the surgical instrument was controlled through the developed moving system. The cutting force generated when cutting the specimen was measured through a force sensor. After the experiment, the cutting surface of the specimen was observed through a three-dimensional optical microscope and the surface roughness was measured. Through one-way ANOVA, the effect of each specimen shape and feed rate on surface roughness was analyzed. As a result of the experiment, the cutting force increased proportionally in the initial feed rate increase stage, but the increase in cutting force decreased as the feed rate continued to increase. Also, the cutting force showed a difference according to the shape of the specimen. The spherical specimen with a relatively small cutting surface area had less cutting force than the square specimen. However, as a result of one-way ANOVA, it was found that the specimen shape and feed rate did not affect the surface roughness. In future studies, it is expected to be used for comparative analysis of ultrasonic surgical instruments and correlation analysis between cutting factors.

One of the most influential factors on estimating the complex modulus by using longitudinal vibration of a rod-type specimen is the accuracy of the approximate models for describing the dynamic behavior of the specimen. Performance of several approximate models is investigated analytically on the basis of the Pochhammer-Chree theory in case of infinite specimen and numerically on the basis of the finite element analysis in case of finite specimen. The frequency range where each model gives good approximation and its accuracy in that range are determined.
Elastic-plastic fracture toughness($J_{IC}$) by ultrasonic method is evaluated in terms of width and thickness. Widths of specimen in 6061-T6 aluminum alloy are 50mm and 100mm, thicknesses of those are 20mm and 25mm, respectively. Elastic-plastic fracture toughness by ultrasonic method is independent of specimen thickness and side groove. Angle beam probe which are placed on the end of the compact specimen detect the maximum crack extension effectively. Comparing with elastic-plastic fracture toughness by ultrasonic method and that of unloading compliance method, $J_{IC}$ of ultrasonic method are underestimated to that of unloading compliance method. Elastic-plastic fracture toughness of width 100mm specimen are underestimated to that of width 50mm specimen about 20%.
The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of laser on a base metal alloy for dental casting. In this study, microhardness, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, interaction behavior of metal-ceramic interface, and bond strength were tested before and after the laser treatment for metal-ceramic alloy. The conclusion arised from this study are as follows: 1. The hardness of lased area was higher than that of unlased area. 2. The corrosion resistance was higher in lased specimen than in unlased specimen. 3. the wear resistance was higher in Iased specimen than in unlased specimen. 4. The EDAX showed that Mo, Si and Al were increased in lased surface but Ni and Cr not increased. 5. The SEM of lased area revealed a typical microstructure. 6. The bond strength of lased specimen was increased in 11.2% than of unlased specimen.

In this study, an automatic ultrasonic testing system is used to detect the defects of the natural flaw test specimen and of the artificial flaw test specimen. We evaluate the detection performance of the acceptance standard for the natural flaw test specimen and of the acceptance standard for the artificial flaw test specimen. We also study the potential problems of those acceptance standards. The results indicate that the acceptance standard for the detection of defects in weldzone is good then the sensitivity correction is performed and that we must clearly specify special check points of the acceptance standard for the system in use.

Deformation on shapes of the hydrogen absorption metal in this paper was investigated on hydrogen absorption-desorption cycling. In order to study this problem, the cold rolled palladium plate and the cold extrusion palladium bar as specimens had been used. By using the electrochemical method, the palladium specimens were cyclically hydrogenated in the 0.1 mol H$_2$SO$_4$ electrolyte. As results, it is noted that the thickness of the plate specimen gradually increased in increasing hydrogenation cycles whereas the width and the length decreased. But both the diameter and the length of the bar specimen increased with increasing hydrogenation cycles. Also, grains in the plate specimen were greatly deformed after hydrogenation cycling whereas internal grains in the bar specimen were pulverized. And deterioration of the hydrogen absorption rate of the bar specimen was lager than the plate specimen.

Hardness value decreased about 3% for annealed specimens and increased about 60% for one hour aged specimens. But the values of the other specimens aged two hours or more showed almost the same. The yield strength was the highest about 1,800㎫ in 0.06%Nb specimen having twice as much as the base meta1 specimen. Also, the elongation was the highest in 0.03%Nb specimen showing the same as base metal specimen. The higher aging temperature and the longer aging time, the higher fatigue life. On the other hand, the 0.03%Nb specimen showed the highest fatigue life which increased about 12% more than base metal specime. 0.06%Nb specimen aged at 482$^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours simultaneously satisfied the 250 grade strength and 200 grade elongation having the most superior mechanical properties.
Big accidents of flyings, vessel, subways, gas equipments, buildings and bridge happens frenquently. Therefore many people are suffering harm of property. The destruction cause of macaine components is almost accused by fatigue. This study is test for STS304 specimen using pure and cantilever bending state. Rounded specimen and notched specimen including fracture surface investigation was comparatively experimented, fatigue life according to degree of surface finishing was examined. Fatigue fracture probability of notched canilever specimens were predicted by P-S-N curve, median rank and Weibull distribution. And at the relation with the rotational speed and stress, the fatigue life of the test specimen was higher at high speed than low speed.
