  • Objective: The goal of this study was to explore the implementation status of positive behavior support(PBS) for child care and education teachers and special education teachers at inclusive settings, and to investigate support needs of both teachers for improving the implementation of PBS. Methods: This study made up 405 surveys for child care and education teachers and special education teachers in 45 inclusive settings from July to August in 2019. A total of 244 surveys(60.2%) were completed and returned. Results: Special education teachers were statistically higher than child care and education teachers in the implementation of the center based level 1, the small group based level 2, and the individual based level 3 of PBS. In open-ended responses, when implementing PBS, the two groups of teachers had difficulties in getting knowledge about how to instruct preschoolers and implementing PBS. Both groups of teachers wanted the education and the training opportunities for PBS at first, and to 'reduce the teacher-to-child ratio'in the public support system. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results, suggestions were discussed on how to improve the implementations of PBS of child care and education teachers and special education teachers at inclusive settings.

  • The demand for inclusive education in school settings has been constantly increasing. Yet, within the context of general subject teacher education, rather than special teacher education, preparation for this remains insufficient. This study aims to investigate and analyze the teacher efficacy for inclusive practices of pre-service science teachers with a focus on identifying differences based on respondent variables. In this research, teacher efficacy for inclusive practices is defined as self-belief in the ability to effectively teach students, including students with disabilities, in inclusive educational environments. It encompasses three sub-dimensions: efficacy in using inclusive instruction, efficacy in collaboration, and efficacy in dealing with disruptive behaviors. Utilizing data from 61 pre-service science teachers using 'Teacher' Efficacy for Inclusive Practices' survey tool, this study examines the distribution of teacher efficacy in inclusive practice across sub-dimensions and differences in distribution based on respondent background. The findings indicate that pre-service science teachers show a generally positive state across all three sub-dimensions, with efficacy to use inclusive instructions and efficacy in collaboration being the highest and efficacy in dealing with disruptive behaviors the lowest. he teachers' efficacy for inclusive practices of pre-service science teachers exhibited some tendencies of difference based on gender, experience with volunteering for individuals with disabilities, experience with inclusive education, and the extent of coursework in special education. However, none of these factors showed statistically significant differences.

Third, because 49.2% of the respondents chose 'important' on the question of 'how important the field education and the experience education are', it looked like most of them agreed with the importance of the field education and the experience education. Fourth, because 61.1% of the responded teachers chose 'need' on the question of 'if it needs relationship with other studies', it looked like most of them agreed with the necessity of relationship with other studies. Fifth, 62.5% of the respondents chose 'no' on the question of 'if they conduct the education for sustainable development Even if some wanted the education for sustainable development, most of them would not do it in the regular curriculum, but in the special activity class or teacher's discretional time. Sixth, most respondents indicated the teacher's class burden and the teacher's lack of knowledge as the problem if the education for sustainable development would be conducted. • The objective of this research is to compare the teacher education system in countries that have reformed, or are in the process of reforming, their informatics education by reflecting ongoing social changes and developments in IT. The teacher education systems in Finland, Germany, Japan, the UK and US were compared. As a result of the study it was found that (1) the results did not differ according to the teacher education institution, (2) there was a focus on a minor subject, and (3) there were various routes for teacher training. The systems for special graduate schools were found to be developed, probation period after graduation was more than one year, and license renewal systems were being enforced. Based on these results, it was proposed that (1) more teachers be recruited to attend graduate schools and (2) that software training be given to all teachers as a minor. Finally, a license renewal system for revaluating teachers' qualifications was also proposed. This research is meaningful in that it compared the teacher training system in Korea with five major developed countries.

  • The myth reflects the human way of thinking about the world. Therefore, an important part of myth is human creation and role. This study examines the process of human creation in myth and discusses implications for education. The subjects that can be considered from the viewpoint of education are as follows. The status and role of teachers and students, the relationship between teachers and students, how to create or create humans, and the purpose and results of human creation. First, it is the position and role of the teacher. In myth, being like a teacher is a divine being that transcends human ability. In Dangun mythology, Hwanwoong or Shinwoong descended from heaven, and in the Genesis it is the Creator God. In Dangun mythology, the role of the teacher guides the way of becoming a human and provides necessary tasks. In Genesis, the image of the teacher is the Creator God. God plays the role of a teacher who prepares various environments in which learners can work. Second, the status and role of students in myths. In Dangun mythology, students are symbolized by bear and tiger. They go to the teacher with the desire to become human beings. In Dangun mythology, the student is not a passive existence but an autonomous and active image. In Genesis, the appearance of a student is a passive being created by a teacher. Third, the creation of human beings in myth can be seen in terms of educational process and method. In Dangun Myth, the beginning of education is the wish or expectation of learners. Learners eat mugwort and garlic and participate in human learning. In Genesis 1, however, there is no need for a special method, since human beings are created according to the Creator's command. Fourth, the purpose of education can be discussed through the purpose of human creation. In Dangun mythology, the purpose of education is not to live according to instinct but to become human with culture and personality. In Genesis 1, the purpose of human creation is the role of the Creator in creating and managing the world. Therefore, it is the aim of humans to manage the world in an orderly manner. The purpose of education in Genesis 2 is to enable humans to serve the world.

  • Elementary education in Korea has variously changed and developed during the last thirty years. Among all the progressive changes, the improvement of teaching conditions is considered to be the most fundamental one. The number of students assigned to a class or a teacher has decreased to a considerable extent. Cyber teaching-learning has been peformed at school and home, and English education has been emerged as a significant part of the Korean public education. The research issues constantly considered essential over the past three decades starting in the 1980's are those related to curricula, teaching-learning methods, training of teachers in-service, and education for upright characters. The practical and political issues should be dealt with to revise the three integrated subjects and text books into a sole integrated subject and text book, to double the credential of teachers in terms of professionalism and to decrease the number of students per teacher in Korea to the OECD level.
