In this paper we present and compare two different spatio-temporal decorrelation learning algorithms for updating the weights of a linear feedforward network with FIR synapses (MIMO FIR filter). Both standard gradient and the natural gradient are employed to derive the spatio-temporal decorrelation algorithms. These two algorithms are applied to multichannel blind deconvolution task and their performance is compared. The rigorous derivation of algorithms and computer simulation results are presented.
For developing the location based service which is individualized and specialized according to the characteristic of the users, the spatio-temporal pattern mining for extracting the meaningful and useful patterns among the various patterns of the mobile object on the spatio-temporal area is needed. Thus, in this paper, as the practical application toward the development of the location based service in which it is able to apply to the real life through the pattern mining from the huge historical data of mobile object, we are proposed STOMP(using Frequency of sequence and Weight) that is the new mining method for extracting the patterns with spatial and temporal constraint based on the problems of mining the optimal moving pattern which are defined in STOMP(F)[25]. Proposed method is the pattern mining method compositively using weighted value(weights) (a distance, the time, a cost, and etc) for our previous research(STOMP(F)[25]) that it uses only the pattern frequent occurrence. As to, it is the method determining the moving pattern in which the pattern frequent occurrence is above special threshold and the weight is most a little bit required among moving patterns of the object as the optimal path. And also, it can search the optimal path more accurate and faster than existing methods($A^*$, Dijkstra algorithm) or with only using pattern frequent occurrence due to less accesses to nodes by using the heuristic moving history.
This paper proposes a multi-view Wyner-Ziv Video coding scheme based on spatio-temporal adaptive estimation. The proposed algorithm is designed to search for a better estimated block with joint bi-directional motion estimation by introducing weights between temporal and spatial directions, and by classifying effectively the region of interest blocks, which is based on the edge detection and the synthesis, and by selecting the reference estimation block from the effective motion vector analysis. The proposed algorithm exploits the information of a single frame viewpoint and adjacent frame viewpoints, simultaneously and then generates adaptively side information in a variety of closure, and reflection regions to have a better performance. Through several simulations with multi-view video sequences, it is shown that the proposed algorithm performs visual quality improvement as well as bit-rate reduction, compared to the conventional methods.

In the cloud computing environment, there has been a lot of research into the Fog/Edge Computing (FEC) paradigm for securing user proximity of application services and computation offloading to alleviate service delay difficulties. The method of predicting dynamic location change patterns of edge devices (moving objects) requesting application services is critical in this FEC environment for efficient computing resource distribution and deployment. This paper proposes an optimal moving pattern extraction algorithm in which variable weights (distance, time, congestion) are applied to selected paths in addition to a support factor threshold for frequency patterns (moving objects) of edge devices. The proposed algorithm is compared to the OPE_freq [8] algorithm, which just applies frequency, as well as the A* and Dijkstra algorithms, and it can be shown that the execution time and number of nodes accessed are reduced, and a more accurate path is extracted through experiments.
We developed the assessment method for weekly groundwater resources management vulnerability. To consider the effect of precipitation on groundwater level, we calculated correlation coefficient between groundwater level and precipitation applying critical infiltration concept. We developed the vulnerability assessment criteria and calculated weights for criteria using the entropy method. Weekly groundwater resources management vulnerability of small administrative districts were estimated using developed method in this research. The developed method can be a basis for the establishment of the spatio-temporal groundwater resources management plan.

In South Korea, forest fire occurrences are increasing in size and duration due to various factors such as the increase in fuel materials and frequent drying conditions in forests. Therefore, it is necessary to minimize the damage caused by forest fires by appropriately providing the probability of forest fire risk. The purpose of this study is to improve the Daily Weather Index(DWI) provided by the current forest fire forecasting system in South Korea. A new Fire Risk Index(FRI) is proposed in this study, which is provided in a 5km grid through the synergistic use of numerical weather forecast data, satellite-based drought indices, and forest fire-prone areas. The FRI is calculated based on the product of the Fine Fuel Moisture Code(FFMC) optimized for Korea, an integrated drought index, and spatio-temporal weighting approaches. In order to improve the temporal accuracy of forest fire risk, monthly weights were applied based on the forest fire occurrences by month. Similarly, spatial weights were applied using the forest fire density information to improve the spatial accuracy of forest fire risk. In the time series analysis of the number of monthly forest fires and the FRI, the relationship between the two were well simulated. In addition, it was possible to provide more spatially detailed information on forest fire risk when using FRI in the 5km grid than DWI based on administrative units. The research findings from this study can help make appropriate decisions before and after forest fire occurrences.

In a dynamically changing time-varying network environment, the optimal moving pattern of edge devices can be applied to distributing computing resources to edge cloud servers or deploying new edge servers in the FEC(Fog/Edge Computing) environment. In addition, this can be used to build an environment capable of efficient computation offloading to alleviate latency problems, which are disadvantages of cloud computing. This paper proposes an algorithm to extract the optimal moving pattern by analyzing the moving path of multiple edge devices requiring application services in an arbitrary spatio-temporal environment based on frequency. A comparative experiment with A* and Dijkstra algorithms shows that the proposed algorithm uses a relatively fast execution time and less memory, and extracts a more accurate optimal path. Furthermore, it was deduced from the comparison result with the A* algorithm that applying weights (preference, congestion, etc.) simultaneously with frequency can increase path extraction accuracy.

To increase wireless capacity, the concurrent use of multiple wireless interfaces on different frequency bands, called aggregation, can be considered. In this paper, we focus on aggregation of multiple Wi-Fi interfaces with packet-level traffic spreading between the interfaces. Two aggregation schemes, link bonding and multipath TCP (MPTCP), are tested and compared in a dualband Wi-Fi radio system with their Linux implementation. Various test conditions such as traffic types, network delay, locations, interface failures and configuration parameters are considered. Experimental results show that aggregation increases throughput performance significantly over the use of a single interface. Link bonding achieves lower throughput than MPTCP due to duplicate TCP acknowledgements (ACKs) resulting from packet reordering and filtering such duplicate ACKs out is considered as a possible solution. However, link bonding is fast responsive to links' status changes such as a link failure. It is shown that different combinations of interface weights for packet spread in link bonding result in different throughput performance, envisioning a spatio-temporal adaptation of the weights. We also develop a mathematical model of power consumption and compare the power efficiency of the schemes applying different power consumption profiles.
